Love You So Stories #3

Love You So Special

Rate this book
Length: 5 hrs and 18 mins

Can a man’s secret yearnings be revealed in a tank full of fish?

Artie Haynes knows he’s nothing special, with just-your-regular-brown hair, a solid plumber’s job, not much education, and a family that can barely get off the couch. But Artie has quirks—like his love of tropical fish, a landlord who’s a professor of existentialism, a passion for the amazing piano music he hears at a concert hall while he’s fixing the bathrooms—and the fact that he’s never come out as gay and probably never will. But when he’s hired to build a guesthouse for the pianist whose music enchanted him, Artie is swept up into an unimaginable world.

Francois Desmarais may be famous, rich, and revered as one of the world’s great classical composers and pianists, but he’s soothed and challenged by the inquisitive, stalwart, protective man in his back yard. When Francois’s terrible fear of crowds turns into a dangerous plot, Artie can stay in the closet or prove just how special he is.

This book was adorable on so many levels. I loved the juxtaposition of blue-collar plumber guy and delicate pianist getting together. Both men were sympathetic characters, and I was rooting for them.

Artie, especially, with his love of music and awkward attempts at Googling French words, was everything that's right with the world. I got a big kick out of his family too. When his mother revealed her secret reading pleasure, I giggled madly.

Tara Lain is an experienced author and writes with ease. Her books are fun, fluffy, and a bit sitcomish; they don't take themselves seriously.

I was smiling while reading this story, not expecting anything complex, just enjoying Artie and Francois drinking champagne and visiting Artie's fish. Artie works so hard to freshen up his apartment for Francois. He even buys fancy cheese!

Then toward the end, Francois ditches his overprotective mother and goes to a mall. And then something truly weird happens. This sequence of events is so bizarre, I thought perhaps Francois was having a nervous breakdown or maybe fell and hit his head and the whole thing was a dream. But no such luck.

I don't understand the author's reasoning for including this "twist." It didn't fit the rest of the story at all. It was like eating apple pie a la mode, enjoying the creamy sweetness with crunchy bits, only to have a ghost pepper shoved in your mouth.

The ending returns to the pie, but I can't forgive the ghost pepper. Way to fuck up dessert.

Okay, first of all I'm gonna start off by saying that this was an ARC I won in a give-away, and I feel really bad about my rating, but it was just not a good match for me, unfortunately.

I've enjoyed some of Tara Lain's stories, and when the give-away in exchange for a review popped up on the Facebook, I jumped on the chance because HOLY MOLY a nice cover and a good-looking cover model (I'm pretty blind to covers mostly, but this one really caught my eye!)
description
BUT back to the story and the things that put me off.
Let me start with Artie's internalized homophobia. This dude was SOOOO scared of appearing gay, that it bordered on the ridiculous.
I mean dude was afraid of the colour 'red'... RED:
A couple of minutes later, he was dry, in clean jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt that was dark red.
Yeah, it was a weird color for a guy, but it felt a little bit—he shrugged as he pulled it on—special. And it looked good with his light brown hair and brown eyes.
He made a rude razzberry noise. Give it up. You’re wading into deep water, man. You’re gonna start watching Project Runway soon.

I think I understand where the author is wanting to go with this, but it was just kind of stupid.
The colour 'red', really?!?

The whole book has this undertone of Artie judging things that are not 100% ALL MASC: like timbering (that's totally a word:-) or driving Monster Trucks, to be gay = inferior. And yes, this is also cliché but used here to illustrate my point.
This 'all masc'-thing, kind of grated on my nerves?!

Then there's the family dynamics and seriously, this was even weirder.
Francois's mother was overbearing and creepy and needed to get a life of her own. I understand that Artie had some angst-issues, but she read as a greedy, 'helicopter' mom. Always hovering and more interested in managing and deciding where Artie is supposed to play versus his actual well-being.
description
Then there were Artie's parents. I haven't put this in spoiler tags since I don't think it's spoiler-y, but let me know.
When Artie finally gets his nerve up and comes out, it is the weirdest scene ever.

His parents are useless wastes of spaces that just sit on their fat asses doing nothing but reading and watching TV. Their house is falling apart around them and they do nothing. Artie gives them, and his brother, money instead of getting a grip and telling them to get moving.
Artie's father is also a regular 'good ol' boy' until he's just not.
He does a 180 and is all aboard the 'gay-supportive-train' within two minutes of Artie coming out, which was WEIRD. I'm not saying it's not good, but it read like a quick, glossed-over solution.
And then we have Artie's mother, and this is her reaction:
“Are you going to get married?”
Artie’s eyes widened, but Francois said, “That could happen. Nobody’s asked anybody yet.”
He grinned. Her voice got more breathless. “And live happily ever after?”
Francois laughed. “Well, we certainly hope so.”
Artie cocked his head. “What are you saying, Mom?”
She flipped the book she’d been reading toward them. The two guys in a clinch stared back at them from the cover. “Don’t you realize all my favorite authors are Amy and Mary and ZAM and KC and Andrew? Oh my God, right here in my house, I have my very own gay romance!” She fell back in her chair laughing.

description
STOP, just stop! That is creepy!
And again, it's good that there is not a lot of angst or hate in Artie's coming out, but this was just... Too easy?

Lastly we have
I wish Ms. Lain had spent more pages on developing the romance and maybe the tension between Artie and Francois or given the parental units more clear characteristics, since they read like they had a big impact, but they were so superficial, as it stands now.

I think this read sort of YA/NA to me (sorry, I can never quite tell the difference), but this had that feel of younger MCs, for a younger crowd.
I'll leave you with this quote from Artie's brother and why this sort of didn't work for me:
Artie buried his face in his hand and cried. AB snorted. “Yeah, he must be gay. I’ve never seen him do that before.”

Generally fluffy and sweet story about a plumber/construction worker who falls in love with the pianist whose house he is building. Reminiscent of Billy from Knight of Ocean Avenue, but no worries, that’s where the similarities between the stories end.

I really enjoyed Artie and Francois’ story. Artie wasn’t quite as clueless about his sexuality as Billy, but he was closeted and scared to come out. Once he meets and falls in love with Francois, he knows a love that special needs to be lived out in the light.

As usual, I’m in awe of Tara’s storytelling. While this is short, it’s a complete story with characters that are well fleshed out, even secondary ones, such as Francois’ mom and Artie’s family and landlord.

A Joyfully Jay review.

3.5 stars

Love You So Special is the third book in the Love You So series, but fully enjoyable on its own. This is a sweet little story that got a wee bit melodramatic for me. Francois’ agoraphobia is a real thing, and Artie becomes a bit of a protector to Francois—both at home and at the concert hall. Together they make sense, even though Artie is afraid to come out. The melodrama stemmed from some stalkers who can’t leave Francois be. So, it didn’t make sense when Francois had a tantrum that led to him being in real jeopardy.

The romance between Francois and Artie is a slow burn with some mild misunderstandings. Artie’s afraid to lose his family and job if he comes out, but finds that the love of such a great man is worth the cost—and he gets to save more than the day in the end: he saves his relationships with his folks, and finds a path to true happiness. Francois does a LOT of growing up, and becomes more savvy about his career and his emotional struggles. The love between him and his mother—and with Artie—become the center of his world, and he’s more than happy to love a man who makes him feel so special. It’s a quick listen, and I’m always ready for another Love You So book, if more are planned.

🟩 Started out very promising, but was badly written, the story was average and the plot became ridiculous in the 2nd part of the book
🟨 Dialogues were stiff, weird almost
🟪 Francois is sheltered, traumatized and a mama's boy, there was depth there, but it wasn't utilized
🟦 I loved the blue collar Artie 💙
🟧 The cringe award goes out to Francois' relationship with his mom
🟥 Almost no spice

One more book in this series and then I'm done with this author.

Oh my.

This story (and the narrator) spoke to the squishy underbelly of my heart. The bit that soaks up all the romance candy regardless of realism, in fact, that’s the bit that thrives on the fantastical OTT bits of romance. Tara Lain knows how to write those stories for me. They aren’t crazy OTT by any means, but they are heavy on the rom com feel so they are really fun to escape into and just flow with the love.

The Love You So series is all of this in a pretty, pretty nutshell. Firstly, there is Artie, he is one of my favorite kinds of MCs. Artie is humble, solid and his heart is too big not to be in love. He’s a plumber by trade, but an overall handy and responsible guy who ends up being the foreman on a remodel at the home of Francois. Francois is a world renowned composer and pianist whose mother is his manager and he lives under her heavy control of his career and life. Artie is in the closet out of fear of disappointing his family (who he supports financially) while Francois is out with no apologies about who he loves. If opposites attract is your treat, then this is your story.

Artie first falls in love with Francois’ music and as the two spend time together he begins to love Francois the person and the feelings are reciprocated. I loved reading about the two of them together. Artie is so protective of Francois, but in a sweet and respectful way that allows Francois to still have strength and pride. Francois is endlessly supportive of Artie when he considers coming out in his own time. The two of them really were made for each other regardless of their different backgrounds.

The narrator owns these characters so well. This is the first time I’ve heard Ry Forest, and after I listened to Love You So Special, I filled my audible cart with the rest of the stories he narrated, all by Tara Lain. It was a lovely week of bingeing. He captured the sweet charm of Artie and his Francois was a kick that kept with the spirit of the series. Francois has a French accent (stating what is pretty obvious here, but I want you to know where I’m going) and it is slightly reminiscent of Jean Girard talking to Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights which amused me to no end. It wasn’t so much that it drew me from the story, but it was just enough to keep in the vein of the rom-com, slightly OTT theme. I loved when the two of them would banter, it was a kick to listen to.

The story took a weird turn with some stalker fans of Francois and honestly it didn’t need to go there. That was the only moment that was legit OTT and the story had enough meat without it. I didn’t need that distraction from Artie and Francois as a couple.

The family angst that could have been, on both sides, wasn’t and that was fine. That’s where the realism isn’t a thing, but I wasn’t here for that and I wasn’t expecting it, so I mentally acknowledged it and went back to wallowing in Francois’ accent and Artie’s sweet, sweet heart.

Well this was a sweet way to spend an afternoon...full review to follow soonish!

Oh this was just adorable wrapped up in more adorable...

Artie's a blue collar worker and he knows there's so much more out there in the world, but it's not for 'average hard working people like him' but when circumstances conspire to present him with the opportunity to hear just a little of the music that makes his heart soar and brings him to life...Artie's no fool either he doesn't pass up the chance to . I really liked Artie with his fish tank full of pet fish and how he looks out for his landlord who is a retired professor of existentialism. If I could pick a little brother I think it'd be someone like Artie. He's just a really awesome guy...he's kind, hardworking and a son that would make any parent proud, he's pretty damned selfless.

When Artie gets a chance to do some renovation work at the home of Madame Desmarais and more importantly her talented son Francois, who also happens to be a world renowned composer and pianist whose fear of crowds makes performing live an absolute nightmare for him the two become friends and Francois very quickly realizes that not only does he enjoy Artie's company but Artie soothes his soul in a way that no one else ever has and for Artie, Francois sees so much about him that is good and noble. Francois knows that Artie is someone who he would be proud to have not just as a friend, but maybe even as a boyfriend.

One of the things that I noticed with this story was that I felt a bit more engaged with the secondary characters such as Francois' mother, Artie's landlord...I think he was totally adorable and Artie's family in general ended up to be a pleasant surprise.

'Love You So Special' was a nearly perfect blend of romance, drama and comedy that kept me engaged from start to finish and it seems that for this listener it was the perfect entertainment for a Valentine's Day afternoon. At 5 hrs. and 18 mins. it was long enough to provide an engaging and well filled out story but not so long that it became boring at any time.

Admittedly there's a bit of a plot twist towards the ending of this story that was really a bit of take it or leave it for me, I can honestly say that I'm torn on how much I really thought this helped the story but in the end it was there and I guess more than anything I viewed it as a bit of a speed bump something that was on the path and while it may have slowed the journey down a bit, it wasn't enough to stop things completely and once your past it you carry on and the rest of the trip is a smooth ride.

As with the previous books in this series the narrator was once again Rys Forest who once again has given substance to the characters of this story and created a very enjoyable listening experience that I look forward to revisiting in the future along with the previous stories in Ms Lain's 'Love You So' series.

While I really enjoyed so many aspects of this story, there were some things that just really bothered me as well. Overall, it was a very sweet romance that proves that opposites attract.

Artie is a blue collar kind of guy. He's the first in his house to graduate high school and he's built his life around hiding the fact that he's gay. From the clothes that he wears to his profession of plumber, no one knows. Well, that's not entirely true. His fish know everything about Artie.

Francois is a musical genius. He's a composer and he's a world class pianist. But he's got a crippling anxiety of crowds and well, most people. He lives in a huge mansion with his mother where he's safe. But when he meets the plumber who's working on his home addition, he can't believe how easy it is to talk to him. And he can't understand what it is about him that makes him feel comfortable.

The romance between Artie and Francois was so sweet and a very slow burn. I really enjoyed how their feelings were laid out so well by Tara Lain. It was very well written and fun to read.

I didn't love the homophobic aspect of the story. It was saddening how great lengths Artie went to to stay in the closet and how the story made his parents seem like awful, uncaring people until he brought home someone like Francois.

If you are looking for a sweet, slow burn with MC's that are clearly meant to be, this is for you.

Another great story about not judging a book by its cover. Artie is a mans man, blue collar, works hard and drinks a bear now and then. However, he is in the closet afraid if he comes out he will lose his family he helps support and his job. Artie loves music, it talks to him and attracts him like a moth to flame. Francois is a sheltered composer/pianist who struggles with crowds due to a traumatic experience in his past. Francois is drawn to Artie because he listens to his music and understands what it is saying. Artie is drawn to Francois because he creates such beauty and sees in Artie something he can't see in himself. This was a well written story that catches your right from the start. Artie's manor and actions set him apart from what is perceived as normal for someone in his profession. His easy understanding of the complex situation surrounding Francois seems so natural you would think they had known each other for years. I really loved Madam, she came off as a cool, cold character but she surprised me in the end. I love how Ms. Lain turns the tables on what is believed of the Blue Collar persona and shows us that not everything is black and white. What you see on the outside does not define what is really on the inside. I look forward to seeing what she comes up with next.

The final book in the series, Love You So Special was another incredibly sweet, lower angst romance. I found the characters in this book to be a bit more intriguing than the previous couple, and I appreciated that the pull between them felt a bit more authentic this time around.

Once again the author pairs an unlikely couple who ends up fitting very well together. Love You So Special features two interesting characters with fully developed backgrounds, and I quite liked both Francois and Artie. I also really liked how both men brought out hidden aspects of themselves so they both were happier and more comfortable in their skins at the close of the story. There were even some unexpected suspenseful scenes that further developed the story and closeness of the men. I was equally surprised at how both men’s relationships with their families resolved and quite liked that it was happier than I expected at the start. That said, the sweetness and naivety in some situations felt a little heavy-handed and I think it’s safe to say that this author’s brand of romance is not quite my style. Even so, I’m glad I gave this series a try and discovered a narrator who was new to me and injected plenty of emotion into his performance.

This is my favourite so far in the series. It features Artie the plumber who we met in the previous book and it was lovely to get to know him better.

I loved how Artie and Francois got to know each other and how intuitive Artie was to understand the help Francois needed when things got out of hand for him.

Artie needed the little bit of self confidence that Francois gave him, it also allowed him to open his eyes and ears and hear it when people told him how great he was. I really enjoyed his absolute love of the classical music, he didn’t know what was what but the music called to him and it was lovely seeing that.

Can’t wait to continue on with this series

Adorable!
I've been really loving Tara Lain's novels!
I know I'm a little late to the party, but the last few of her books I've read, I've really enjoyed.
Super sweet, great characters, hot sex, and a super happily ever after.
Winner!

Audio performed really nicely by Ry Forest. Too bad I don't think I've got anything else done by him. Maybe he got this job for the French accent... either way, wish he'd narrate more because he did a good job.

I have to say that Tara's books are a must read for me.

She is giving us another opposites attract love story that will make you smile.

Artie is a easy going normal guy who just wants to live his life. He is gay but not out and doesn't see any reason to come out. He works as a plumber and is at a job when he hears beautiful music that makes his heart sing. When he listens to it, it makes him think he can do anything. When he hears some beautiful music coming from a piano one night he wants to know more about who ever was playing it.

Francois is a classical pianist who lives at home with his mother because he can't be around crowds. He get so worked up that he becomes almost paralyzed with fear. Since he has been considered one of the best for a long time, he knows he has to perform but hates it. He wants to just write his music but knows that can't happen.

When Artie comes to do some work at his house, Francois finds that he wants to know about him. Francois has never met anyone like Artie and wants to know more. As for Artie, he finds Francois invigorating. They bond over the music and loved the way they interacted with each other. Francois feels that Artie calms him and that help him with his stage fright. Artie feels that Francois is so special and doesn't know what he can see in him since he is so ordinary.
As they grow closer, both men realize they may be opposites but are perfect for each other.

I loved the slow burn she gave to the story. I felt the chemistry and couldn't wait for them to go for it. I think even though they didn't have anything in common , the music is what brings them together.

It was a cute story for me and I just adored the cover. Congrats to Tara on another winner and can't wait for what comes next from her.

Review to be posted on release day :)

This was another lovely book in this series of guys discovering themselves and who they really are.
Artie hasn't had the breaks in life - he's just kind of done what's expected of him and taken care of his family as much as he can. He's good at his job and he likes doing it right. He's pushed down his attraction to men because he's been taught it will bring him trouble - with his family, with his co-workers, with his clients. He has this wonderful friend Don though - his landlord - who actually sees him and through his own quiet way encourages Artie to follow his desires. And his biggest desire is Francois Demarais - concert pianist, genius composer, surprising boss! But he'll have to get through Francois formidable mother and his own doubts if he's going to do anything about it.

When Francois asks Artie to join him for dinner and Artie steps in with some unruly fans, Artie reveals the reason he is uncomfortable with a lot of social interaction. And he's grateful and comfortable with Artie. But Artie has to do some soul searching, because he does not think that he is in any way good enough for Francois - he's not educated, he's not out, he doesn't have money, his family is a bit much, etc. And he's afraid of what all the change would mean.

But when Francois is in jeopardy, of course Artie, with his heart of gold, saves the day. And Artie realizes what is really important to him and what he really wants.

I LOVE Artie. Tara Lain writes such amazing characters who are struggling with their true selves and putting other people and opinions before their own. This is such an accurate picture of how too many people have to live their lives - not following their hearts and their dreams. Artie is another one of these guys. He has aspirations he doesn't even know about until he hears this beautiful music. He does however have a strong supporter in Don, his landlord, a retired professor, and Francois who is able to see him for who he truly is. Francois has been crippled by his past and finally with Artie he can reveal what has happened to him. They help each other by really accepting and seeing the other person - not as the answer to all their problems, but as strong, capable, yet flawed human beings.

Highly recommended!

I am loving this series so far and the different characters that we are introduced to.
Here we meet Artie, a plumber, general handyman and closeted gay man, and Francois, a famous composer and pianist who suffers from a fear of crowds and seems to have a issue with a fan.
Two very different men somehow come together over their love of Francois's music and the feelings they evoke in each other.
This is such a lovely story. You can't help but adore Artie, he just wants to help everyone. He seems settled with his life apart from not revealing his true self to any who know him. It's not until Francois that the possibility of living out was even really thought about. But can two men from such different backgrounds and social classes work? Artie struggles with it the most being from the lower class but it's also easy to read that Francois enjoys Artie's company just as he is and especially when the fish are included, creating their own symphony of music in movement.
Tara's world building is wonderful and it's as though you're right there with the characters as they go on their journey through the book. We have a few great secondary characters who are very supportive and then those that you love to hate. With Francois as a pianist, obviously reading doesn't allow us to listen but when Artie is describing it both internally and to others, it really feels as though you're right there, getting to experience it with him.
It's a wonderful contemporary romance, short and sweet and an easy evening's read.
I definitely recommend the book and the series. It can be read as a standalone, there's only a slight mention of previous characters.
I received an ARC from the publisher and am happily giving a review.

Artie and Francois have my heart! I adored this story and these MCs. I knew I wanted Artie's story after he gave Dusty a wink and asked him out in the last book and I am so happy that the author put him with Francois. In each book of this series, the author does an amazing job of really assigning characteristics to characters who you may not think would have them. Artie was precisely one of those characters. He was a plumber, and while you could tell he was intelligent, he clearly did not think so but he was also completely moved by classical music. He was kind and a hard worker and had a big fish tank and treated his fish like I treat my dog. But these things made his character just seem so real.

Francois was a bit quirky, crazy talented, and saw in Artie was he did not see in himself. They were actually perfect for one another and I just felt so fondly for both of them. There was a little bit of outside conflict in this story that I appreciated because it fit in with the storyline and kept things interesting. There were a few cheesy times but they were all sweet and it worked for me!

This is a very cute romance, but definitely a whirlwind one.

Once the MC’s start to have feelings for each other, everything just goes incredibly fast. I feel like they skip a few steps in the whole let’s get to know each other process. I would have liked it better if the author had given them a bit more time to fall in love.
François and Artie are very sweet together though, and do have a great connection, however fast it came about.

I did really like that music was so important to both men. It felt almost like a third in their relationship and was wonderfully described. A piano and Chopin… what’s not to love about that combination? It gave François all the advantage he needed to woo Artie.

Danger lurks in the crowds of fans that gather to hear François play, however.
When it comes out of the shadows, it does so suddenly and unexpectedly.
A great way to add tension and suspense to the story and give both François and Artie a chance to prove what they’re made of.

Artie’s coming out felt a bit rushed to me, especially the conversation with his family. I feel this was a missed opportunity to add some more emotion and depth to the story, but it did not detract from my overall enjoyment of it.

This was a fun, quick read.

Love You So Special by Tara Lain was given to me in exchange for an honest review. Two men two different worlds. Francois from an affluent life filled with music and his mother. Artie From a middle class life and family is a plumber by trade. Two men who may have never met if not for Artie working in a music hall and hearing what he heard as music of his soul before taking the job with Madame whose pickiness over those who were working on their guest house. Only to find the one who made the music was the owner’s son Francois.

This was a wonderful story where two worlds collide and find that it doesn’t matter where they are from as long as they make each other happy and become each other’s strength when facing hardships that seems almost too much to bear. This book made me happy because it shows that everyone has that special someone they were meant to meet.

Artie's afraid to come out, but for Francois, he just may do it. These two opposites are perfect for each other - the pianist and the plumber. Sounds like a trite fairy tale but Artie and Francois are so sweet together that I couldn't help but fall for them and felt for Artie as he struggled with his identity.

Tara has a really nice way of bringing to life such interesting and real people. I adored Artie, the plumber/ handyman/ knight in shining armor. He is a stand up guy just going through life doing the best he can. He stands up to the dragon - François's mom Juliette - and rescues Francois from evil kidnappers just like a knight should.

I rode the wave of super happy oh that's so awesome down to what the heck went wrong and then back up to awwww with this one. The writing is smooth, the storyline flows easily and I just wanted to rush to the end to get that awww moment during their HEA. Such a feel good story. You can't go wrong with a love at first sight of plumber's crack.

I received this book as an ARC in a contest and have not read the first two in the series.

However, it stands on its own two feet. Artie & Francois are a great couple of opposites attract at surface level, but what really made them click for me is that they have all kinds of commonalities under the surface. As Artie's fish show off one aspect of how colorful he really is in his constrained life so does Francois's personal music push the boundaries of conventions.

I liked how the characters mature over the timeline of the story and how their choices show the risks and chances they are willing to take to achieve their goals.

Artie & Francois will make you reflect on who creates music in your life and how much quieter the world is without someone to listen to the music you make.

This was an amazing book, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book very much. Artie was one special character, he has a heart of gold and a mind like no other. Francois is a brilliantly tallented piano genius, I actually wished I could hear him play in real life, just by the way his music was described it sounded like it would make you cry.
I couldn't get enough of this book, what two sweet and beautiful characters it had just had me from page one. This ks is a book you should not miss because if you even think of missing it you will be sadly at a loss for a light of beauty which is an amazing journey.
Truly grab it now you won't regret it. I can't sing its praises enough.

I loved this story from the beautiful man on the cover to the very last page. There are different kinds of smarts. Francois Desmarais piano prodigy was home schooled and introduced to the best life has to offer. Plummer Artie Haynes was brought up in a blue collar home and public schools. But Artie and Francois can each teach the other. I fell for these two young men and totally enjoyed their story. This story is filled with a terrific cast of characters and will leave you with a smile and a warm heart.

One of the things that I love about Tara Lain’s books are the characters from the very first line you just fall in love with them... There is very little angst and fun to read. In this one Artie is a plumber/carpenter and falls for a classical pianist. Two different worlds come together in a sweet fun read. Artie and Francois made me laugh and smile and cry. Well written and rounded characters and story.

I love this book. Love You So Special was so sweet and Romantic. Both of the MCs are insecure about certain aspects in their lives, and that makes them so hard to trust and love to someone else. Artie is the perfect fit for Francois, and Francois is the perfect fit for Artie. I love the fact that they both were able to bring the best in each other. I know Francois mother always had his best interest at heart but didn't know how to show it. I guess you can this rags to riches love story or enemies to lovers. Either way, it is a great love story.

Tara Lain did a great job with this book. I love this series and I'm looking forward to the next one.

What an amazing story of two individuals falling for each other despite their roots. Artie is a blue collar working man and Francois is a musician of classical music and privilege. But together they show each other more of love and understanding than anyone else in their lives.

Recommend it to anyone loving on opposites attract.
