I have given this book 5 stars because I enjoy reading end time books in general, however, this series in my opinion was NOT Biblical in it's content. I have read the book of Revelation many times, and the sequence of events seemed to be totally off in this narrative. Persons taking "the mark of the beast" are not able to reverse their choice according to the Bible. Once you have chosen to take the mark, you have chosen your side, that of the Anti-Christ, not our LORD and Savior. I have always said that a book is it's authors baby so to speak, that is they have the liberty to take the story in whatever direction they desire. I don't think, however, that gives them license to change the Biblical narrative of events to their liking. I much prefer a more accurate account. I do not think that caves in Israel is where the remnants will be safely located, I think that most Bible scholars refer to Petra in Jordan to be that location. I did enjoy the Angels that took part in helping, however, again the 144,000 are Jewish men from each of the 12 Tribes of Israel, not just one Tribe, or Gentile believers. These little inconsistencies were a little annoying to me, however, I did read the entire box set, and liked it because there were no unneeded sexual content, swearing, and overall it was a good read. Christians tend to have a difference of opinion of doctrine and that's why it was still enjoyable to read.
The best end times series I’ve ever read - including Left Behind. I was thrilled to read that there will be more to Allie’s story too. The depth of the characters is seldom rivaled, even in secular works. While I might not agree with everything the author has presented, even those things cause me to dig in the Word to find whether I can agree in part at least. Only criticism I might have is the editing. Why is it that even great writers are not deserving of a good editor?
Do not pay attention to low reviews, if you miss reading this series, you have missed a great read! If I could give it a ten, I would! This series is much better than the Left Behind books! Imagine my excitement when I realized, yes, the story goes on! It doesn't matter if you believe in pre trib, mid trib or post trib, these books will not be easily forgotten!
End of time, based on the Bible book of Revelation. Yes, it's a lot of fiction. But this series will make you think, question some of your life choices. The characters are very relatable. Be prepared to laugh, cry, cringe, all emotions are covered! I highly recommend this series to everyone!
A highly intense portrayal of the end times based on biblical prophecy coupled with the author's vivid imagination, this series immerses the reader into those times that are to come. Being carried along in all the events and getting to know the characters, one can only ponder and ask, "Where will I be and what will I do when the "end times" really come? "
I couldn't out this book down! This is the best end times Christian fiction book i have ever read! It sure helps understand how things may play out! I recommend this book to anyone that likes apocolytic fiction or end times fiction! Enjoy and be prepared to be thrilled!
This is the best end of the world series I've ever read and I've read some very good ones. It's very exciting and scary so you read a fiction story so close to Revelations. You can't help to love the characters, you laugh, cry and hurt with them. Great job. Thank you.
I just couldn’t like this series. It could have been an ok series but I feel it disrespected to my LORD & SAVIOR.
It is my first VJ Dunn books & probably my last. I couldn’t accept calling GOD “dad”. I found it highly disrespectful, a popular terminology today doesn’t make it right. GOD gave us His name that we are to call Him to Moses in Exodus, Yahweh (YHWH), "I am" or "He is". Jesus even says to address GOD as “Our Father” in the LORD’s Prayer, not “dad”. The Jews consider the Lord’s name a highly sacred name and we should as well. They even capitalize LORD when addressing our Creator. The Creator & Father of all life, our King & Savior should be addressed with reverence & respect not such informality as “dad”. The LORD is not our “dad”, our dad is one of our earthly human parents. We wouldn’t address the President of the United States, an earthly king or even the apostle Paul as “dude” or “dad” if we met them, so we would show even more respect when addressing our Heavenly Father, not an informal name such as “dad”. I can assure you on judgment day when we stand before our LORD, we will not call our LORD dad, we will be in such admiration & awe that we won’t even be able to speak at all when we stand before the Holy of Holies, that is how reverent our Heavenly Father is, not an informal name such as dad. King David, Moses, Abraham & Yeshua Himself never went before our LORD & called Him “dad”. Revelation 6:9-11, the saints under the throne of God call him "LORD" and "Sovereign LORD," often addressing Him with phrases like "How long, O LORD, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?" - essentially emphasizing HIS holiness, justice, and power to avenge their suffering. They do not address GOD so informally as “dad” Calling God 'Daddy' should be considered irreverent. The term brings the Creator and Father of all life down to the level of humanity. We are to be careful when addressing our Heavenly Father. And should address Him with all the reverence due Him.
I also found this series was written more towards a high school level, which in my opinion is teaching our youth to address our Creator, our King, our LORD & Savior irreverently.
A unique take on the "End Days" tribulation and rapture of Christians. This doesn't follow any particular pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-trib theology. That isn't to say it doesn't follow theology at all, just that, while we know the bible is God's word, I seriously doubt any of us know, for sure, the how, when, and where. We have the idea, as outlined in the Bible, but no one truly knows, or can even begin the fathom how bad it will be. And, have no doubt, it will be bad.
I really "enjoyed" this fictional account of how things will go down. Though I really shouldn't say I "enjoyed" it, as that sounds as if I liked reading how these people had to fight, hide, and lose loved ones. But, what I do mean is that the story pulls you in and keeps your attention. I read all 4 books within a 24 hour period. I didn't want to put it down.
The author was clever in her imaginings and thoughtful in following the word of God. And, yes, there IS a lot of the Word in this story. If you aren't a believer, follower, of Christ this may not be your cup of tea. However, as a believer, I felt she did an excellent job of bring His Word to life.
Told in multiple POV, you get to see people of all ages, and walks of life inside these pages.
My only real problem is that the author needs an editor. She was fantastic in sharing, concisely, God's Word, but the other aspects like missing words, or misused words need to be addressed. They weren't so many that it annoyed me, but were enough to catch my attention.
The hook in reading this book was this: WHAT IF there is no Rapture and you had to go through the Tribulation before the return of Christ if that was your destiny? So, I thought, okay, I love "dystopian type" literature and I believe in the Rapture and Tribulation, so I gave this series a try. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! And it changed my way of thinking, but not in the way that you may think. I am not saying that I no longer believe in the Rapture or that I promote pre-Tribulation, mid-Tribulation, or post-Tribulation. What I am saying is that does it really matter as long as we are united with Christ in the end? Read this series with an open mind to be entertained and also prepare to immersed in the witness to the fact that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
I liked the story. I don't know that I agree with all of the author's views of the end times, but she did keep me entertained. The writing isn't great, I mean how many times does a person "snort" in a day, let alone a whole group of people EVERY SINGLE DAY. Maybe come up with a different verb or adjective. I liked the character development for the most part, but by the end I was losing track of who's who because of just random names here and there. Decent read.
These books kept me reading and kept me focused on God and the coming End. The writing was a little juvenile, and these books would be well suited for young adults or teens. And I hope I never read the words “smirked” or “snorted” in a book again, they were so overused in this series. However, the description of the End Times seemed true to the Bible and I’m glad I read this series. I learned some things I didn’t know about Revelations and I may read other books by this author in the future.
Interesting read. I have always believed in a Pre-Trib Rapture, but this series does give you something to think about. I enjoyed the character development, & the way different ones stepped up when needed to lead. The interaction with the angels were some of my favorite parts.
Also, Jesus was shown to have a cool sense of humor which normally isn't the way the Lord is portrayed. I thought it was fitting & surely the Lord is not serious all the time & enjoys a good laugh with us.
Read this series with an open mind & heart & you will enjoy it.
Story line flows well and characters are interesting. This is a series that will attract those of us that love prophecy. I recommend these stories to the ones that are anxiously awaiting Jesus Christ's retun. I did not agree with the people that had taken the mark being able to change their minds and thus get saved. And I believe that the Church will be Raptured either before the Tribulation starts or in the middle... before the Great Tribulation. I did enjoy reading the series.
Ok ok...people snort a lot. I doubt if I would have even noticed if I hadn’t read the reviews first. If I wasn’t afraid to follow my passion for writing, I would have written this story EXACTLY the way this author did. I have just spent two days completely engrossed, and I just purchased the next saga. I had to promise God I would continue my daily Bible reading FIRST. Lol! Truly one of the very best tellings of the end times I have ever read.
I never write reviews but I wanted to say one thing. Although the author took liberties with the book of Revelation, she was accurate in the dreadfulness of the tribulation. Daniel 12:1 states that the time of trouble will be the worst period of time that the earth has ever gone through so we should expect extreme times to begin very shortly. We live in a time free to prepare ourselves mentally, physically and especially spiritually. Make sure that Christ is your very best friend.
This 4 book set is so well-written, planned out and realistic, i felt i was in an interactive movie. Very intense, but so compelling. The characters are real life people, it felt so "deja vu" even though i have never read a book like this. I would highly recommend these books for anyone who worries about the future. Even though the world is upside down crazy now, God's Word is comforting and soothes our souls. Terrific books!
An amazing book telling of the end of times. As a Christian I have many questions regarding the second coming of Christ, but I only have to believe in Jesus as my savior and accept forgiveness for my many sins, no one can earn their way to heaven. Only Jesus lived a perfect live. I praise God and accept Christ and that is All that matters. A very grateful and thankful reader and Christian!
Great book, definitely worth reading. I think you would have to be at least 15 or 16 years of age to understand it though and stay with the story. I really enjoyed it definitely a step up from the left behind series. I loved the series. Glad there’s going to be another series after it.
This book was well written (except for a couple of things a good editor would have taken care of) and I enjoyed reading it. I don’t normally think of “end times” being enjoyable, but just following where she goes with the story was great. She also uses some good humor. Glad to recommend it to my "Christian friends.
These books were hard to put down. Realistic story line. You felt the author tried to make you understand what the end of days could or would be like. Our world is changing and not for the better. Appropriate quotes from the Bible helped demonstrate how our world is following it’s narrative.
This series is awesome! Definitely a page turner. So many times I would get a really good laugh and other times I would be in tears. At times I would find I needed to pause and thank my Heavenly Dad for loving me so much. Highly recommend this series.
Following these believers on their journey was an emotional rollercoaster. I should not fear but do that we will not be taken pre-trib and that we as Christians need to prepare for what is to come. Sooner than many think. Great character building in this book.
The book started out different from expected. Did a great job explaining end times and Jesus return, also some of the tribulation. I enjoyed the humor. How so many took the mark of the beast was told in a realistic way. I loved reading about Allie! The angel appearances, I could visualize.
I enjoyed this series and look forward to seeing how it continues. I like Christian fiction as long as you can tell that it is fiction because the Bible is the only book that is the truth. This series would be understood and enjoyed by young people especially in my opinion.
You will be absolutely captivated and invested from the first chapter of the first installment , with the end times coming soon you need to read this series .
One of the best stories I’ve ever read. 10 stars out of five. Want an idea of what’s coming, read this story. It lines up with Revelations and brought me closer to God. Well done
This story was amazing. It took me to another realm as l read it. Anytime l get uneasy l will always think back to this story, as it reminds me that l am a believer & have nothing to fear.
