M. kills Maha's mother in a car accident. He flees. He retains Maha's cry. Later he sees her telling the drama on television. Maha, 19, half-Asian, half-Caribbean, has a stunning beauty. M., radio host, decides to make a song from Maha's cry and to create a star. The myth of Maha, the métis with a cosmic voice, grows gradually.
The writing of Patrick Grainville is elegant and precise, sensual and violent, perfect. The writer paints desire, jealousy, fame, manipulation, despair and madness with uncanny accuracy.
