Nick knew what he wanted, he just thought it was crazy and a little messed up—Okay, a lot messed up.
Everyone knew bullying was wrong. Some deep part of Nick just hadn’t gotten the message. Each time Kyle approached him in school and called him a name or made him feel short and weak it should have made Nick feel terrible. It didn’t. It made his knees shake and sent shameful butterflies racing around in his stomach.
Kyle knew what he wanted—Nick. No second-guessing. No hesitating.
Everyone knew bullying was wrong, but Nick was the only person in school Kyle ever wanted to torment. Something about the way the sexy guy reacted made Kyle desperate. Desperate to touch him…to torment him…to take him…
Story Contains: M/m sexual content, spanking, consensual humiliation play, and BDSM elements.
Authors Note: This is a sweeter version of humiliation play. It is completely consensual and both main characters are enthusiastic about their desires. The heat level is higher than some of my other books, but it is very much a romance at heart. Each book in the series will be a standalone story.

2 “I like you being in charge” stars

He reached out and grabbed my cock, using it as a handle, and he pulled me toward him. It was incredible. Dirty, wicked fantasies flashed through my mind, and I moaned. His voice was deep and quiet as he called me his dirty little slut, but it sounded almost romantic. Tender.
“Who does this little dick belong to?”
“You, Sir.”

I can forgive most things in a book if it provides me with some very good sex. But sadly there was something in this one that just bothered me, really badly.

I would have rated this book much higher if one of the main character’s very toxic behavior wasn’t romanticized throughout the entire book. I actually really enjoyed this, but that part just killed my enjoyment of the book. I don’t mind if my characters are toxic when the book presents them to me as toxic. But I can’t stand it when characters are toxic but the book presents them as lovely and what you should want in a partner.

Brief summary
Kyle and Nick went to high school together. They are now in the summer before college. For a long time, while they were in high school, Kyle called Nick shortie and little guy and it turns Nick on. They happen to both work at the same grocery store for the summer.

First, the humiliation in this was really lovely. It was mostly just sweetness mixed in with some humiliation but it really worked for me here. I really enjoyed the humiliation scenes in this book, they fit the story well and were very enjoyable to read. Also I just loved how Kyle called Nick little guy, it was so hot.

Also, side note, I just fucking love a good humiliation based on someone's dick size, it's so damn hot, especially when it turns the two of them on, it's just so good.

Second, I liked how Kyle researched how to do things safely like spankings before he did them to Nick, that was really sweet. I liked how they discussed things to be sure they both wanted them but the discussions weren’t too overwhelming, there was still plenty of actual humiliation, I really do not like the BDSM books where it feels like I’m reading a textbook about safe sex instead of hot sex, and I was glad that wasn't the case in this one.

And now, let's talk about the problem with this book. I cannot stand when toxic behavior is romanticized and it was the case here, a lot.

At one point Kyle makes a comment that he made sure to push away everyone that ever was interested in Nick because he wanted Nick to himself. And they were barely talking then. Kyle was just obsessed with Nick and didn’t want anyone else to have him. Which is so damn toxic. No. just no.

Also, Kyle asked around their high school so he knew where Nick was going to college so he could apply to be his roommate in college. This was romanticized too like it’s cute. No, it’s not fucking cute, it’s SO creepy. If someone did that to me, I would want to call the police on them, not live happily ever after with them.

Also, I just want to leave this quote from Nick, when he discovers that Kyle asked around to known where he was going to college: ”Yeah, he was nuts, but if he’d been sane, he wouldn’t understand me so much, so I probably couldn’t complain.” Do I even need to explain how problematic this quote is? The poor guy basically thinks that he can only get a toxic boyfriend because he's into kink? That is so sad.

I really don't like when stalking in romanticized, none of this is romantic. I also cannot stand all the jealousy that Kyle had, about possible partners that Nick could have had before they got together. That's none of his concern.

My final point here, being possessive when you're in a relationship with someone? Hot as fuck. Being possessive of someone you have no claim over? Fucking creepy.

This would have been a very sweet and very hot book, that I would have really enjoyed if those characteristics weren't overshadowed by the main character that did really shitty actions that I was meant to believe are romantic and cute when they're just creepy.

M.A. Innes (or Shaw Montgomery, whichever name this author writes under) has the unique ability to endear me to kinks that I never found endearing before. Humility play was definitely on my list of meh, but holy crap, this book is amazing!
I loved that it was not an instalove thing, but that Kyle and Nick had a lot of 'foreplay' before the story started. It made their interaction more believable, and definitely easier to swallow. It also made it way more about the relationship than about the sex.
What I appreciated most in this book was that the humiliation play was exactly that: play. It was clear that Kyle did it because he could see what it did to Nick and got a kick out of that, but that he wasn't really mean at heart. The play was based on real attraction and that grew into love.
Total winner for me and I would love to see a follow up book.

I’ll have nice dreams tonight 😊
this is a filthy read.
It's the introduction of Nick's humiliation-kink. It's a pretty good description of what Kyle's verbal abuse does to him and how Kyle responds to it, but not just from the smutty angle. It was particularly fascinating how Kyle observes how Nick reacts to his every action and how he is careful not to go too far.

When I reached his waist, I paused long enough to give him time to protest. Nothing. No hint to slow it down, no reservations, just open desire and need. 😍

But regardless of that, this is all about sex, respectively, the way towards deflowering Nick. The actual act at the end is quite sudden. Not nice. I think 10 more pages wouldn't have hurt the book.

I don’t share my toys. Are you my toy? Are you my toy to use and tease? 😳

“If you want your cock played with who do you have to beg?” He gasped and arched up away from the wall, chasing my body.
“You, Sir. Please touch me. Please, I need you.”
Sexiest. Fuckin’. Thing. Ever.
🔥

“Every time I call you my little guy from now on, we’re both going to remember this moment and you’ll know I’m picturing your cock. You’ll know that it fits into my hand and that I know your dirty little secret. It’s so small I could keep you hard all the time and no one would see. I’ll make you walk around with your little erection straining, and it’s so tiny no one will even guess. But I will. I’ll know what a little slut you are. My little slut, aren’t you?” 🤤🥵🤤

Okay, I think you get it...

Meh, this was free on KU and I just really didn't want to continue, so I didn't 😛. This wasn't terrible and if you're dipping your toys into some humiliation kink, then I'd probably recommend it.

But if you've read books like Grif's Toy and The Devil Will Do, give this a miss. It'll feel like watching puppies play fighting.

Pretty much, these two guys are 18 year olds and they read that way. I left off when they were about to move in together at college (after three days of being more than bully/bullee).... So yeah......

Fabulous kinky humiliation story between two guys about to leave home for university.

I liked this more than I was expecting, humiliation kink not being my usual thing.

I have an unhealthy love for toxically possessive characters, and Kyle is...well, it's very unhealthy and I want more. He's known for a while that Nick is secretly getting off on being taunted by him and has thwarted everyone else's romantic advances on Nick so he can have him for himself. He's also made sure that he ends up at the same university as Nick, and even mentioned they were friends on his housing application so they could be roommates. Run away from this psycho!

Nick was sweet, he's been lusting after Kyle but thinks it's entirely one-sided until they end up working the same night shift stocking shelves at a supermarket and Kyle tells him to kneel and pass him the boxes. He can see the glint in Kyle's eye and suddenly wonders if he's not more interested than Nick realised.

I appreciated that we got some backstory on the MCs, it makes it all more believable. There's some plot involving their parents and their reaction to them seeing each other, so while it's still like 80% sex it involves just enough other things to keep me engaged.

The sex was well-written, and I liked both perspectives and seeing Nick lose control and get all fuzzy. The orgasm denial was super hot, as was the humiliation kink. They had a good discussion about what they were comfortable doing and Kyle did research and made sure Nick was enjoying himself.

Sexual content: First times, blowjobs, anal sex, toys.
Kink: Humiliation (mostly size related, SPH), spanking, orgasm denial

This ain't a bully book, that's for sure. 😄
But you know what, I'm not even mad about it, because it was kind of sweet, hot and short, so I'm not going to be the trope police here.

🟣 Bi-awakening
🟢 Humiliation kink
🟡 Size difference
🌶️ Spicy
🔴 Smaller MMC is gay; bigger MMC is bi, e/top
🔵 Loses its edge in the 2nd half

This short novella is about Kyle and Nick, two guys who just finished high school, where Nick was bullied by Kyle all the time.
Nick is very short and small and Kyle's a big, muscular guy, but he didn't actually bully Nick.
I liked both characters very much and was completely excited about their story.

Not much was said about their time together in highschool, but Kyle got his bi-awakening with Nick and became obsessed with him, without Nick knowing it. They were obsessed with each other.
Kyle was calling Nick names and taunting him all the time, and Nick made sure Kyle was never suspended, because he liked it.

When they both end up working the same summer job, they start exploring this humiliation kink together.
They end up getting sexually involved and for the first half of the book, the kink was superb, considering they were both almost virgins, they were great at it.

I think this could've been so much better if the story would keep up with this first half; I loved Kyle's dirty talk, I liked the kink, I liked the very small dick, the little guy, the Sir part, Nick's reactions, everything worked, it was amazing.

It gets messy in the second half when they're all of a sudden a couple - that came out of nowhere. They hook up once and without talking about what the other wants or anything, they just end up being a couple, so there's a lot of space in between where they could've had that tension going further, but the author just put a lid on it and cemented the relationship.

🟡 The tension and excitement was a bit lost; for a short novella there were many other things happening and the dialogues present between them and their families were awkward, to say the least.

🔵 They're trying to be cute with that stalking and living together part, but it wasn't cute, Kyle lost his edge a little bit and even though I did enjoy them having a normal interaction outside of the kink part, they seemed like complete amateurs in this second part of the novella, while in the first part they were amazing.

🟢 Everything was repetitive and not that interesting anymore. I think the story wasn't rounded up, so many informations were given and it didn't work together with Kyle and Nick just finding their way to each other, despite the events in highschool.

If you want a short, decent story with humiliation kink and you don't expect much, then try this out, but I personally won't be continuing with the series.

3 stars. One of those books that I read in a couple of hours on my kindle. Nothing spectacular but it was fun for what it was.

The writing was decent though I did get confused between whose chapter I was reading in from time to time. The voices of the two main characters could've been a bit more distinctive. The plot was interesting and I liked the beginning of the book and I liked the ending. The whole middle section I really could've done without. It dragged and brought the whole book down for me. Though I did really like Nick and Kyle and the development of their relationship. For it to have started off the way that it did to the way it ended was pretty good.

Not my favorite that I've read from this author but not bad. I might give the second book a read eventually.

Nick & Kyle know each other from school. Kyle teases Nick & discovers that Nick has some unusual reactions to his teasing. Once they begin working together things take a kinky turn. Kyle is learning what turns Nick on & together they begin exploring the new stuff together. Their relationship grows & evolves as well as their feelings for each other.
It was super sweet & hot but also so loving too.
A beautiful story about figuring out what you want, about families & growing up. One of my favourite yet.. I look forward to more.

* I received an ARC from the author.

This was great. I’ve only read Innes’s more recent long winded books, and wasn’t a huge fan. I’m glad I gave this a shot. Love the “one MC thought they were a freak and a weirdo, the other MC thinks they’re perfect” trope.

I enjoyed this book but it could of been so much more. If this was the first book in Kyle and Nicks story I think I would of really enjoyed it. The author had so much potential for this story to be longer and the beginning but it was so rushed. When I originally picked this book up I thought the sequel followed the same characters but it is different characters. Could of been a higher rating if it was either fleshed out more or if there was more of Kyle and Nicks story

Nick and his high school bully start working together the summer before college. Turns out Kyle only bullied him because he could tell Nick got off on it and now that school’s over he’s going to take their relationship to the next level. This was fun and short - pretty much just pure degradation smut. 3.5⭐️4.5🌶️

Review: This was spicy and really weird & different but in a confused good way? My problems came when there wasn't enough back story, angst, build-up leading to the relationship. The past was explained but I just need a little build up and more connection felt. I loved the idea of this book, and enjoyed trying the bully, degradation kink. Definitely opened my eyes to a whole new world. I feel like a longer bigger book by this author might work for me better. But I can see why alot of people love this one. Good short book.

Big thank you to my Booksta friend Mariah for putting this series on my radar!

Kyle was Nicks highschool "bully " but he craved it because he has a humiliation kink. Kyle noticed and liked his reactions to his teasing and during a summer job they are working before college starts they explore the kink together. Bonus points for Kyle doing research , using safe words and having good communication so he didn't fuck things up. I was here for Kyle's Possessiveness (which bordered on stocking but yolo) and the humiliation acts fit their age and worked for me. I shall now binge the rest of the series 😂

Master, boyfriend, Dom, there was so many things that I could call him. Nothing fit quite right but mine.

This was book 1 in the "Beautiful Shame" series. This was a short quick that was a hot sexy kinky read. Nick gets hot by being humiliated and the guy doing the bullying Kyle. This was a good read these two had some hot chemistry between them. The parents were something else I liked Nick's but didn't like Kyle's. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Kyle & Nick

Ok, so this troupe was a first for me. It was a super sweet humiliation play. No kink shame here, so I'll probably continue reading these. This book is probably a good introduction to those like me who haven't read this specific troupe. Kyle and Nick were perfect for one another. 👌

Kyle bullied Nick during high school. He didn't bully anybody else, just Nick. They went to a school that took bullying very seriously so if Nick had wanted to do something about it, Kyle would've been in a lot of trouble. Instead, he took up for him. The reason for that? The names, the taunts... they turned Nick on. Once Kyle figured that out, he did it more. He did it more because he secretly wanted Nick as much as Nick wanted him.

Now they've graduated and are a few weeks from going off to college. Nick has just gotten his first job stocking overnight at a grocery store. When he arrives for his first shift, he's shocked to see that his old bully (that would be Kyle) also works there and they'll be working closely together. Nick has no problem with that. He's had a crush on Kyle for as long as he can remember. When the shift is over, Kyle gets him out of security camera range and picks up where he left off in high school, only this time there's a bit of touching and playing around.

They start seeing each other away from work which mostly consists of Kyle driving Nick crazy sexually. They do go on a few dates that were nice enough so they were able to get to know each other in other ways. There are issues with both sets of parents, which I felt were handled nicely by both guys, especially Kyle's. Nick's mother had me shaking my head but mainly because she was one of those mothers who didn't believe in giving her child privacy.

I think my biggest issue with this book is that both Kyle and Nick seemed - acted - so young. They're legal so it shouldn't matter but it did. I think it was the interfering mothers and the fact that they both lived at home that took away from their relationship for me. I felt like I was reading a YA book with a ton of sexual situations with at least one character (Kyle) who appeared to be way too experienced in the BDSM aspects than one would expect considering everything else.

Even so, it was a nice enough story if you like mild humiliation kink. I'm not a fan of the bullying but I knew what I was going into when I started the book so that has nothing to do with my rating. I just didn't really feel these two together. The relationship didn't feel equal in any way. I get that that's the point, but Nick was a bit too needy for me.

I’m not normally into humiliation kink but I do like this author and I really wanted to read a book that had a character with a small dick. This series was suggested, so I thought I’d give it a try.

Nick is 18 and likes being humiliated. His bully, for lack of a better word, in high school used to call him “little guy” and sort of talk down to him but Nick secretly got off on it. He gets a new job stocking groceries at night for the summer before college and guess who also works there and gets to train him? That’s right, his bully from high school, Kyle.

Kyle is nice enough but he starts calling Nick “little guy” again and makes him kneel and pats his head like a little kid. Kyle sneaks off with Nick and they end up messing around a bit. Apparently Kyle kind of noticed how Nick used to react to his teasing in high school and looked up humiliation porn to “research” how to treat Nick.

They have some sexy times together but it’s also really sweet. You can tell that they both really like each other and there are moments where Kyle shows Nick that he actually cares about him.

So Nick was a smaller guy and it’s mentioned that he may have a small cock, but I’m not sure exactly how small. Not sure if it was said in that whole humiliation way or if it was for real. Who knows. I’m going with it...

The end was super cute. It made me happy for them both. This is the kind of story I really like. Even if it’s not my kink or I wouldn’t ever want it done to me, I can appreciate that Nick gets exactly what he wants and that Kyle cares enough about him to give him that. Loved it.

2.5 stars. Fun, and very hot, but I'm having trouble thinking of anything else I want to say about it. The ubiquitous novella conundrum (well, not ubiquitous, because there are very short books that have captured my whole heart). I'm not into bully romances, but this is different; it takes place in the weeks after high school and before college. Nick has been struggling with his feelings for Kyle, a guy who relentlessly teased him at school, but Nick went out of his way to make sure Kyle didn't stop/get in trouble for it. They start working together at a store and it snowballs into experimentation and a relationship. And it was, again, fun and hot. I got annoyed over some very tiny things (the mother being written/treated as a joke) but overall this was fine.

I read this simply because I've read everything else by this author . When I read the blurb and I saw humiliation play I wasn't sure it would be for me. I was proven wrong. The main MC's are so sweet and loveable and you can see this is what he needs and wants its done in a sexy way not in a mean way. Anyone who is put off by the idea should definitely give it a try . You will be pleasantly surprised.

Well written and engaging coming of age story. Two high school boys discovering what a turn on their kinks can be, especially when played out with one another. Author uses each boy's POV in alternating chapters but since there isn't any conflict between them and they both want the same thing (to be together), I frequently forgot whose POV I was reading. Best for those dipping a toe into the D/S pool for the first time.
