This COULD have been a brilliant MC read, but missed on a couple of levels, to make an MC believable in my book you need a bit more angst, a lot more bad ass bikers and a Lead male role you hate to love. Ember I loved, but what spoiled it for me was this very young very sheltered girl, was taught martial arts how to use a gun, while been kept in an Orphanage, err why the hell would she have needed anyone's help escaping she had everything she needed money and ways to protect herself, obviously the story was engineered to go the way it did, but this is were the book failed for me. The bikers were not believable except Phoenix whom I loved. He was the best part of the book. I wasn't keen on Dash at all, he took this so
called vulnerable young girl and without even asking her decided she was his, end of discussion, she had been kept under lock and key for years, not allowed to talk to anyone else. yet here she was giving it up to the first person who showed an interest. Dash was harsh with her when it came to the sex scenes, smacking her ass, she would have had no idea what all that mean't and for such a young girl who had, had a bad upbringing to just fall straight into bed with the first man she encountered just didn't ring true. It was in a word to SWEET for an MC, yes there were scenes in the book that were incredible, but it was like following a dot to dot you could almost follow the plot line. The ending seemed to come at you like a freight train. There was a lot of unanswered questions, Reese her friend for one, I didn't like her brother Carbon, I do hope the next book is a continuation of this story. I want to know what happens to Octavia, and his son.I want to know more about Ember and Phoenix .A good effort and I will read the next one in the series. Good try though.
