Infinity's Star

Rate this book
A wizard’s apprentice, Carmella of Infinity, makes an error brewing a spell for capture, inadvertently summoning a Winged Serptilian. Frozen by fear, Carmella watches as the creature attacks her mentor and seizes from him the Runestaff of Alchemar. Upset by the magnitude of her failure, Carmella feels compelled to forsake her magical training and set out on a dangerous and forbidden quest to recover the powerful staff, before the Shadow King, the Enemy of All, can turn it against Infinity.

Along the way, Carmella encounters the henchmen of the Shadow King, Fang Cats, Wailing Wings and more. Aided by an unlikely group of companions, including a rogue named Durt Grimes, Carmella must make her way to the Courts of Peril, even as the Shadow King marshals his armies for war. Deep within that fortress of horrors, she must use magic she no longer wishes to use against a sorcerer of terrible power. All of Everstron depends upon Carmella and her magic, which she must wield against the Shadow King to fulfill her destiny as Infinity’s Star.

David S. Wells first took to fantasy literature as a boy of eight. He made his first attempt to write fiction two years later. However, it was not until 1997 that he first authored The Blood of Logant.

The Blood of Logant has grown into The Dragon Eyes Chronicles, which includes The Fire of Kings, The Sons of Donigan, A Wayward Light, The Basher of Belgandost and The Dragon without Eyes. A seventh manuscript is underway. Wells has written several novels apart from his story about the heroic warrior, Loric of Taeglin, including To Be King of Anthemhar; about a prince who yields to the ruthless survivalist nature of his wicked family, before his goddess rejects him and forces him to learn humility en route to redemption. The Last King of the Rock inspired Wells to revise his other works. That tale likewise restored his belief in pursuing publication. In 2012, Wells published Infinity’s Star, his first e-pub novel, about a wizard’s apprentice, who makes a big mistake brewing the essence of a spell for capture, resulting in the loss of her mentor’s staff to the Shadow King, and then follows her quest to recover it. His current projects include “The Harpist’s” and “The Box of Endless Horizons” series, which he is working to publish as novels.

Apart from writing, Wells’ hobbies include running, reading and painting, along with playing video games and watching sporting events. He has worked full-time in the retail industry, in and around his hometown, Warrenton, Missouri. David S. Wells lives with his beautiful wife Barbara and their lovely children, Rebecca, Johnathan and Cassandra.
