Compliant parents are what Julianna loves most about her job. Thankfully, most patients listen to her. After all, she is a nurse. Yet even the most well-intentioned parents can push back, especially when it comes to vaccinating their children. Paulina and Reuben Gonzalez wrestle with the decision whether to vaccinate their new baby for hepatitis B and, eventually, fifteen other diseases. The very mention of infectious disease strikes fear into the heart of every parent, so they want to make the right choice. There are those in the medical profession who believe vaccines are so critical they should be mandatory, and others who acknowledge that vaccines have risks that must be considered. As the Gonzalez’s and dozens of other families, doctors, nurses, reporters, and politicians come together in an open, honest, and sometimes heated dialogue to explore the truths at the root of their beliefs, their lives provide a fascinating perspective on one of the most polarizing issues of our time.
Excellent book! Finally, the truth is coming out about vaccines and their dangers. The pharma industry can't be trusted in most cases, why are people so trusting concerning vaccines? There is so much brainwashing going on. Please get educated and stop poisoning your babies and children. Just reading the package inserts (if your doctor will even let you) is an education!
Very good. The more I read, the more I liked. Many of the early chapters reflect my wife's and my own experiences with doctors and other medical personnel when it comes to the administration of vaccines. My only complaints about the book are the lack of references internally (They are listed at the author's website - johnphillipryan.com, but it's harder to go a look there while you have book in hand actively reading.), and a tendency to make the same sort of biased presentation that the militant pro-vaxx community does, i.e., give hard numbers where they can seem scary, but obscure them when trying to downplay a risk or severity. One particular thing the book expresses, which I have long thought as well, is that the majority of people who blindly follow the CDC schedule resent those who don't for not taking the the same chances they do, rather than the ludicrous ideas of herd immunity and risk to immunocompromised children put forth by mass media. Al in all, a book well worth reading, exposing the faulty science that lies behind the current hysteria of those promoted mandatory vaccinations for everything Big Pharma can come up with now or in the future.
Antivaxx fanfiction. This is an entirely fictional-- by the author's own admission--"account" of the vaccine debate.
It's written by Dr. Bob Sears whom I suppose is exploring a literary career since he's about to lose his medical career. He's already shilling for this book on his own Facebook.
