Cliffs Notes on Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing

Rate this book
One of Shakespeare's romantic comedies, this play is set in the seaport town of Messina, in Sicily. The drama concerns the "battle of the sexes" and focuses on the barbed wits and intrigues that two sets of lovers and their friends and family create.

Brimming with wit and antagonism, the play has amused and provoked audiences for centuries.

The Cliffs Notes book on Much Ado was a bit disappointing. Take my review with a grain of salt: this is my first Cliffs Notes experience. If you’re reading it for the summaries of the acts, this will work. But the analysis portion drew some conclusions that to me were questionable. Especially for students, personal interpretation is key, and the play itself is so short—I would recommend just reading the original with footnotes.

This wasn't all that helpful....It was very brief on everything and didn't really help me to understand anything deeper than what I figured out on my own.... Really all it did was confirm that what I believed to be happening and going on in the story was right.
