Finding Grey

Rate this book
When being seduced by a rock star, only a fool falls in love.

Sean
The night Dante Sinclair lured me into his dressing room and gave me my first kiss, I was oblivious to one important fact: all rock stars are spoiled narcissists. I learned my lesson when our failed attempt at a reunion left me humiliated and heartbroken.

Now, Dante is booked into the music retreat I run. Years have passed, so I know he won’t recognise me. He’ll have no idea the man cooking his meals and washing his clothes is the same skinny boy he kissed so long ago. And when he begins to look at me like I’m his new favourite muse, my anonymity will be my only protection against the sensuality of his charms.

Dante
Grey. It’s the name I gave to the only boy I ever kissed. He is my favourite memory. The place my mind goes when the expectations of rock stardom threaten to choke me. I barely remember what he looked like, but I’ll never forget the way he made me feel.

When I came to this retreat, my goals were simple: get out of my creative rut and write my new album. But one look into Sean’s eyes is enough to threaten the tenuous control I have over my life. He swears we’ve never met, but there’s a Grey-ness to him that inspires me, even as it makes me ache to satisfy the cravings I’ve denied for so long.

He may not be my Grey—but he’s close enough.

Finding Grey is an exciting MM rock star romance by Australian author Rebecca Raine. Although part of a series, it is a standalone novel with no cliffhanger and a highly satisfying HEA.

Well my last three reads have had couples who pined for each other for years, and I'm ready for the insta-est of loves now. At this point in the world, I'm just tired of waiting for everything. We've been sitting in our houses for over a year. My patience is gone, baby. I need the instantest of gratifications for a while. And maybe a vampire or dragon... and a murder...

Or this!
... wait, is that hell? I don't wanna go there. Just send the hookers. I'm bored and need someone to play Black Jack with.

So, this story spans many years. *sigh* Again.
The couple meet as teenagers, have a make-out sesh and then obsess over each other for the rest of their lives.

But no, Sean would never forget his rock star first love.

So, they meet up eight years later and the old magic that happened between two 15 & 17 year old's strikes again. You know, because hormonal teenage instalove is a lasting thing of beauty.

fashion and love. Timeless, enduring, special.

This story was cute enough. I liked both characters, but it had a lot of those angsty problems that could be cleared up with a simple conversation that they wouldn't have.

A Joyfully Jay review.

4 stars

I liked the opening set up of this book, with the idea of the one person you meet as a teen being someone who changes you forever. Dante may have made a name for himself in the music world, but that’s about all he has. His father is abusive and sees him as a paycheck and, with his father also his manager and the owner of the record label, Dante is forever tied to him. Dante’s father has no problem with the world incorrectly believing that Dante is a drug addicted, spoiled rock star, but if fans knew he liked men, well, that would affect sales.

It’s a chance meeting, where Dante and Sean click immediately. Both men then constantly compare the chemistry they had with each other to all other encounters. Dante is more open with himself about it, but Sean keeps his memories of Dante to himself and locked down tight.

This book is character driven and relationship driven. When the men meet again, Sean of course knows who Dante is and while Dante at first suspects that Sean is his favorite grey-eyed memory, eight years have passed since their one and only meeting.

If I want to be completely honest, I must say that I was bothered by Sean and Dante's relationship timeline. The kiss happened 8 years ago, the failed reunion happened 3 years later and 5 years after that the main story began. I didn't like the first couple of chapters that we like an extended prologue. I am not a huge fan of that kind of storytelling and I can't fault the author for writing that since most of the readers usually appreciate it. Another thing that bothered me is that Sean always seemed to be dating someone when he was meeting Dante after their first encounter and I am not a fan of that.

Dante is hiding in his closet for a very long time which is sad. He is in the closet for some part of the book too and that led to the two of them running circles around each other for a while. This is my first M/M book after an eon and I was really looking forward to it, but in the end, I can't say that I was satisfied. I feel like Sean could do better and find someone who would give him everything he deserves. In my opinion, Dante was a little late on starting doing that. I never doubted Sean's feelings and in Dante's case, I found myself asking if Dante knew Grey in a deep level. That's why I am giving 3-stars to the book. On the bright side, I had no trouble finishing the book and I enjoyed some parts of it. I hope that Gabrielle will be the heroine of the 2nd book and she will have the two men mentioned in this book. If that happens I will definitely read book 2.

This ticked so many of my boxes. Second chances, rock star, first love, gay for you. The story line was so unique as well, I'd definitely say this is a must read.

At 17, Dante is used to being on stage and adored by female fans everywhere. But when he finds a 15 year old boy with a camera backstage at his concert, he's insanely attracted to him and is haunted by his grey eyes for years to come.

Sean has promised himself he won't be made a fool of by a musician. He put his heart on the line to see Dante again three years after they met the first time just to be humiliated. Now, when he comes back into his life five years later, Sean has a chance to put his ill fated crush on Dante to rest.

I was buzzing the entire read. The torturous build up from the first kiss to finally seeing each other again was maddening in the best possible way. The rich writing had me wanting to devour each page and I felt a loss when it was over. I love a dual POV and this was wonderful.

Both MC's were magnificently done and charming as hell. I loved them both and cheered them on the entire way to the end. This was one satisfying read.

What a nice story. I really enjoyed this. Both mc’s were enjoyable and I love their story. I like how even though there were problems they didn’t take long to work out. Hit two of my favorite subjects. Newbie and rockstar. I do wish we got to see what happened when he came out. That was the major problem the entire book and the readers didn’t get to experience what happened, we just heard about it. That was my only gripe about the book.

Other than that great book

New to me author. This is a mm contemporary story set in Australia. Main characters are Sean and Dante. We follow them at three meetings in time. This is a second chance story. Lots of lies made by controlling parents involved. I’ll read this author again.

A very enjoyable story with likeable leads set in my corner of the world. The shifting viewpoints were clearly delineated, the backstory was neatly incorporated, and character angst was kept to acceptable levels. I poached this one off a friend’s want to read list and I’m glad I did.

I don't remember the last time I felt so absolutely consumed by the story like I was with Finding Grey. The moment I have read the summary I rushed to read it, identity porn (I am not sure the other name for this trope) is probably my favorite out of all the romance tropes.

Dante and Sean first meet backstage at one of the concerts Dante was performing at. Dante catching the unknown teenage boy take his photograph feels immediately attracted to him and demands the boy take his picture in private and then also a kiss from the boy as his birthday present, just turning 17. They are interrupted by Dante's father and never learning boy's name Dante dubs him Grey. Couple of years later, following Dante's invitation to Grey, Sean finds himself backstage after another concert with another birthday present for Dante, only for Dante's father to inform him that Dante has stood him up.

I have never expected how tightly Dante and Sean's story would grab me from the very beginning, and their initial sweet encounter, and how much my heart would hurt for discovering about Dante being subjected to all the physical (and mental) abuse by his asshole of a father/manager. Neither did I expect the ache I felt for Sean/Grey after he learned he was forgotten by Dante.

After their failed reunion the story jumps five years ahead and we find Sean working as a host at his father's retreat for musicians. Initially I was confused why would Sean, who was studying photography and who already had some experience as a photographer, be working as a host to a bunch of spoiled musicians. But it was explained immediately after that he put his own career on hold in order to help his family after his father's heart attack and retreat's near bankruptcy which I found believable and which made Sean even more likable as a character than he already was.

Finding out that Dante was arriving to stay as guest at the retreat alone I was relieved but also unhappy that apparently Dante did not manage to escape his abusive father's grasp in the five years that have passed.

Dante's reason for coming to the retreat was to try and write his next album. Immediately after arriving Dante feels attracted to Sean and reminded of Grey, the only boy he ever kissed. His creativity being depleted for a few years now Dante decides to mine deep within himself to the only source he hadn't explored yet, his repressed attraction towards men and to use Sean as his muse. I have to say that I loved the way the author explained Dante's reasoning for finally exploring his deep desires, it made perfect sense to me.

UST between Dante and Sean was off the charts, there were few passages where Dante was yearning for Sean that broke my heart.

I angled the handset away from my mouth, so he wouldn’t hear me sigh. I didn’t want him to hang up, I wanted to keep talking to him. For hours. Like people did in movies when they were on the verge of falling in love. Which was ridiculous. Sean had a boyfriend. And me? Not only had I consciously chosen to be a closet-case, but the most meaningful relationship I’d ever had was with a fucking memory. We weren’t exactly made for each other.

I also loved was the fact that getting to know Sean quickly made Dante want him for himself and not the ghost of Grey he represented in the beginning. For his part Sean continued to struggle between his attraction, past resentment for Grey's perceived treatment by Dante, and guilt of keeping the secret of Grey's identity from Dante. There were so many complex feelings between the two and I ate them all with a big spoon like the most delicious dessert ever invented.

Sean's father, Phil, was another great character, I adored the role he took in some of the most crucial moments when it came to Dante's creativity and Dante and Sean's relationship. Dante's father, Roger, on the other hand was the perfect villain. I dreaded every moment he was in the story and I was relieved his appearance was limited to the beginning and near the end of the story. I was genuinely afraid of the next thing he could do in the name of protecting Dante's career.

I loved this story beginning to end. Dante was not the perfect character. Still I found his characterization and his struggle with his rock star image deeply profound. I could not blame him for being afraid of coming out no matter how much pain it could have caused to his and Sean's future relationship. The best part of the story was how much he has grown in the course of it, and even if I have wanted Roger gone immediately after he was introduced, witnessing Dante become brave enough to stand up to him, all thanks to finding Sean/Grey again, was so much more satisfying to read.

First, I want to thank Rebecca Raine for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Fans of Rebecca Raine fans you are in for a treat with Finding Grey (Return to You, Book 1). This was one of my favorite books that she has written that I have read. She did an amazing job with the characters, I adored the rock star vibe, and the MM romance was an added bonus that topped the cake for me. This was a beautiful storyline that had never been done before. It was unique and fresh and totally outside the box. I love books like that!

I do have to put a warning label on this book. I am a very open-minded reader. I enjoy reading MM Romance and Bisexual romance. However, you the reader may not and that is ok if you don’t. If you are someone who does not care for that type of subject then Rebecca’s book series is not for you.

Kudos has to go to one of my favorite authors Syneca Featherstone who designed Rebecca’s cover. She does amazing work creating masterpieces that are truly amazing. She is tremendously gifted in that aspect. This cover was spot on to what the book was all about.

This book is dedicated to Lisa. Rebecca would not be who she is if she had not met you.

I loved how Dante and Sean originally met and wow that first birthday kiss was to die for! I laughed so hard when they got caught by Dante’s father!!

This is one story I am very interested in continuing the series with. There is so much that could happen with these two characters. The opportunities are endless.

Where to start, well, I guess first, I loved that the author took the book in steps instead of using those pesky flashbacks. We were given enough information from the past to let us know what had happened, but were quickly brought into the present.

Dante and Sean meet backstage at a concert where Dante is performing and they share a steamy kiss, until Dante’s father catches them and runs Sean off. A series of missed opportunities follows over the next 8 years, keeping the boys apart, until they come face to face again when Dante attends a retreat for musicians run by Sean’s father.

This was an enjoyable read. A slow-burn, it takes Dante and Sean a long time to act on their mutual attraction, but the sexual tension between them was palpable. I loved Sean, but I wasn’t so sure about Dante. He seemed a bit of a player and frankly, he was a bit of an ass at first. He rubbed me the wrong way and it took a good portion of the story for me to really warm up to him.

Together, Sean and Dante fit and once these two gave into their attraction, it was hot enough to set my iPad on fire.

The story is well-written and paced reasonably well, but I found it seemed to drag a bit in the middle. Still, this was an enjoyable, sweet and sexy story with a good bit of angst thrown in. Recommendable!

This book starts out as a young adult read but quickly transitions into adult read. This was truly a very good read. It is a book about two young men that meet only to have circumstances tear them apart from almost the moment they meet. Then as adults they have a second chance to see if here is truly something between them they they originally thought there may be. But not without secrets and lies that could rip them apart before hey ever get started again. Rebecca Raine did an amazing job on this book. I was captivated and intrigued by what I was reading. I did not want to put this book down. Then when it was over, I wanted more!!! That is the mark of a great read!!!

Sean is an amateur photographer at a young age. He enjoys being able to travel with his father , who is a musician and plays at many different concerts. This is how he meets a boy who turns his world upside down.

Dante is a rock star and has been since he was 15 years old. His dad is his manager. He pushes Dante hard to accomplish everything that he has so far. A chance meeting changes the course of Dantes reality. When he meets Sean at one of his concerts and ends up kissing him, he knows that Sean is the one for him. But Dante does not know his name and only refers to him as Grey because of his eyes. But when his father walks in and catches them, it is over before it even begins.

Years have past since their first meeting and they have never forgotten the other but with some misunderstandings, it is not going to be all cakes and flowers. There has been misunderstandings that will need to be cleared up and the fact that Sean has changed so much since he was younger and Dante does not know who Sean is... well that is a problem in its own.

Can two men that met at a young age only to not see one another agin for years still have an attraction to the other. Is he fantasy that each man built up about the other, eenough to live up too? Can their misunderstandings be worked out or is everything between them a hopeless cause?

This was a great read. I really enjoyed it and I will definitely be reading the next book in this series when it comes out. Definitely a recommended read!!!

An epic second chance romance with angst and heart!

This was a wonderful, feel-good story about second chances, instant connections and childhood sweethearts. I really enjoyed this story and the journey of youthful innocence to adult desire was done so well. This book will give you all the feels and give you great characters to fall in love with. I liked Rebecca’s take on the rocker image and the second chance romance. I could feel all the emotional entanglements of youthful lust turning into adult desire and it all felt believable and organic as Dante and Sean find their way back to each other. There was a lot of angst and false starts early on and a fair bit of back and forth but once they finally realized what they meant to each other there was no stopping them! I loved that this book is set in my hometown of Brisbane and enjoyed the Australian setting. This book is a great opener to this new series and I look forward to seeing where Rebecca will take us next!!! A great take of a rocker romance!!

Full of humor, real characters who deserve happiness, angst and love. I enjoyed Finding Grey from beginning to end on my 24 hour binge to read it straight through. I love mm romance and this was one of the best I've read in a while. The characters had great chemistry and they made a strong couple.

Massive props to the editor, they were worth their weight in gold. I found zero typos or mistakes in the Kindle Unlimited version of this book, which is near impossibly rare.

I did not love the abusive father who hurt his only child because he was "protecting him." it wasn't enough to take off a star, because boy did I devour this book, but it was a very tragic situation that didn't get resolved on the page. According to one of the first chapters, he belted his child so severely he almost had to be hospitalized - but the child determined the abuse was worth it because he got what he wanted... That sets the reader up to believe this was a regular occurance, and the father was never held accountable for the abuse of the only person left in the world who loved him. Ugh. It just hurt my heart and I wish it had been resolved in some way.

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. I wasn't in the mood for angst or slow burn today, and I wasn't sure how much this would have, but I needed to finish it for a challenge. I'm really glad I gave it a shot. The book was paced really well. The beginning let us get a glimpse at the previous interactions (and almost interactions) between Sean and Dante, and I loved seeing them finally come face to face so many years later. There was quite a bit that each of them had to work out (Sean knowing he was Grey and Dante having to deal with coming out), but I loved how they made it work. I really enjoyed reading their story. I don't typically read MMF books, but I loved Gabi and am really considering continuing on with this series.

Truly enjoyed this story. I usually don't enjoy the rock star trope, as it typically give the MC an excuse to be a jerk. But I was pleasantly surprised by this story and the arc given to Dante. So glad I took a chance on this one!

Nothing wrong with the writing, it’s written well enough even if the trope is rather trite but kudos for a couple of fresh turns on it. The slow burn was suited to the plot but I never managed to catch any real feels of UST or for the characters. Others will enjoy it more, I’m sure.

I loved the idea/blurb of this story, unfortunately, for me, the execution was a bit of a letdown. The writing was good, but I don't know, it was missing something, more passion and chemistry and less detail, maybe? Eh, who knows? *sighs*

I liked Sean, he was adorbs, but I never fully warmed up to Dante. Not only was he in the closet, but he allowed his father to rule his life and career with an iron fist. And don't get me started with his father, because I hated Roger with the fire of a thousand suns, but Dante was 25 during the present portion of the book, old enough to have cut ties with someone who pretty much abused him since he was a kid. I don't care if it was his father and he loved him, it just wasn't healthy. Then we have Sean and Dante together. I loved their chemistry during their first encounter, but it wasn't the same when they got together again. I think the author got lost giving us all kind of details and missed out on showing us why Sean and Dante belonged together. *shrugs*

Anyway, while not my favorite read, it was still good. I loved Phil, Sean's father, and the last third or so of the book made it worth the time I spent reading it. And hey, who knows, perhaps you'll like it more than I did.

Loved this book!! Characters were really well-developed, and I loved them both for their own tortured reasons. It is not too heavy in the rock and roll scene, which I liked. More about writing music and the romance. The teen, sweet kiss start hooked me right in and I couldn’t put it down. The fathers both played a great role too, and the sex was fabulous. This author is new to me, but now I’m a fan!!

“Your memory feels like home to me. So whenever my mind wanders, it always finds its way back to you.” ~ Ranata Suzuki

Does age have anything to do with how deeply you can love someone? Does the fact that you are very young keep you from knowing when your heart has found its way home? It may not seem logical or wise, but love seldom is. At seventeen, rock star Dante Sinclair thinks he has it all, that is, until he kisses his first boy, whose name he never gets to ask before his father bursts in and drives him away. Dante names the boy Grey because of his mesmerizing grey eyes. For years, Dante wars against his bisexuality, never again daring to explore it. Secretly Dante yearns for another chance with the boy who, with one kiss, has stolen his heart.

At fifteen, Sean suspects he’s gay, but after his first kiss from Dante Sinclair, he is certain. Knowing nothing will come of it, but not willing to let go of the moment they shared, Sean sends Dante a birthday present every year. He has no way of knowing whether Dante receives them or even cares, but it’s something Sean feels compelled to do. Five years after the kiss, on Dante’s birthday, he has a concert scheduled in Sean’s hometown. Hoping to reconnect with “Grey”, he puts out a desperate plea on Twitter to ‘Grey’ to come to the concert, knowing that hundreds of “Greys” will show up, but hoping that one of them will be “his Grey”. When Sean sees the tweet, he knows he has to attend. As predicted, there are several others who ‘claim’ to be Grey. Feeling a bit like Cinderella, there to try on the glass slipper, Sean bypasses the crowd, marches up to a security guard, and passes the “Grey test” by answering detailed questions about his encounter with Dante. The guard ushers him into a room to wait for Dante. After about an hour, Dante’s father appears and tells him he need not wait any longer for Dante because he’s already left with his girlfriend. Sean is devastated, leaves Dante’s present there, and goes home.

Sean tries his best to forget Dante, by constantly reminding himself what a fool he was for thinking that a narcissistic rock star could ever care about someone like him. Yet after all these years, Sean can still remember how amazing their one kiss felt and wishes there could have been more. After his Sean’s father retired from the music world, he and his mother opened a ‘Rock Star Retreat’, a place for musicians to get away from their hectic world and recuperate. Sean works there as a host, taking care of their clients’ needs such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. When he learns that their next guest will be none other than Dante Sinclair, he throws a fit! Sean tells his father that he cannot take care of Dante, but his father insists. Sean is angry, but doesn’t want to let his father down. Begrudgingly, he greets Dante and, in a very professional way, explains his duties. With a hint of recognition in his eyes, Dante asks if they have met before. Sean looks straight at him and lies, telling him no. After all these years of resentment, Sean is not about to let Dante off the hook that easily.

This is an endearing love story, reminding me that things are seldom as they first seem. A comedy of errors and a father who cared more about money than his son have kept these two young men apart. Fortunately, they have a matchmaking fairy godfather who provides them with a second chance. Sean is an endearing, talented, and loving man. Dante, although immersed in the rock star mentality, is kind, considerate, and drug free which, in itself, is a rarity in the music world. Thank you, Rebecca, for giving Sean and Dante their hard-earned happy ending.

I fully admit to being a complete sucker for a rockstar romance and this one has the sweetest twist! When we meet rockstar, Dante Sinclair it’s his seventeenth birthday and he’s already been famous for years. What do you give the kid that already has everything? Your almost sixteen your old self’s first kiss!

The boy Dante finds backstage shouldn’t necessarily be beautiful, but he captures all of Dante’s attention. He calls him “Grey” because of the color of his eyes and their kiss is interrupted before he ever learns who the Grey eyed boy is. This birthday begins with a gift of an innocent kiss that quickly heats up and ends with a longing that never quite goes away. It will be years before circumstances throw these two together again and no one better stand in their way this time. The chemistry they had as teenagers is nothing compared to the heat between them as grown men.

This book made me so happy, I really loved the whole thing! It has this sweetness and innocence about it, that longing for something you can’t have. Then...bam! These two are like fire together, even just sitting across the table from each other. It can’t be denied, even as both try to resist. I love all the little things that happen and almost happen leading up to their meeting as adults.

While I was reading, I found myself saying out loud “Come on you guys, this is meant to be” I just loved them so much. I love the banter and friendship between Sean (Grey) and Dante, I especially love whey they finally give in to each other. This book just has all the elements of a great love story and it was a fantastic read!

This story is the slowest burn of all slow-burn romances, making the eventual reveal all the more delicious. However, I also love that adult Dante and Sean connect in friendship even before the weight of their history crashes down. Their story could have taken so many other paths, and this one might not necessarily be the “best” for them, but it’s a lot of fun as a reader.

I certainly don’t blame Sean for his efforts to protect his heart from Dante because even he knows that a happily ever after for them has no place in “reality.” However, these efforts come straight out of the romantic comedy genre, and I’m still giggling over the pool party scenes. As for the other half of this pairing, I adored Dante’s character arc of finding the passion in his music again, followed by his willingness to fight for it.

The reveal itself, in which Dante finally finds his Grey, left me breathless. Possibly because I held my breath from the moment it looked like it might actually happen. The opposite of angst suffused the moment, but it still tugged at every one of my heartstrings. Even better—it wasn’t the end of the story.

Though there is a sequel to this novel, featuring Sean’s best friend, I find that I’m not craving a follow-up to Dante and Sean’s story. It is one of the rare books I’ve found in which I have no desire to “check in” on the couple because they’ve already gone through the hardest part and will ride off into the sunset together.

This book is my second by this author, and I am thoroughly enjoying the change from a contemporary American setting. Modern-day Australia is not so different as to be “exotic,” but it’s nice to spread the love to additional authors around the world.

Honestly an interesting read, and had me coming back even when I felt like I wanted to stop reading.

Only problems were that yes, Dante technically just turned 17 when he "seduced" 15 y/o Grey, but it's admittedly a bit sketchy, for me at least. There's some sort of power imbalance, with Dante being older and him being a rockstar could have easily convinced Grey to kiss him. Then again, their thoughts weren't too impure, and they only got to the grabbing-young-Grey's-ass-to-lift-him-up part of the whole sex thing until Roger caught them together, so it didn't feel wrong for me to read about two young ficfional reens making out. Also, their relationship going through so much betrayal and mistrust at such a young age gives it the whole "star-crossed lovers" feel, which honestly lured me in.

The whole lies thing is meh. Lies can destroy relationships, and I thought Dante would give Sean a hard time because of it, so it was interesting to see the author chose to let Dante just let go of the "betrayals".

The dad was messed up, and it honestly takes a messed up man to do the things he did even if it was "to protect his child", so I commend the author on that.

The ending was... lackluster. I get it, they moved in with each other, I can hear wedding bells ring, blah blah. Idk, I wanted the author to show us Dante and Grey dealing with coming out to the public, not Dante's mknologue telling us about it. Like... Idk, I wanted the ending to be quite strong and showing the blaze of young love, but these hopeful and content undertone were nice too.

A charismatic, multi-faceted, seemingly bad boy rock star, a controlling, abusive, manipulative father, and a captivating young, gay, talented , aspiring photographer. These are the stars of Rebecca Raine's book Finding Grey. A tale that deals with a talented musician who represses a huge part of himself (his sexuality) in order to please his father and seemingly conform to societal norms and images of what a "rock star" should be and act like. Dante exposes this struggle : "...it's public relations and it's a bloody art form...Do you have any idea how hard it is to act like a self-entitled prick...? So what happens when an innocent kiss awakens that part of yourself you have hidden and subsequently haunts you when you deny it? And what happens to the sweet boy he calls "Grey"? The book flashes forward to when Dante, the rock star, and Sean, aka Grey, are thrown together at Sean's dad's retreat resort for musicians. The drama really begins there.... Finding Grey was a pleasant surprise for me. I don't usually read m/m romances, but the rock star and lost love premise has always been a draw for me. A well written book that does contain intimacy between the characters- but everything is so well written and filled with tension and snark that you quickly put aside the sex of the characters and focus on the emotions. *Spoiler* My favorite quote by Dante: "I went to sleep in the one place I'd always dreamed of being- Grey's arms." Awwwwww. Enough said:)

When unrequited finds requited! Fantastic story. You feel each emotion as you travel through. Sean took photos of the rock bands while he follows his dad working the concerts. He was 15 when he met Dante a rising rock star who was 17. After a concert, they met and shared their first kiss with a boy. Neither forgot the other. Dante used the pictures Sean took and calls him Grey. Dante has been looking for whom he called Grey because he neglected to get his name. Dante's dad, Roger is his manager. More manager than dad, he convinced Dante he should ignore his attraction to men as it would ruin his career. They had an opportunity to meet again, but something went wrong. Roger intervened. While they both had fulfilling lives, something was missing. Something vital, life giving and important. They each look in their own ways. Dante reserves two months at The Bard's Retreat hoping to collect himself and write songs for a new album. Sean worked there helping his father, who owned the retreat. Dante, noticed Sean's eyes, but he didn't recognize Sean who elected not to reveal himself. Sean is out and proud, Dante is not. Getting to know each other is a delicate dance. Hopefully they find themselves in perfect sync. What does Roger think about the situation? Will Sean ever reveal himself? Will Dante guess? Excellent story. Very romantic. I received an ARC from Booksprout for a review.

A M/M rockstar romance.

Dante and Sean experienced a moment together when they were younger. It was an experience that remained with both of them. Dante went on to become a huge superstar and his sexuality remained a secret - it didn't fit the reputation his father built for him. But Grey (Dante's nickname for Sean) was his inspiration.

When Dante ends up spending a month at Sean's father's musical retreat to find his muse again, they are finally reunited. But Dante is unaware that Sean is his Grey. Sean has put his career as a photographer on hold to help his family out. When they meet again, it brings back all sorts of memories for Sean and he is determined to protect his heart this time around.

There was a sweetness to this story as Dante struggled to come to terms with his sexuality and wanting to be true to himself. His expression through his music is his truth. Both struggle with the past and their heartbreak leading to plenty of secrets. I enjoyed the fact that, for the most part, it was just the two of them, which gave us the opportunity to get to know them and see their relationship develop without the interference of outside events. This was a really enjoyable read.

They were their first male on male kiss and for Dante Grey was his only male kiss. Dante was 17, rock star and Sean was 16 with a camera taking pictures of the bands and or singers while following his band in the Music Circuit. Sean took pictures of Dante and frosted him one for his 17th birthday.
The. 3 years later Dante’s birthday is here and he’s also in town for his concert and twittered an invite for his Grey to meet him. Sean never gave Dante his real name or number years ago and after finally getting past security Sean and his best friend Gabi wait for Dante but Dante never know Grey came. Only Dante’s father Roger knew and did what he did to keep the two boys apart. He even when too far 3 years past...
5 years comes around and Dante’s songs are tanked and he isn’t writing anything, he needs a retreat. Sean’s father happens to run a retreat for musicians....
Will Dante find out Sean his his Grey eyed boy 8 years ago or will Sean keep the truth hidden deep in his heart to protect him from pain.....

Trigger warning child abuse, you won’t read here daddy his his son but does mention the abuse and the bruises in the beginning

Finding Grey

Finding Grey is a MM Rock Star Romance that is the first of this new series. I haven't read anything from this author til now. When I decided to take a chance on her book. I throughly enjoyed reading Finding Grey from beginning to end.

Dante is your typical up and coming rock star child. Who's pretty much seen it all before he's even 18. That is till he spies a little scrawny little boy taking his photo. And the night would have been perfect if only his father hadn't walked in before he could catch a name. Now he is lost in the sea of music forever thinking of the boy with the grey eyes. Wondering when he may see him again.

Sean will never forget that night and a chaste kiss stolen by rock star he admired so much. With his dreams dashed in a couple weeks after. He takes it upon himself to try and do what he still loves. Photography. He still has all those photo's he took that special night. With those sweet memories, he continues on with a crushed heart. Doing what he loves and helping his dad out. Only his next guest is someone he was expecting...
