His jet black hair and haunted dark eyes make him irresistible to Laura. Ryder realizes that the biker club life is a dead end street. It’s getting more brutal by the day. But leaving is not an option. At least not alive. His chiseled masculine features and powerful body tell the story of a man who suppresses fear, banishes pain and somehow survives. His looks are close to perfection and he wears his scars as ornaments. When Laura’s wide, shimmering eyes meet his for the first time, is when he knows there’s still more to life. He can’t forget that first kiss with Laura. He needs one more touch of her silky skin. Her raven black hair and glorious curves are tattooed on his brain. In his dreams, the heat of her body melts his heart again and again. A window of opportunity presents itself when the MC’s prez is brutally murdered. But it won’t be easy. He packs his bike and takes off to Philadelphia where he has unfinished business. She can’t get him out of her mind. He was so much harder than anything she’d ever touched. So dangerous and beautiful. But the broken soul and empty eyes almost ruins the handsome exterior that genetics has blessed him with. She wants to help him. He’s getting ready for the fight that will end all fights. ***** All books in the Lonely Rider MC series are stand-alone, steamy hot romance novels with no cheating, no cliff-hangers and HEA.

It’s quite simple actually.
I write hot stories about real men and independent women. And it's no secret; I love bad boys.

Another good book in the Lonely Riders series. This book didn't have anything to do with the biker clubs but instead it was a little bit of mafia.
Ryder was part of the MC that disbanded in the last book. He was a bit sad to see it go because he had the family there and didn't care if he lived or died. When they broke apart he went looking for trouble. Looking for the brother who abandoned him as a young kid and left him as a punching bag for his dad. Or at least until he was a preteen. When he finds his brother that isn't all he finds. He meets Laura.
Laura is the sister of a maniac of a mafia man. Her father used to run it until he passed away and now her older brother does and he is crazy with power and money. He owns her. The only time she is allowed to leave the house is to volunteer at a shelter. For three nights a week she is happy and a normal person until she sees Ryder. Ryder scares her at first because his eyes remind her of her older brother until he catches up with her and she sees it's not destruction in his eyes but pain... the same kind of pain that is in her own.
Ryder wants her but she is too good for him plus she is unavailable. She wants him but is scared to cross her brother... what to do?
Come along for the ride and see what two crazy men will do to get what they want

An Outstanding MC romance full of Danger, suspense and the healing power of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!
I am irrevocably in love with the MC tales written by author Melissa Devenport. They are wild, full of danger and suspense and each one is so completely different from the last, I await each new novel with bated breath. However, Devenport’s novels do have a few things in common. They are phenomenally well written, the characters are richly developed, and Devenport’s descriptive prose pulls readers so far into her stories that real life tends to fade away. . . The stories in Devenport’s LONELY RIDER MC Series also have two things in common. The first commonality would be the brokenness of the characters who find a spark of hope in the eyes of the ONE person who not only sees them for who they are, and then accepts their brokenness and loves them unconditionally. In “RYDER,” that redemptive power of love is an amazing and compelling experience for the reader and makes the novel feel longer and so in-depth because of the emotional relationship Devenport’s words weave between those characters and her readers. In “RYDER” the lost soul goes by the name of Ryder, and his spark is the sweet Laura. I am not sure how Devenport weaves that web, but I’ve experienced it too many times and recognize its presence within author Devenport’s masterful prose. The only drawback I can see is that her novels, like “RYDER”, are nearly impossible to step away from once started, and can leave readers feeling bereft while waiting for the next novel to be published. I voluntarily read and advance copy of “RYDER” and this is my honest, voluntary 5+STAR review. This one is a MUST-BUY for any romance reader, so get your copy today! Happy pages! 😉

Okay. Brutal truth moment here: if I were not already familiar with the incredible writing of Melissa Devenport, there’s a very good chance that I would have put this book down without finishing it. About a third of the way through this story, I was pretty sure this was not the kind of romance I would enjoy. While Ryder was certainly a dark hero I could appreciate, I was having trouble relating to the main female character, Laura, and the decisions she was making.

I’m so glad I appreciate the author’s work enough to stick with this book. Some stories just take more time to evolve and allow the characters to naturally develop, and I believe that’s the case with this astounding novel. Because as I stepped back and stopped trying to judge the actions of the characters so that the story could just unfold as the author intended, I found a stunning romance that left me wonderfully breathless.

This is a truly unusual style of romance; full of intense, irrepressible chemistry between Ryder and Laura. It’s also a fast-paced read packed with suspense, intrigue, and exploitation. Adult language and situations are a part of this story. But so is loyalty, trust, compassion, and hope. Although Ryder is part of a series, it can easily be read as a stand-alone book.

ONE INTENSE EXPERIENCE!!!
OMG! Man, talk about fast and furious. A whirlwind of emotions and events that feed from the excitement and nerve racking tension that brings this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. All twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches and bumps here and there pull you deeper into this raging storyline and hard hitting plot. Throw in all the drama, intrigue, uncertainty, fear, danger and suspense and you have one intense, page turning bombshell that grabs your attention and holds it from start to finish. The characters are complex and so believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphic and detailed it really pulls this bad boy together beautifully. You have no trouble picturing every scenario as it plays out perfectly. Melissa definitely nailed this bad boy 100% on point with such realism it really pulls this bad boy together flawlessly. Remarkable job Melissa, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

Intense, Sexy and captivating

Oh Melissa, Melissa, Melissa, what have you done? I thought that you hit the ball right out of the park with TRACE, boy was I wrong. RYDER was simply epic and magnificent.

The story of Ryder and Laura will capture your heart. It was fast paced, with numerous twists and turns that will quicken your heart rate. The road to love is not an easy one for these two complex characters. I must admit i was reduced to tears on several occasions, such is the realness of their story.

Both Ruder and Laura are broken, however they are not irreparable. They just needed to find someone who believed in them and and who made them feel alive. Someone who was able to love them, no matter who and how they are.

Melissa's words will enthral and entrap you. It was difficult to put this story down, I love it from beginning to end. Absolutely superb and literally breathtaking at times.

This amazing MC Romance demands your undivided attention with its fast-pace, intense writing style, steam, chemistry, drama, and realistic descriptions. The main characters have both substance and depth giving the reader a sense of knowing these characters. The only downside to reading Melissa Devenport's books is the anticipatory wait for the next one to be available. I loved it. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

So well written!

Ryder and Laura's story will just grab your heart and not let go!
Both come from damaged backgrounds and have learned to deal with what life has given them. Even if they are just surviving and not living. Until they meet....
Loved the emotional connection between these two and the journey they take on thier own road to love.
Another great addition to this MC series!

Story of Ryder and Laura. Not much of a MC book tho, I think Ryder only rides his bike once. More of a Mafia underworld storyline but still filled with lots of Melissa's twists and turns so you don't know what is coming next. I enjoyed this book. Can be read as a standalone but better if you read the series in order. 7 books in all. HEA

Heck yeah, Ryder stole my heart from the very beginning!! Score another winner for Melissa Devenport in the Lonely Rider MC Series!!

When your born into a life of crime, a life you never wanted, you learn to live and deal with what you are being told to do whether you like it or not and that’s exactly what Laura was doing until Ryder showed up. He made her feel alive, wanted and safe but knew if they were found out it would be a world of trouble. 🖤🖤
