Her Master's Reckoning

Rate this book
I was a Courtesan. It was in an art gallery where I first met the man who would steal me away. Ours was not a healthy relationship. People would claim to be a Courtesan makes me weak. I would tell them that to be Aiden's Courtesan, you must be strong. That is what it means to live my life. That is what it means to submit fully. That is what it means to be a Courtesan. Aiden believed I wasn't strong enough to overpower him. He believed I wasn't smart enough to play his game. It's finally my turn to take control. It's my chance to prove to Aiden that all his beliefs are... ...WRONG. (Book Four in the Master's Series) Previous Her Master's Courtesan Her Master's Teacher Her Master's Redemption

Genre: Dark Romantic Suspense
Type: Book 4 of 4 from Masters series
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

It’s been five years since Rebecca’s life changed after been taken by Aiden Oliver. As a Courtesan, she learned to submit to her Master’s every whim, but never failed to not make it easy for him. She craved to prove to him that she was as special as he always perceived her to be. But the price to pay might not be worth what they chose to put on the line.

We don’t choose who we love, even if the person who owns us is the sweetest of poisons leading us into a quiet death.

I was both excited and nervous to start this one because Aiden has been my favorite for a long time. He was one of the first dark Master that captured my attention with his ruthless calculated mind. I liked Rebecca too with her rebellious streaks.

This book was a battle of will not only between the two of them but also the other players in the game. I liked how the story kept me guessing who was holding the upper hand. There were old and new characters that changed the dynamics and drove the story to a nail biting ending.

What Aiden was able to do to a woman’s heart was far more traumatizing than what could be done to the body with the sharpest knife.

I loved the story overall but I can’t deny the fact that the conclusion upset me tremendously. It wasn’t unexpected but I have certain ideals and expectations with the characters that were not met. Several of them behaved out of characters which undermined everything that happened in previous books.

Within all of us there are hidden monsters. Who’s to say one is worse than the next?

Her Master’s Reckoning is a tale of tooth and nail fight for supremacy. It would appeal to readers who enjoy dark, kinky romance.

Note:
I would like to wipe out my memory of the first part of the epilogue but thank goodness the second part soothes my depraved soul haha!

Wrapped Around Your Finger
by Gordon Sumner
sung by theThe Police

You consider me the young apprentice
Caught between the Scylla and Charibdes
Hypnotized by you if I should linger
Staring at the ring around your finger
I have only come here seeking knowledge
Things they would not teach me of in college
I can see the destiny you sold turned into a shining band of gold
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your finger
Mephistopheles is not your name
I know what you're up to just the same
I will listen hard to your tuition
You will see it come to its fruition
I'll be wrapped around your finger
I'll be wrapped around your finger
Devil and the deep blue sea behind me
Vanish in the air you'll never find me
I will turn your face to alabaster
When you'll find your servant is your master
You'll be wrapped around my finger
You'll be wrapped around my finger
You'll be wrapped around my finger
Songwriters: Gordon Sumner
(The story of Her Master's Reckoning brought to mind the lyrics of this song in varied ways.)

“Caught between the Scylla and Charibdes”…or in other words… “Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea”

There is complete genius in Lily White’s writing. Period. Full stop. It is never more evident than in this book, her latest offering, Her Master's Reckoning. I feel sorry for those who fear the dark romance and place “knee-jerk” morality judgements on a work of fiction as if they are investigative journalists bent on exposing actual sinister events. Relax…this is a fictional story, and as such, it entertains and how…Holy Moly!!!

The story here is nuanced and layered using character development of the main and even the secondary characters to weave competing and complex motivations in a surprising climax to the plot, a satisfying denouement, and even more surprising epilogue. Ah…but my friends…there is so much more. The character development and resulting deep dive into the dynamic of the dark Master/Courtesan relationship along with the “Society” that supports this type of depredation of unsuspecting human beings allegorically shines a brilliant light on “the gift of love” … and its place in our existence as persons. The author cleverly weighs this “love” against the shadows, addictions, compulsions and/or demons that no one…no matter how sanctimonious they are in their wholesomeness…can escape.

“Everybody in this world has something they need from it. We all have a shadow side, a kink in our personalities, a hunger that leaves us starving, whether we realize it or not.”

Rebecca, the heroine, has been Master Aiden’s Courtesan for five years. He has stopped undertaking the harrowing task of taking an unsuspecting human being and turning them into a Courtesan. He does persist in the lifestyle and membership in the Society where he is reputed to be one of the fiercest Masters. He brags that he has the most unique Courtesan as his pet, Rebecca. She is fully a Courtesan submitting to him with her body retaining the will of a Master. He tells himself that the reason he keeps and has not yet sold her is because she always has held something back from him due to her innate proclivities of a Master. When in fact, Rebecca has given him her heart which ultimately has enabled her to submit willingly and unwittingly she has cornered Aiden with this gift.

Aiden is goaded by his contemporaries in “the Society” into showing that his Courtesan can indeed be a Master and he is asked to allow Rebecca to turn a man who is described as being so abused and mistreated as a sex slave that he is “feral” into a willing Courtesan. Let the games begin.

The author writes the story in alternating first person points of view. An interesting dynamic begins to emerge between Aiden and Rebecca as he watches her dominate the feral male, Christopher. Christopher, as Rebecca’s Courtesan-in-training, emerges as more than what Aiden or even the reader is led to believe. Sparking new ideas in the reader’s mind guessing at how this all might end.

Christopher is a beautiful albeit scarred-all-over man who loves physical pain. He has an eye for the beautiful Rebecca, the woman who is now calling herself his Master. Aiden is surprised and not a little suspicious when Rebecca brings Christopher willingly to heel so quickly. Jealousy and perhaps the fear of losing his Rebecca begins to insinuate itself in Aiden's heart. Christopher goads Aiden as Aiden surreptitiously tries to threaten and interrogate him while Rebecca is not present.

Rebecca herself is playing a game with Aiden while understanding more and more about her Courtesan in training, Christopher, than even Aiden suspects. Her game is “for keeps”. She wants a whole life which hopefully includes Aiden acknowledging his love for her. Aiden seems unaware that Rebecca has…in a sense…mastered him with her heart. His reasoning for refusing to acknowledge his own love for Rebecca seems at times simple at face value. Upon deeper reflection his struggle with acknowledging his love for her let alone committing himself and sacrificing aspects of his life for her is a complex one. The complexity exists in a universal struggle with personal sacrifice and individual identity...something all human beings (save for the pathological narcissists) wrestle with when loving someone…if…they are honest about it.

“He believed I wasn’t strong enough to overpower him. He believed I wasn’t smart enough to outwit him at his own game. He believed he knew everything there was to know about my submissive, yet dangerous, nature. It’s finally my turn to take control. It’s my chance to prove to Aiden that all his beliefs are wrong.” – Rebecca

I was transfixed and transported by the unfolding of this story in all its twists and turns and the competing motivations of the characters. Ms. White leads the reader into a dark world where there is no recognizable moral compass... just rules to preserve the Society (i.e. Keep the members out of jail). In crime dramas and horror shows, darkness has always existed in mainstream entertainment and literature…and more awfully in real life. Is stealing from society in the form of graft and political corruption not reprehensible? Is fomenting unrest and the massive horror of war at the behest of weapons dealers and profiteers even more reprehensible? Is refusing to acknowledge the rights and dignity of persons different from you any less devastating to their safety, freedom and pursuit of happiness than some dark deeds described in this book? Is bullying and traumatizing someone until they commit suicide any less evil? Is appealing to the basest level of a person’s insecurities and prejudices to incite a mob mentality fed on lies and exaggerations ultimately tearing the fabric of a democracy not a dark, dark day for any society?

“Maybe, in the end, we’re all the same. No sin weighing more heavily than the next.”

There is almost a circular shape to or perhaps a spiraling out of the story as we discover the Master who set this game in motion and how the desires of a Courtesan were used to realize the endgame...much like an ending that has a beginning

I recommend reading the entire “Masters” series to all who enjoy a dark delight. Each of the books is a fevered hot telling of dark story that brings out a glimpse of the pure white light of understanding more of ourselves and the miracle that is love. For me, this has never failed to be the delight and the utter genius of Lily White.

In this final volume of the Masters series, five years have passed since Aiden Oliver captured Rebecca to train as a Courtesan. Since then much has transpired with Aiden at the helm, but as complications begin to arise, he isn’t about to back down from a challenge.

“It was my turn to make a choice. Should I become what I knew she’d always wanted of me?”

Alternating in dual POV, the superior and proudly contemptuous aura that is synonymous with Aiden is ever present. However, Rebecca is convinced there is another side to Aiden and she is determined to expose it. With certain variables at play, the stage is set as each act in accord with what is expected.

“It’s psychological, Rebecca, a trick of the mind. You don’t need to be stronger than your opponent, you need to be smarter.”

Throughout the narrative, manipulation and scheming is omnipresent which leads to unexpected reveals and twists along the way. The level of character dimension is rich and complex to support the ongoing dynamic between Aiden and Rebecca. The challenges they face are unique to them and serve to highlight what they both crave. I loved the interplay between these two characters and the constant feeling of unease due to not knowing what would unfold.

“I don’t want to have to think, I just want –" “To feel,” he finished my thought for me. “To exist for one thing alone.”

In starting this book, I was nervous with anticipation to read how the author was going to conclude this series. Throughout, I loved the power play dynamic amongst the characters, along with physical and emotional boundaries that were pushed. However, I cannot reconcile the epilogue, as it undermines the essence of certain characters.

Her Master’s Reckoning is a dark story set in a depraved and dubious world where ruthlessness and wealth reign supreme. This book and series will appeal to those without any boundaries.

Twas the night before ... I checked my new phone ... Thursday, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for a Master looking for a bit of good, old fashioned fun.”

There really, truly is no BDSM book or series that compares to this one!

In HMR, Aiden is, ”the thing that went bump in the night, the ghost that haunted with a chilling cold, the monster under the bed just waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.” In this captivating installment, we get to see new sides of Aiden, things we’ve never seen before!!! A new, male Courtesan is brought into the home, yet this Courtesan is nothing like the others we’ve seen come and go. Nothing!!! Also new and unusual is Rebecca‘s involvement in this Courtesan’s training. I obviously don’t have words to describe how entertaining, shocking and sexy this story is – all I can say is that soooo many depraved, twisted things happen... things you and I could NEVER imagine but luckily for us, Lily White can!!!!

I initially did not rate this, because I only read the book out of curiosity. I wasn't a huge fan of any of the other books in the series. I actually dnf the last two. Yet this book captured my attention from beginning to end. I also think Lily White's writing was at her very best here. The dialogue was a massive improvement from the first book. I enjoyed the character development from both Rebecca and Aiden; it was sorely needed. Anthony was great. Not to mention the plot was well-constructed with several twists. It's my favorite book in the series and the only book I'll even contemplate rereading, so it's only fair to give it a good rating.

Considering that I dnf the past two books and felt very 'meh' about all of them, I think Lily White is amazingly talented by managing to captivate a non-fan and casual observer of the Masters series. If I managed to get into it, I think fans of the series will love this one.

As all the "Dark" authors write books that push boundaries, shock readers and carefully stretch limits, all this while the REAL QUEEN just smirks, perched on the top of the mountain.
THEN she releases her book and BAM ...... Bookworld learns a lesson !!
THAT'S how a dark book is written
THAT'S how an evil alpha MASTER is created
THAT'S  how you a real Dom/Sub relationship is balanced.
I'm in AWE!!
Her Raven black heart is full of variegated stories. Twisted mindfuck is her trope and deranged characters with all the shades of black her trademark. I could never in a million years imagine my self falling in love with Aiden.....but I embarrassingly, shamefully DID!!!
This story has swallowed me whole! I'm submerged and devoured absolutely, and I'm happy being buried alive, no rescue required!!
What a fabulously complex story about a submissive who stumbles upon Real Love and a Dom who can't even spell the word.

description

It takes strength to love a Master such as Aiden. Not just strength of mind. Not just strength of will. Not just strength of body. But mostly strength of heart.
The relationship or if it can even be called that, is at an impasse. Ennui, boredom has crept like vines and choked them. I think it's ran it's course. Brilliant masterstroke by Aiden to challenge Rebecca and she rises majestically to the occasion.

description

A true Queen is born. She learns and follows, notices and records, devises and enacts all the markings and makings of a Dom Master. It's a fantastic game of Dodge & Parry that they play.
We were playing a slow game of chess, my rook sliding left, his queen moving just out of range. I’d align his king before too long.
Certain scenes just had me agape. The scenes between Aiden & Rebecca especially when he's teaching her were unbelievable. Hell sure hath frozen over, pigs certainly learnt to fly cause Lily made such blindsiding moves, I couldn't believe what I was reading.
Lily is ALWAYS in control over her actors. The authors who generally tout that the characters made them do certain things, or they have their own mind, or they chart their own course.... not Lily.

description

“I’ve stripped you of your armor and I’ve stripped you of your sword. You’re vulnerable, you’re unable to fight, what do I do with you now?”
She places them where she wants, they move and act at her discretion and permission. Her characters are true to their form till the very end. No sudden changes of heart, no u-turns of behaviour and no changing trajectories. This is a mark of a bona fide Master, cause I believe an Aiden resides inside of Lily. Unbending, stubborn, unmoving.
So many layers created this mess of a situation, so many intricate knots tied the rope binding my hands while also binding hers.

description

Back to the story. The see-saw of situations, push & pull of emotions keep you guessing till the last moment. The end comes out of the extreme left and whacks you in the face...i was like W.T.F!!! Couldn't believe what happened, who was playing who and how was the story gonna move from this dead end. You have to read it to see the masterful plotting that hides nuanced sentiments and bold moves all in the same chapter. Aiden surprised me, Rebecca stunned me and you will not believe who emerged as the real Master!!!
I think this is the BEST of the series!.

I loved the book but those twists right at the end totally left me in an 'OMG what did I just read' moment

The only other Lily White book that I've read was Wishing Well , which broke my heart and exploded my mind with it's twistyness. So I was taking rather a chance on this, since it is the continuation of Aiden and Rebecca's story, which I was unfamiliar with. I can tell you now that I easily read this as a stand alone. Yes knowing the entire backstory might have enhanced the read, but I still found it one amazing, mesmerising and absolutely brilliant story anyway. There are some spoilers I guess but I know I can read those books and still be able to enjoy them.

Aiden was a manipulative b*$tard, however he was so blinkered by his own power that he underestimated maybe not so much Rebecca's strength but her resolve. He was also blinkered to the very evident truths of his and Rebecca's stuttering relationship. So used to always being in charge and engineering his own way, by whatever means necessary, Aiden made bad choices for maybe good reasons.

Despite her role as a courtesan Rebecca IS strong, my word she found strength even when there seemed to be no hope or no point. She played mind games against the best, and learnt some shocking truths along the way.

This pair had scorching chemistry, and despite not having read their previous two books, I still believed both in them and in their connection with each other. In some ways I'd expected more sex than we got, but it wasn't needed and what we did get was powerful, erotic and hot enough to burn.

I can't finish the review without circling back to that epilogue. Bravo Ms White, I totally didn't see that coming, despite the very obvious pointers throughout the story. It made my smile, it warmed my dark little heart and it very definitely placed this as one of my favourite reads of the year. It also consolidated the knowledge that I need to read the rest of this author's books too.

Her Master’s Courtesan, but with a strange post-#MeToo Sentiment

*self-purchased/read on KU. No need of sugar daddies called promo teams*

What’s this book about? (I'm trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
Aiden and Rebecca don’t have a healthy relationship. Aiden thinks he has the upper hand. Rebecca will prove him wrong.

I call this Dark Romance but post-#MeToo. I have now read three books by Lily White and I will admit that she’s a badass writer who goes places only few people dare to touch upon. As with Courtesan, I was unable to put the book down. The darkness continued, but I have to say this book was less eventful than
I skipped the rest of the series after Courtesan, but now I’m thinking of reading Anthony’s story because he was an intriguing lil ballbuster in Reckoning. Since I haven’t read Anthony’s story in Her Master’s Redemption, I don’t know exactly what to think of him. I want to paint him as one of the angel’s of Reckoning, but I’m also wary.
I liked the premise of this instalment although I found myself not caring about the Master drama earlier on. When Christopher entered the story, I felt like he had lots of potential. I was let down with how things ended. It was a little too much of a puppet-master type of a situation when I had expected something different. (This might change when I read Anthony’s story).

Rebecca has evolved from book one up until now and she evolved throughout this novel, too. She had some GLORIOUS moments. Becky with the good hair SNAPPED. I rooted for her, but, simultaneously, I felt like I was being morally awful by condoning what she did. Then, I remembered that she didn’t ask for this; in a way, she’s been brainwashed and coerced into this situation. Her ending was a bit anti-climactic for my tastes, but that’s just the millennial snowflake in me.

Regarding Aiden, he had it too easy, that’s just my humble opinion. We could’ve gained a lot as readers from a pique into their life post-final chapter. I hope that the events in The Danger You Know really REALLY make him previous regret his decisions in life. He wasn’t as cruel as I remembered him from book one. He seemed broken down most of the book, but the man is so secretive, you can’t even enjoy him being broken down over shit. Like. WTF.

I recommend this to anyone who has no limits/triggers with books. Rebecca and Aiden aren’t healthy and you need to be in a good mental state to read about their tragic story (Aiden created this drama all by himself, SHOTS FIRED).

ORIGINAL COMMENT: After the clever Her Master's Courtesan (I can't decide on a rating for that one), Her Master's Reckoning tried, but it couldn't get there. I'm not asking for the lead guy to not develop. On the contrary, I want him to evolve (especially because he stayed the same in book one. Idc if he took a permanent courtesan; he was still the same bitch he was at the start *angry LOL*). Something was missing and the easy solutions to each problem didn't sit well with me. It was a page turner and it had a little more mystery and drama than book one, I'll give it that!

Lily rules this world, filled with Masters and Courtisans, with a compasionate ruthlesness only she possesses. The eye for detail perfected to meet a Masters approval. The heart she has for those involved so caring.

Aiden is the Master of his Courtisan Rebecca, and has been for a long time. But after another Master makes a mess,he is challenged to prove she can Master a Courtisan, too. As he always stated. His hand forced,he can’t do anything, but accept. Enter Christopher,a damaged Courtisan in need of training. Or is he? There are layers to this man that slowly come to light. Along with cracks in the dynamic between Aiden and Rebecca. A change of the balance between Master and Courtisan, that forces Rebecca’s to make a choice. One that’s difficult, but nessecary. Because Aiden is not a man to accept a change between them.

Forces that work in the shadows ensure he is forced to make choices, too. Ones he doesn’t want to make, ones that break Rebecca’s heart. Is there any hope for them? Is there any way for them to be together after the dust has settled?

Find out for yourself why i loved this final story of my favorite Master and Courtisan.

Thank you,Lily, for your beautiful gift! I really, really loved it!

Oh my heart Aiden Oliver !!!!!! 🖤🖤🖤🖤
Rebecca YOU GO GIRL!!!!

If you didnt love Aiden already this story will change your mind.

Aiden and Rebecca's relationship has been one of my favourites since 2014 and will remain a favourite couple of mine FOREVER!!!

Their relationship is full of surprises just like this book. Lily has given these two a spanking send off!!!!

The mind screws that play out, I love how they each think they are screwing the other when in reality.............there are so many players involved no one has any idea.

Loved seeing Anthony and Sera in the book. Makes me want to go re read thier story.

After so many years of these characters they are still so fresh to me. I do not believe I would ever grow tired if Lily were to keep the story going. (Hint hint wink wink nudge nudge)

Every supporting character Lily gives us always has such an important role, I loved meeting all.

In my opinion Lily White is the master of mind f@$&ery. No one does it better.

This story will make you smile I'm talking a great big full teeth smile!!!! There were so many moments when I was in awe if Rebecca she killed it!!

Lily even got me emotional reading this. Don't tell her I said so, next thing you know she will be writing another and killing everyone off.

Amazing conclusion to an epic story.

Her Master's Reckoning (Masters #4)
By: Lily White
5 Stars

I’ve said it from the day I read Her Master’s Courtesan…The Society is a messed up, head game society! One that I love reading about. This book Her Master’s Reckoning was just what we needed. Filled with the mind games that Aiden is known for tossing out to us, the readers.

It’s been 5 years since the day Aiden acquired his pet, Rebecca. She has been the perfect courtesan for Aiden. Boy has Rebecca grown since the day she became a courtesan!

Now she has everything in place to play the game that Master Aiden is so good at playing… But will she succeed in earning the title that Master Aiden has always bragged about. That his pet is so well trained that she can be the perfect submissive AND she is also so well trained that she is ready to take on her own courtesan earning her the title of Master.

While this is a page turner of a book, there is also a fantastic love story here. Five years of being with someone, feelings develop. More than once Rebecca has told Aiden that she loves him. Yet after all these years, he has not said it once to her.

The cards are all shuffled, and the game is ready to be played. Will the Master eat his words or will a new Master be crowned and finally be freed? This book was everything! What a ride Lily White has taken us on with all the books in this series. A perfect ending to a perfect story!

Aiden, Aiden, Aiden... The psychopath, the brilliant manipulator, the stone cold killer, the ruthless master... The man everyone loves to hate and hates to love. And Rebecca; the defiant courtesan with a will of iron. Five years into their relationship it's time for the final reckoning. The stakes are high: someone's life hangs in the balance, freedom from slavery is there for the claiming, but mutual love between a master and his pet might yet prove unobtainable.

As Rebecca is tasked with the training of a feral male courtesan and is offered the chance to rise to the status of master, will Aiden finally be bested by a master more capable than himself?

Ah... now this was brilliant storytelling. Christopher truly was as interesting catalyst for change - for better or for worse, depending on personal preferences ;-)

Her Master's Reckoning contained just the right amount of smokin' sex, intrigue, hubris and underhanded deals for the players to unravel and for me to enjoy. This book kept me at the edge of my seat up until the very satisfying epilogue. I can only speak for myself, but I was so very pleased with the individual who played the puppeteer this time. I couldn't ask for a more satisfying ending.

4.75 stars and easily the best book in the Masters series.

The fourth book is this amazing series will not disappoint - Lily White plays her minds games well in, Her Master's Reckoning, Master Aiden is known for being the top of his game and alongside him kneels his stunning Courtesan Rebecca.

However.... is Rebecca everything he boosts her to be and will the game finally bring him to his knees ?

Everything you love about this series and so much more, surprises and Masters new and old join in this epic fourth book.

Stellar. Superb. Flawless. Emotionally Gutting. I could go on & on.
Having read all the other books in this series, I am well acquainted with the main characters: Aiden~~ the top Master of the Society, Rebecca~~ his Courtesan & Anthony~~ a retired Master of the Society.
I suppose 'Her Master's Reckoning' could be a standalone but the reader is SERIOUSLY missing the opportunity to truly appreciate the complexity, the machinations, the visceral depth, the intense head games of this book without reading the preceding books in this series.
The knowledge, insights, back stories provided by the previous books lay more than a firm foundation for the characters, they give the reader the framework, the colors, the textures, the nuances to understand just how intense & emotionally gutting this story is. Having traveled the often times harrowing journey of Aiden & Rebecca, as well as Anthony I was both excited & terrified to read this one.
From the beginning it grabbed me by the throat & would not let me go. I read it in one sitting straight simply because I COULD NOT STOP. COULD NOT! One of the over riding reasons I was so enthralled & unable to pause in my reading of this book is the plain fact there were no guarantees what would happen or how it would end because as Aiden has correctly warned us in previous books: he is NOT a good man. He is gorgeous, strong, brilliant, cold, heartless & CRUEL. He has done horrendous things to be the Master he has become.
But his Courtesan, Rebecca, is strong, brilliant, & most of all, patient . . . .
I found this to be an intense story of contrasts, manipulation, cruelty, love, hate & torturous mind games. The author takes the reader prisoner taking them through every range of emotion & I found myself practically sobbing at the end.
A dark, twisted, but superb story in every way that had me enthralled from beginning to end.

This right here.......is the perfect ending for Aidan and Rebecca’s story or has it just begun?
With Aidan being Aidan is arrogance has come back to bite him with him boasting how his courtesan, Rebecca can be both Master and courtesan. With mind games aplenty Rececca give her Master a real run for his money but is that all that is willing to be lost or can love be the casualty as well? Will it or won’t it, that is the question.
The twists, turns and surprises that this story takes you on finally let’s us see just who Aidan and Rebecca truly are when their masks have slipped.

I have loved every slice of the whip, every whack of the belt and every crack of the cane that the Masters series have delivered to us and gave us it all.

Aidan Oliver is the Master to all masters and I loved every wicked moment that was him.

The Game of Master, Slave, Master and Pet is about to begin. Whos pulling the strings? Whos the Puppet Master?.. Let The Game's Begin

I fell in love with Aiden all over again. I dont care who hate him. I see him lol Rebecca and her attempt to change him cracks me up. The have this chemistry that without knowing it they keep each other on their toes. Anthony, Anthony , Anthony what have you done. Aiden is a stupid man and I find it hard to believe he is one step of them all Im not sure this is The End of Aiden

Rebecca (Slave to some,Pet to her Master and Master to her Slave.) training to be a Master has to be the funniest thing ever Oh when Aiden and Anthony both got turned on by her was PRICELESS. Rebecca has loved her life as a slave and now shes seeing she could never love a man whos weak.

Master Aiden he hates that hes has feeling for a Pet he will never admit. So much so he tries to remind Rebecca all the time he will sell her or do as he wishes.

Master Anthony friendship with Aiden and Rebecca is funny Im sorry but I cracked up so much with these 3 they dont know the truly are bestest of friends.

"I'll admit that evil exists in the world in the moment one soul decides to own another."

"Your skin is like milk, creamy ,so pure that it's canvas upon which my form of art is so beautifully displayed."

"This is why you need to remember the fist night I trained you Pet. I'm not his Master. It's not my place to make the introduction to his new life. Only you could do that."

"I know you pain ,even if I have no clue whats already been done to you."

"Do not fuck him ,Pet. For your own sake."

"I never fell. And he's not training her. She is supposed to be training him."

"Speak the Devil's name and he shall appear. You ready to play now?"

"See me for who I really am."

"What a Master gives you is freedom. What a Courtesan gives you is a toy to control."

"Presents don't make women scream like that""Mine do."

"Last lesson:Everything I'm about to do to you, don't let your Courtesan do. The End"

I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

I was a Courtesan. It was in a art gallery where I first met the man who would steal me away. Ours was not a healthy relationship. People would claim to be a Courtesan makes me weak. I would tell them that to be Aiden's Courtesan, you must be strong. That is what it means to live my life. That is what it means to submit fully. That is what it mean to be a Courtesan. Aiden believed I wasn't strong enough to overpower him. He believed I wasn't smart enough to play his game. It's finally my turn to take contorl. It's my chance to prove to Aiden that all his beliefs are wrong.

I am just not really sure how to review this book and not give anything away. In this book it has been five years since Aiden got his pet. Rebecca has been his perfect courtesan. Now however she has everything in line to pay the game that AIden is so good at playing. But is she so well trained as he like to brag about, to be the perfect submissive? is she ready to take her own courtesan and earn herself the title of Master? I am so not answering those questions for you. You have to read and find out. I will say that this is exactly what you expect from Lily White while also being an amazingly beautiful love story. You will fall even more in love with Aiden than you already were and you will see just exactly how much Rebecca has grown. Is it time for Aiden to admit her her how he feels? Can he say those three litte words she so longs to hear. Grab this book and find the answers to so many question. Let the games begin. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the perfect ending to one of the best series there are out there.

For those of you who haven't read the previous books in this series, this review may go over your head. For those who have embarked on this dark, twisted and thoroughly captivating series, this is quite the ride.

Whenever I hear that the great Lily White has a new book out, the thought of whether I'll be reading it is never a question. To be honest, the only question that usually fills my head is, "OMG, where will she take me this time?" Knowing that this installment is a continuation of Rebecca and Aiden, I had no doubt that this was going to be a journey well traveled.

After five years, Rebecca and Aiden's true relationship is put to the test. How? What better way than to bring another Courtesan to train into the house. But wait...it's not exactly Aiden doing the training, it's Rebecca. Why? Because it's time to prove to the Society that she can be exactly what Aiden claimed, both Courtesan AND Master. But is she?

There is NO WAY IN HELL I'm giving any part of this away. If you've read even one of Lily's books, you'd know that writing a review for her books can be difficult because we can all read into it. And what's the fun of that? Nope, you're not getting anything out of me other than to say this...

I never thought I'd actually feel for Aiden, nonetheless, fall for him. But I have.....hard.

Y’all, Lily White is at it again in her newest book release… Her Master’s Reckoning. If you have been reading this series, of course you will be in for a treat in White’s dark mind. Lord have mercy she always pushes my limits in my dark reading love..lol Lily can still make me rock in the corner when I have finished reading that last page. I always sit there thinking…Lily, what is going on in that mind of yours??? Lol

Dang, I am trying to think of the best way to post my review without spoilers and it is sooo hard..lol Just know Lily is here to eff you up ladies and of course she is sooo good in relaying this psycho’ness into her characters and boy do you need to get ready for all those mind games that goes along with it. I love love dark reads and Lily is one of my very fav authors that writes these good ole dark books!!

Rebecca was Aiden’s Courtesan. (Ohhh and I have to say that I love reading about them again.) Their push and pull, their mind games they do to each other is off the charts fan-damn-tastic!! Aiden thinks he is still the boss, but as you know Rebecca Is pretty bad ass as well and she knows just how to push all those buttons.

Soo ladies get ready for that wild ride cuz Her Master’s Reckoning is definitely one Hell of a ride. Even though I have to be so vague in my review..haha

5 Fan-Damn-Tastic Stars from me Lily White!!!! Thank you for another great read!!!

“Calm within chaos. An island within a turbulent sea. It makes a person trapped in the center of that storm want to reach out and grasp onto the calm island so as not to be swept away. Mind games. Every one of them. In everything a Master says and does. Bastards.”

Stagnant and routine, their push and pull has become morosely mundane. Having had five years to learn the nuances of one another the perimeters of the game crush their hopes of changing the rules and exploring something other than their set boundaries. Bringing a problem into a focus unleashes a resolution that will either set them all free to be who they truly are or bring Master Aidan’s rule over his courtesan to an end.

His contemptuous nature and arrogance holds him as captive as she is to his whims, they have evolved past the normal dynamic of Master/Courtesan and have in truth settled into a Dom/Sub relationship, the reality of this mortifies and fills him with horror. Yet the boast of Rebecca having the inner strength and capabilities of a Master haunts him and leads him down a path that forces him to evaluate exactly what they have become. It’s a magnificent power play and yet another layered game of challenge to discover who the true Master is within this circle and you’ll be left slacked jawed when all is revealed!

A wickedly sinful end to this series, with emotional twists and turns and deliciously deviant characters that like to twist the knife just to see what happens. Like a cat toying with a mouse, this author works her reader into a lull of security believing that your characters will end up happily ever after then delivers a death blow that leaves you aghast! It’s quite magnificent and once again does not disappoint.

A five star on your knees read.

Finally! Another Her Master book from one of the queens of darkness, Lily White! This book did not disappoint and was definitely worth the long wait.

We're in Rebecca and Aiden's points of view, and we do get plenty of Anthony as well. I couldn't put this book down, because I just love how dark it can get. Granted, it's not the darkest of the series, but it still has slave training and such. But this time, it's Rebecca doing the training.

The sex is hot and there is just the perfect amount. I didn't feel like the book was mostly sex, which is a good thing. I loved Aiden and Rebecca, as I have from the very beginning. The extra player in this book, Christopher, plays the perfect part of willing slave, but all is not as it seems. There is something larger at play, and you don't find out until the literal last chapter. That blew. my. mind.

I think that the progression of Aiden and Rebecca's relationship throughout this book seemed very natural. Their discourse didn't seem forced and I honestly didn't know if it'd end happily ever after or not, because Lily White is one of those authors that will end a book not so nicely just because that's how she likes it.

I have missed Aiden and his Pet. Lily White masterfully draws out the eroticism between Aiden and Rebecca. Every scene is infused with both sexual strain, and the tension of wondering what lies beneath Aiden's veneer.

Aiden is a stubborn determined man who is known to enjoy games. After being challenged by Anthony and the Society, the game that ensues between him and his Pet could deprive him of more than he is unknowingly wanting to lose. His ambition to perfect his craft of being the best Master has always been at the forefront and it may very well be his downfall.

Rebecca’s strength and ability to be dominated all while having an underlying defiance has held Aiden’s interest throughout the last five years. Her quest to prove herself and in turn prove to Aiden that there is more to their relationship than just master and pet could bring her freedom. Will that freedom cost her everything she covets?

Lily White’s words are impeccable and as always she captures the reader and takes them on a eloquent and indulgent excursion. 5* Climatic Stars!!

Her Master's Reckoning by Lily White is book Four in the Masters series. This covers Rebecca and Aiden story. I felt this could be a standalone book if you wish to do so but there is a underline story line through out the books. This is a dark romance so beware if you are sensitive to the dark side of their relationship and actions. Aiden is a powerful Master took Rebecca and made her into a courtesan about 5 years ago. Rebecca is a strong women who bides her time to show this. When Aiden boast that Rebecca could be either Master or Courtesan he has to prove it to his fellow Masters in the Society. But the courtesan that they give to be trained is a male. That not just all of the tricks and treats we get as readers...there is so much going on that kept me turning the page. Great Dark Hot Story.

4.5 Brilliant Stars!!

Rebecca, has been Master Aiden’s Courtesan for five years, and she has learned to submit to her Master’s every whim, but she's feisty at times, which makes her special in his eyes. This is the excuse he uses to convinced himself and the Society that this is exactly why he has not yet sold this Courtesan.

Rebecca is in love with Aiden, but wants a chance to prove that she has potential for much more, but when the opportunity arises, things may get dangerously intense for everyone involved. Sorry, no spoilers here.

Author Lily White is a master in evoking all kind of emotions on her readers, and creating a sense of place with her fabulous writing/storytelling. It felt so real, I was spellbound throughout the story.

The storyline is masterfully well-written, intense, interesting, exciting, and completely captivating.

I highly recommend this book to all lovers of Dark Kinky Romance!

WoW, what an end to my favourite all time series. More of the dark cruel Master Aiden and his feisty submissive Rebecca.
A book of mind games, blurred lines, deception and darkness the way only Lily can write to keep you on your toes and always second guessing.
I’m giving nothing away except to say it’s a must read for all lovers of Dark Romance.
The epilogue was just a masterpiece so unexpected but a perfect end to a brilliant series.
