G.K. DeRosa

G.K. De Rosa has been an avid reader from a very young age. In fact, before she could even read, she tried fooling everyone into thinking that she could. At the precocious age of two, while living in Italy, she had memorized an entire children’s book in Italian and expertly turned the pages at the exact right moments of the story. As she grew up, she always enjoyed literature, no doubt having been instilled with a love of story telling from her early years in Catholic school where she was greatly influenced by exemplary teachers who taught her the value of English and Literature. Though she did not pursue writing in college and instead went for the more traditional route of International Business inspired by her love for travel and all things foreign, after a move to New York City, she found her creative writing side calling once again. She began writing a restaurant review blog, City Lights and Tasty Bites, detailing her other passion – food! The hectic hustle and bustle of the city, combined with long commuting times gave her the opportunity to spend more time reading and rekindled a lost love. After reading countless books in many diverse genres over the two years in New York City, and returning to her home state of Florida, she felt compelled to write something for herself. She had always felt particularly drawn to Young Adult novels and having been an eternal romantic at heart, a fantasy romance was a natural choice. She currently lives in South Florida with her real life Prince Charming and their fur baby, Nico the German Shepherd.

Hitched was absolutely charming and so easy to devour. With a richly imagined world and characters that stood out brightly, I have to discover the rest of G.K. DeRosa's books! Especially since the writing was so additive that I binged this whole series is under a week. So if you adore reality tv or books with paranormal creatures, you should check this one out!
I draw in a breath of sultry air and still my racing thoughts. What’s a girl to do with so many choices?

Kimmie-Jayne Starr got the coveted role of playing the Bachlorette on a new tv show, Hitched. She was whisked away to the beautiful island of Mystic Cove, where the filming was to take place. But not everything was at it seemed. You see, Kimmie-Jayne was a human, but the bachelors were all supernatural creatures. She was being set up for the shock of her lifetime to learn that that not only do paranormal creatures exist, but she was falling for some of them too.
The twist. I smack myself for being so stupid as I pace the balcony. After watching so many reality TV shows, I should’ve known there had to be one. Now here I am playing a game that I’m not sure I can win.

There was so much that I loved about this book. Trix and Bash were like her own fairy godmothers. They got her ready before screen time and their playfulness and huge hearts made me like them both from the start. They were ones I'd love to have as friends! Plus I loved watching Kimmie meet all of the bachelors. I was just as overwhelmed as she was, and I was thankful for that first elimination round right away. Then there were fewer guys to remember. Confession time - I made a cheat sheet of the bachelors left after that first elemination. She got one, so why not me too lol!
There’s something weird going on around here and no matter how attractive these guys are, I can’t let it distract me from discovering what that is.

Next came the group dates, and I loved getting to know the bachelors a lot better. I was happily surprised that there were a quite a few of guys who stood out as my favorites, such as Fenix, Flare, Luciano and Cillian. Ohhh I even liked one of the camera guys *smacks self in the forehead*. What can I say? This author knows how to write men that you just want to steal from the book! And I'm super intrigued by Ryder, since I always feel pulled towards the bad guys. But I'm pretty sure we aren't supposed to like him, whoops. But during the group dates, crazy and unexplainable things happened. It left Kimmie questioning what exactly was going on. And as it progressed and got more deadly, I was glued to the pages.
“You see, Ms. Starr, there’s something you don’t know about all of these men. Something the majority of the world doesn’t know. There’s nothing ordinary about the ten remaining bachelors. They have all been keeping a big secret from you.”

With another elimination round, towards the end of the book, we were left with 10 bachelors. And a huge cliffhanger. That cliffhanger had me scrambling to grab that next book right away. Thankfully the whole series is already complete, so I don't have to wait to see what happens next, phew. So if you love paranormal creatures and a fun story that has some twists and turns, then definitely add this one to your tbr.

4.5 Stars, rounded up to 5, after that ending and my desperate need to read the next book.
This story was a cross between the Bachlorette and the Selection with a paranormal twist. I had a lot of fun reading this book, and as it went on more questions started to arise. Esp. the more danger Kimmie Jayne was in. (I am interested to see who and why they are after Kimmie)

I also had fun trying to guess who and what each paranormal being was... and I was quite proud of myself for figuing out several and happy that I was still shocked when others were revealed.

The only thing I wish I could have seen was more development into the relationships. Or at least more interactions with the bachlors. It would have been frustratingly fun to get attached to certain guys only to have them eliminated...although I am sure a lot of that is to come in the next 3 books.

Thank you GK DeRosa for another fun book.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an Upper YA/ NA Paranormal book. It was an easy, fun read full of suspense and paranormal twists.

I really liked this! Definitely like the TV show The Bachelorette fused with The Selection and with a huge supernatural twist.

I mean, not much more I can tell you. Kimmie gets the role on the TV show Hitched, she meets 25 amazing guys, and will eliminate them down. All the way through, she can tell something is going on as accidents and attempts at people's lives are made, and she knows that these guys are not normal.

I was just really confused by all the love interests, personally, 25 is wayyyyy too many for a person like me to remember. So far they all seem quite similar.

If you like the Selection you'll love this.

This series was EXACT what I needed to get out of a reading slump. It was fun, light hearted and full of TV show drama.
One human girl, 25 eligible supernatural bachelors. It has all of the dramatic flair of The Bachelor with a supernatural twist.
I can definitely see myself coming back for a re-read in the future.

Reading Hitched is like indulging in a double frozen custard sundae with caramel, cashews, whipped cream, and a Maraschino cherry: A delightfully decadent treat with little substance but a lot of sweet and gooey satisfaction.

Struggling actress Kimmie-Jayne believes her luck is changing when she lands the role of a lifetime on a new reality show. In the show Hitched, Kimmie will be the lucky bachelorette who gets to choose from 25 smoldering guys and just maybe make a true love connection at the end of it. It’s like a dream come true for small-town girl Kimmie.

Kimmie’s whisked away to a remote island in the South Pacific, but things start to feel hinky shortly after. The special effects are phenomenal - unicorns, mermaids, flying people? And Kimmie sometimes has a hard time remembering things.

Well. While Kimmie is a normal, red-blooded girl, her bachelors are definitely not. In fact, these bachelors aren’t even human. Oh, and someone wants her dead.

This book was short, fun and to the point. You get exactly what is advertised - a reality show with a human bachelorette and 25 hot non humans. It’s paced so that now, Kimmie is down to her final 10 already, which means things will be getting serious with the remaining guys. Looking forward to getting to know the guys better in book two!

Listen. Sometimes you just have to rate a book 5 stars because of how into it you are. This is that book.

This is EXACTLY what I wanted - The Bachelorette with a bunch of supernatural contestants all vying for the heart of a human. And even more - there's a mystery in here as someone is clearly going out of their way to terrorize Kimmie-Jayne. Are they trying to kill her or kill the show? Or both? I don't know but I have to find out.

I already like several of these guys and I loved that there are a variety of supernatural creatures in here and you don't find out who is what until almost the end. Just made it more entertaining for me.

A book 100% written for me. I feel no shame.

This was a really cute premise and reminded me of The Selection. The supernaturals were a surprise and I wish we had a little more before the book ended. I am glad this is a consecutive release, bc that cliffhanger was shocking!

Some things I found a little weird: There is a lack of diversity, the "mexicans" in the beginning of the book were very stereotypical, and while the guys have purple eye or hair, there is one latin man. I also found there were variations of this sentence repeated every few paragraphs "I am doing this show for the exposure to be an actress and I really need the money." Also, Cross character. How it is set up now I will be very disappointed if I read all four books and she picks a human.

Other than those things this book was very enjoyable and I do look forward to seeing what happens after that cliffhanger.

I had so much fun reading Hitched! It’s paranormal romance mixed with fantasy all wrapped up in a juicy mystery. Kimmie-Jayne’s dream is to become an actress, but when she lands the starring role on a dating show, her world is turned upside down. I couldn’t get enough of the sizzling bachelors who are each keeping a very big, possibly dangerous secret. Hitched is not your typical dating show… And someone is trying to sabotage it any way they can.

I’m dying for the next book. I can’t wait to see who Kimmie-Jayne eliminates and who will when her heart. So far, my favs are Cillian, Luciano, Fenix, and Flare. If you like paranormal romance with a thrilling twist, you need this book!

Superb writing from this author but I really like an ending on a book. Characters are well thought out and outstanding qualities. Storytelling is page turning and rambunctious happenings. To pick out a husband from 25 entries, whee. Good reading and now in to the next book.

Surprisingly a very good read. The author gave a much different take on the perspective any other author would've taken of this particular storyline about a "Reality T.V. Show" about a Bachelorette and some suitors. I was a bit impressed with her take of a different kind of "reality show" to spice things up a bit. This is the first time I've read anything by this author and will not be the last for sure since I have every intention of reading the remaining books in this series.

OBSESSED!!!

Totally OBSESSED!!! April 2nd can not come fast enough.

I don’t even know where to begin. The story line is so much more than I had originally thought it would be. I loved trying to figure out what the guys were and how it was going to play into the rest of the series. The language used and the different tonal accents and nuances of the characters is beautiful and hypnotizing.

I would highly recommend this book to readers with a soft spot for paranormals- because yes!

Just don’t read the sample for the next Book! It’s almost a worst tease than the cliffhanger.

Kimmie-Jayne is an aspiring actress who lands the leading role for the next big reality show. ”Hitched” is the newest reality show that puts Kimmie Jayne in a competition where she starts dating 25 super-hot men. She’s having a great time up until freak “accidents” start happening-there is something going on but she can’t quite put her finger on it.

This book is very much modelled on the Bachelor/Bachelorette reality show. It’s a fun storyline and lots of action going on. I will admit that I didn’t love Kimmie that much on her own (no reason in particular) but I loved the boys and her interactions with them made me like her more.

It’s a paranormal romance mixed with fantasy and a dash of mystery all thrown together. I did have a lot of fun reading this book and was addicted!

I can’t wait to read the next one as this had a cliffhanger that took my breath away! I hope in the next instalment we learn more about all the boys and their background-although I have my two firm favourites!!

This book is a definite read for fans of supernaturals, the Selection book series, and reality shows.

Bravo Ms. DeRosa, bravo.

This was such a great start to the series! The bachelors, the intrigue, the production crew - all of it had me wanting to know more, and I sped through the book. Kimmie-Jayne's makeup artists were some of my immediate favorite side characters, and it was nice for her to have friends that she could talk to. Although I thought one of them was stereotypical, he was still lovable, and I found I didn't mind the use of the stereotype.

Of course there were a lot of bachelors to get to know at first, but I thought the author did a great job of splitting them up for dates so we could see a little more of their personalities and get a feel for them along with Kimmie-Jayne. She is a great heroine, and after the first book I felt even more connected to her. She fights through hardship and becomes stronger because of it.

This book is a wild ride in the best way.

Kimmie-Jayne is such fun. This book is fun. I just had the best time reading it! The bachelors were pretty cool too. I can’t wait to read the next one and get to know them a little more.

The plot was fast-paced and intriguing. The twists caught me by surprise at times! I will say I was pleasantly surprised at the supernatural twists as well... it’s not just your typical supernatural creatures.

Oh no.. I made the most horrid mistake and read a spinoff of this series which contains the most important spoiler of all. Her final choice. So here I am book one, already knowing the outcome, and completely confused as to how we are going to get there. I keep looking for little hints and clues but the author hasn't put any forward yet. I have decided that I'm going to just go with the flow and try to really stay oriented in the story. I'll treat this just like I would and actual tv show and pick favorites based on the happenings in each book etc. Of course I'll keep all spoilers to myself as best I can.

Our FMC Kymmie-Jayne has finally had her big break. Cast as the bachelorette in a new TV series dating show Kymmie is on her way to a remote island to pick one out of 25 guys to fall in love with. Super excited for her new adventure Kymmie sets off only to get thrown into a really confusing fantasy dating show. Complete with fake unicorns and everything.. or at least that's what the director is saying. It turns out this dating show is keeping all the secrets and before Kymmie can even learn the truth amidst all the confusion she must start making eliminations. Not only that it looks like someone is out to stop production asap and she is target number 1!

So the author is doing a pretty good job of actually making this seem so much like the real life TV series even with all of the dangerous happenings, and really confusing elements that aren't explained to Kymmie yet. I am already feeling some real connections starting between Kymmie and the guys. Of course as soon as the Scott, Fraser, was introduced I turned into a puddle.. its always the accent.

I can't give anything away of course. Knowing the ending is my burden. I'm super excited to see how the author is going to get us to that ending with what we have so far though.. I have no idea what is coming next.

I really, really, want to be Kimmie-Jayne right now !! G.K.Derosa has moved us into the world of Game Showing, starting with a brood of fantastically handsome men. Each one has a secret dying to come out. I think it is obvious from the moment the men appeared that this was no normal show, and this is what kept me firmly adhered to its pages. Once again this author transports you away from reality and entertains you completely with a creative storyline that gives you mystery, magic, danger and suspense. I felt Kimmie wasnt weak amongst all this madness, just innocent, she was Only a one man woman now bring offered a bounty, so dating skills and boundaries are all new to her. And sometimes you have to kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince. That’s the name of the game. However now someone believes maybe she shouldn’t be so lucky, & firmly makes there feelings known. There appears to be more secrets hiding around every corner. With the producers on edge, and pushing the show forward, there will definitely be more twists & turns to come, keeping that edge of your seat feeling thrumming through each chapter. The Myraid of emotions are all from Kimmie in this book. I hope we will be able to see the POV from some of the guys soon, especially when their secrets are revealed. If you are a fan of G.K.Derosa books, then you won’t be disappointed in Hitched. If you are new to her boundless imagination & creativity, then say goodbye to a normal nights sleep, as she has the fantastic ability to take over you mind, filling it with a smorgasbord of fantasy & wonderful realism in each and every word

I received this e-book for my honest review.

I found this story very intriguing. It reminds me of the Bachelor/Bachelorette with a supernatural spin. My main issue I had was with the character being named Kimmie-Jayne and family named Becky-Sue and Jimmy and an ex named Bobby. I know she is meant to sound like she is an innocent girl from the middle of nowhere but when I think of Missouri, I do not think of that. She is only an hour from St. Louis but she hasn't really seen much, which is not that believable. She also was made to do a cotillion, which is more of a southern thing. To me it feels like the story originally started with her being from like Louisiana or some other southern state and then it was changed last minute. It did follow pretty closely with the Bachelor/Bachelorette line with handing out something if you are staying and a certain number of men going home. They also did the same with group dates. I am looking forward to finding out who is the one being deceitful in the next book. I hope there is more character development in the next book, especially with the male characters.

I mean love this authors books she just transport the reader into the supernatural world with delicately. In this book we see a straggling actress accepting the role to be on a Bachelorette style TV show. I am not saying too much I don't want to ruin the plot. First of all two things I love the most are : romance books and trashy TV shows.
This book combined the took epically not only that but the TV show aspect was not trashy but elegant. Don't you worry drama Queens there was plenty drama that too. It was perfectly balanced. When the book finished I spend a minute trying to swipe right, but not my fellow bookworms I was left with the biggest cliffhanger❤️❤️❤️❤️. For the first time didn't mind. This book made my heart sing and my brain going "haba haba" I want to be in there. And the supernatural aspect is done right. Totally worth the read. I approve this books with 10 stars not five.
Swoon worthy, action worthy, drama worthy better than any reality TV show. 😍😍😍😍

This is the first time I have read this author and I was impressed.

I found the storyline very original and it intrigued me from the start. I thought that the main character was likable and still innocent and naive in some ways, which was endearing. You can't help but like her and root for her to get her big break and succeed.
Then she is chosen and appears to have gotten her break. She is then taken away to start filming and we meet an amazing array of men and other characters that you just can't help but love alot of them. Especially her new stylists Trixie and Bash, who I absolutely adore!

The plot twists and turn are quite interesting, and build as the men get chosen sent home. It is revealed that the men are all super(supernatural) and while it shocks the MC it doesn't scare her enough to dissuade her. I found that I, like the main character habe alot of the male characters I root for and look forward to learning more about.

Totally captivated and left me wanting more. Well done. I can't wait to read the next book and see what happens next after the ending of this book...

This book was amazing! No, amazing is not good enough to describe this book! It's one of those books that you want to finish quickly but at the same time you never want it to end. If 26 hot love interests doesn't get you going nothing will! I liked so many of the guys I can't even decide who I like Kimmie with the best, and I am longing to get my hands on the next book.

The only thing I didn't like about this incredible book was Kimmie-Jayne didn't feel like she was someone who would ever want to be an actress. She was very insecure, easily embarrassed, and bad when it came to male interaction. I can't imagine someone who hates being in the spot light so much wanting anything to do with an acting career.

If you like the Bachelorette you will absolutely love this book! It is action packed and very steamy!

Hitched is the latest in a long line of books I’ve already read by the talented G.K. Derosa, and like all the others, it did not disappoint.

Kimmie is just your average girl trying to make it in the showbiz world, so when she lands the bachelorette role in a new dating show, she’s thrilled. But it’s definitely not your average show, or your average group of bachelors and someone wants Kimmie out…permanently. The idea of a supernatural dating show kept me intrigued and my eyes glued to the pages while I had fun trying to figure out exactly what secret identity everyone was keeping. Some I was able to guess accurately while others completely surprised me. I’ve got some ideas on who the person targeting Kimmie might be, but to figure it out, I’m going to need some more clues, so I say bring on book two!

Hitched is a fun supernatural read with a mystery and I can wait to see what the next book reveals.

An Interesting & Unique Read!! 3.5 Stars 🌟
(Read using Kindle Unlimited)

Kimmie-Jayne Starr moved to Hollywood & is looking for her big break, it's early days. She's just auditioned for a new reality show. It's super secret & her bitchy roommate tries to belittle her opportunity!!😡

She's whisked off on a private jet to a stunning island to meet the Bachelor's. It starts with 25, they're all as hot as hell!🔥😍 Before the first elimination even arrives Kimmie can tell something isn't quite as it seems & then the threats to her life start happening!!😱

This is an intriguing concept & I'm looking forward to reading more!!👍 I did find it a little long winded but the writing is lovely so it's easy to overlook!🌟

This is a wonderfully addicting read. It's hard to put down. One, because it gives you a glimpse into what an actual reality show of this nature would be like and two it's all supernatural hotness. I think some of the guys are actually there to find a mate and some have me puzzled. I found myself trying to guess the nature of each guy right along with Kimmie-Jayne and was equally as surprised as her on some. I love Kimmie-Jayne. Her character as well as some of the guys draws you that much more into the story line. I found I wanted to know more and more about each one. I want books about each one voted off! I'm in love with this series. Oh and can we say what a cliff hanger! Holy smokes.....I can't wait for the next book, well played Ms. DeRosa. I volunteered to read this book.

I received a free copy for an honest review. As much as I love the author, this one wasn't my cup of tea. It felt too reverse harem-y at times. I cannot for the life of me connect with the main character. The best thing about this book is trying to figure out who is messing with the show and its' contestants. Without the whole soulmate factor the love-at-first-sight thing irks me, especially when the person they're competing for, Kimmie, doesn't have any qualities that make her stand out in that position. Some of the contestants are dreamy though. I can't wait to see who she ends up with. I'm hedging my bets.

Kimmie-Jayne Starr thought she was auditioning for your typical reality television role where she could possibly find true love among twenty-five eligible bachelors. that was not what she found and the stakes are higher than she thought. I love how innocent and naive Kimmie-Jayne is in the beginning. The author does an amazing job of developing her character from a wannabe actress into this strong and amazing character by the end of the book. Each obstacle she faces makes her stronger and she is able to learn and grow from them. The plot twists kept me on my toes and kept me guessing as to what would happen next. I am definitely excited about the next installment.
