A Heart Divided

How can one’s heart be divided without someone feeling left out, even if it’s yourself?

That was the challenge Mickey Payne, bass player for the band Social Sinners, was tasked with when he fell in love with two men. “The heart wants what the heart wants, and you’d be a fool to deny it,” his mother told him when he brought his concerns to her over the unconventional relationship he was in.

Entering into the triad, he of course had his reservations, but all doubt gets cast aside when they need his help.

Will his heart be able to survive?

They are back in full force. After the accident that changed their lives, the guys embark on another tour across America with their friends Maiden Voyage. Whereas Stoli's and Joey's story was told over two books and featured angst and drama, Mickey's book was fast paced in the romance department and and featured what everyone got to calling the blond brigade. I really liked the meeting and the sealing of the deal. Better yet, I liked that Mickey, used to getting whomever and whatever he wanted since rising to the top had to fight the fight of the warrior to convince his men that he was one hundred and sold on what was being offered.

He was not looking for love, it came looking for him.

As a bassist for the group Social Sinners with his best friends, Mickey was living the new life that had found them. With more groupies and fans than he could handle, Mickey knew that it was all for the taking until two blond headed "twins" made eye contact and Mickey was hooked, line and sinker.

And fans of the guys are going to get time and again surprises and with crossover from another fabulous writer, as some of those characters are introduced and play an important role as drama unfolds. Trust me when I say, we still get rock stars and brotherhood. You won't be disappointed. So sit back for a a wedding or two, twin action, a kidnapping and a surprise that is bound to leave the readers with their jaws dropped. It was all I had hoped for. You did it again TL. Cannot wait for Book 4 - Beyond the Curtain tentative date: 6/18/19

I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author.

I just love this series and the guys that make up Social Sinners. Each of them bring their own unique thing to their band and each of them consider each other family. When I read their books I have found myself laughing at times, crying at other times, and even wanting to smack at least one and sometimes even more then one of them for whatever dumb thing they did at the time. All in all each of these books is just simply amazing reads. This book was probably one of my favorites so far but that was because I have always had a soft spot for Mickey, and this is his story.

Mickey is one of those in the band, besides Diamond, that is going to be forever single and a player. Well that is what Mickey thought anyway. But life has a way of putting in front of you what you need and what you have been missing.

When Mick meets Benny and River, these two men took him by surprise. Benny and River have been together since they was in grade school. So when the approached Mick and eventually got around to asking him if he would like to have some fun with them for the night, Mick knew that he was in trouble. What was supposed to be just one night turns into more nights just like the first. Mick knows that he is starting to view these two as his but they aren’t. So when it is time to start touring again, Mick thinks this will help him to put things back In perspective once agin for him.

But again life throws you those little loops that leave you spinning. When Benny and River ask to meet up with Mick at one of his concerts, Mick is both excited and wary. He knows that he is starting to have feelings for them but he does not know if they feel the same.

This seems to be one of the turning points for these three men but it is also the start of a disaster waiting to happen as well. How will Mick handle the inevitable fallout? Will the band be able to hold things together if Mick ends up spiraling? What will happen to the band when danger seems to be around th corner?

This was such an amazing read and I love how even though this is Mick’s story, there is also the continuation of the other guys stories as well. And I love how this ended with a teaser for Diamond’s book. That one is going to be explosive. I cannot wait to get my hands on it when it comes available. T.L. Travis did an incredible job on this book and I look forward to more in the future.

Mickey played such a secondary role in the first two books, I was hoping that Diamond’s story would be next. However, this one surprised me. Mickey surprised me…and that is a great thing. We still get a healthy dose of Joey, Stoli, Diamond, and their group antics, but we finally get to see what makes Mickey tick. And what makes Mickey tick are two blond twinks named, Benny and River, AKA the “twins”. They are not twins, per se, they are a committed couple who happen to sometimes like to play with a third, who are small in stature and have blond hair and blue eyes. But none of them expected that third to be Mickey, nor to be permanent.

In addition, we get further insight into the band Maiden Voyage, who they look up to and tour with, and have become like family. That was proven in the last book, and continues in this one. I have a suspicion that Maiden Voyage will be having a series of their own. Hopefully. I would really love that as many secrets are hidden, alluded to, or just touched on in this series.

But back to Mickey and the twins. It is important to note that Mickey has never had a serious relationship, and the threesome said from jump street that it was just casual. Until it’s not, and until Mickey gets drunk, and until the appearance of ‘cheating’ causes a riff. Now, I am one that cheating doesn’t bother me in a book, and here, to me, this was not cheating as they never, not once, made a commitment, and Mickey was so gone he did not even realize the twink on his lap was not Benny. So, others will whine, I am sure, as that part tore them apart, and then, in a way, brought them together. Well, that and Diamond, and Stoli, and River’s bad health. So, yeah, there was a lot crammed into this story, but it was a great continuation from the first two and now I need to grab Diamond’s book next. I am not ready to let the Social Sinner go, just yet, and that is probably the best review I can give.

Overall Impression: I really liked it

Social Sinners

The Social Sinners, Joseph “Joey” and Ricky “Stoli”, never remembering a time when they weren't friends. Mick “Mickey” and Ethan “Diamond” joining them in high school. Outcasts for various reasons, when they started their garage band their name choice became obvious to them.

Mickey really envies the feelings between Joe and Stoli. He wants that kind of commitment and passion in his life. When he spends the night with Benny and River, “his twins”, he didn’t expect the feelings that overwhelmed him. When they came back into his life, he was elated, then he screws it up again.

With the help of his band mates he knows “Family doesn’t need blood to form a bond, it only needs to have a heart”, and this story had heart in abundance. Be prepared for drama, lots of drama. But even with that, this was still a feel good kind of story. The Social Sinners have a knack for coming out the other side of trauma with their shiny outlook still intact.

OMG!!! I love this series. This author is quickly pushing into my top five. Let me start by saying please please don’t attempt to read this if you haven’t read the other books in the set. There are points of view and dynamics to grasp from the beginning. That being said any relationship ain’t easy but I love the way this one was weaved. I could feel every emotion, sexual experience, and music note through the pages. Looking forward to the next one.

I read and voluntarily reviewed an arc of this story.

This was another amazing offering in the Social Sinners series. This one follows Mickey as what was supposed to be a one-and-done experience with a couple turns into so much more. I absolutely love this series and it's great cast of characters. I can't wait to read book four.

The more Social Sinners stories I read, the more I WANT WANT WANT. I had absolutely NO CLUE how Mickey's story would go but yeah....I do absolute LOVE where it went. TL Travis brings together our heavy metal band with all it's heart and soul with some of the reality that exists in the real world for many of the bands that exist...and even more so with many of the popular celebrities that are out. Mickey never in his wildest dreams expected that he would fall for not only one man but two. How do you divide your heart and still keep it whole? Full of steam and suspense...all I can say is bring me more please!

I know I am in the minority here but I feel like so much is going on in the story you don't get a great romance or mystery. It's just an okay romance with no mystery. I am not even sure of the point the author was trying to make or why that was even in the story?!?!?? I have been waiting for Diamond's story, I hope it wows better than the rest.

Another awesome read from this author. I am loving this series. A Heart Divided is the third book in the new series Social Sinners. It had me hooked from the start and I didn't want to put it down. I also love the cover model lol, Ant is the bassist of my favourite band.

I have to tell you…this series just keeps getting better and better!!!! We are finally getting Mickey’s story and it’s a doozy! If you know me at all you know that I just love poly stories.

Mickey hasn’t done the relationship thing. It’s not like he doesn’t have the family support like Diamond doesn’t. It’s just that he just wasn’t ready yet. When the “twins” River and Benny ask Mickey to come and join them in some “fun times” he realizes that he can’t say no. They are his kryptonite “twink blond kink” only times two! But can once be enough when Mickey finally realizes that his hookups lately haven’t been very satisfying and these two just do it for him!

These guys are the perfect threesome! They are adventurous, sexy as hell and the perfect match. I know that Mickey has been watching Stoli and Joey finally accept the inevitable and commit to each other. Even Stoli’s mom and Joey’s dad have someone now in their lives. And he begun to realize that the the hookups with the fans just haven’t been doing it for him. He has even come to realization that he had more or less been backing off from the mindless sex. When River and Benny blew him away that night and then shocked him by reaching out to him for more he was pretty confused. Then they ask if they can come visit him on tour and I think he was a tad bit spooked. These two amazing guys are just as into him as they are to each other.

I did have a bit of a problem with River being quite so loose with his heart care. I know that 26 is not old but it’s old enough to know what is good for you and what might kill you if you have a congenital heart defect! And repeating mistakes is just plain stupid and reckless.

These guys really did it for me though and I am hoping that we will see more of this triad in the future. They were perfect together and this book totally rocked!

Now I can’t wait for Diamond and Easton’s story!!

What I enjoy the most about this series is that it doesn't focus solely on the romance. Each book focuses on one band member and follows along as they navigate all aspects of life.

Book 3 focuses on Mickey, the bassist for Social Sinners. He is fun-loving, has casual hookups, and is generally enjoying his life. He meets up with a couple who invites Mickey into their bed--something this couple does often and has a strict no repeats rule. Except for Mickey. They offer a repeat because the three felt something magical the first time they were together. Unfortunately, that something did not come through for me. The chemistry and romance wasn't there. Their relationship develops extremely quickly (No criticism there; I appreciate a good instalove story when done well.) with "I love you's" being thrown around. Again, those emotions didn't come through for me.

Also, a lot of the dialogue was pretty juvenile. I know these are guys in their mid- to late-twenties and are in a rock band, but I kinda expected them to act a bit more grown up. One particular scene when everyone gets on eyeful of the three in the middle of sexy times made me cringe. Oh, and I also cringed at a bachelor/bachelorette party scene which came off as distasteful. Even the parents were a bit childish.

Some of the drama was off-the-wall and resolved way to quickly for my satisfaction. Honestly, I could have done without the homophobic parents and botched kidnapping. Those plot points didn't add anything to the story and didn't help me connect with the characters.

I did enjoy getting more of Joey and Stoli and the progression of their relationship, as well as glimpses of other characters/family members. I really am looking forward to Diamond's story to find out what exactly has been going on with Easton.

This book was provided for free by the author in exchange for an honest review via the MMRG Don’t Buy My Love Program, and it was an exceptional introduction for me to this author, and this series. Yes, I jumped in with book 3, but never felt like I was at a disadvantage. I did, however, decide that not having read the other books in the series is a problem I will be rectifying in short order. I was most impressed by the character development and the interactions in this book. Each character was a strong individual with something unique to invest in the story and in the circle of family and friends that swirls throughout this book. They were unquestionably loyal and supportive, unafraid to be vulnerable yet brave in the face of misfortune, plain spoken when necessary, and generous with love, laughter, and acceptance. The setting was fast paced and varied, which is to be expected with a band on tour where locations and incidental people flowed in and out of the story like water. But the story didn't take a backseat to the momentum -- every character, even secondary characters, had a role to play, and important interaction with the main characters and the plot. This was an emotional and unique tale of fast friends, family of birth, family of choosing, love, hardship, relationships of varying medleys of people, and healing through music. This book was a refreshingly different rock star romance, and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

This is the 3rd part of the Social Sinners Series and a really nice continuation the the previous two books.
We see and lern more about the band and how there story continues, all from Mickys POV.
Mickey finds love. Not one but two rly nice and (especially one) cute guys.
The reason i fought long with myself to give this book 3 instead of 4 stars is that in my opinion the romance in this book falls a bit short. I love that the musik, band and family are that present in the series, but especially considered that its a romance book, id have loved to see a bit more of cute Benny and River and get to know them a bit better.
Still, its a very nice enjoyable read, especially if u like a book with story and not just one sex scene after another. Im really looking forward to the ones to come <3

Its NOT a standalone, so if u have not read them yet please start with the first 2 books in the series, they are a must read ;)

Perfect!!!!

My God I love this series. You just want to hug these guys every book and the urge gets stronger with each one. One this I love about TL Travis is how no matter the book, love stands out the most. Love for family as well as SO's. Also, the biggest message I get from them is something very important to me. Family doesn't mean blood. Let's face it. No stranger can hurt you as bad as blood can but a true family you choose can heal you. The only hard thing with finishing this book is waiting until June for the next one. I know it'll be another great read and we will get another amazing trailer sometime between them and now. This author embodies what a true diverse writer is and I have enjoyed every book she has written. I strongly recommend reading her other work while we wait. You won't be disappointed.

REVIEW
Loved book 1 and 2 of this series and book 3 blew my mind.
In this story, we have Mickey and of course the rest of the Sinners.
Everyone is slowly coming back to life after the horrible crash.
When out one night Mickey runs into not 1 but 2 blonds.
Benny and River have Mickey wanting and wishing for things he thinks are impossible until the unthinkable happens and it's all laid out clear as day.
The author gives us a preview of Diamond's book and OMG...

Another great story within Social Sinners

Travis writes book three of Social Sinners in Mickey's point of view. Social Sinners is not just this series, but it's the band within the story. I've read the two leading up to this one, and I like Mickey, and his story. Travis always tells a great story, especially in the MM erotic romance genres. Travis's writing style is perfect for this type of story. This one is a bit different from the ones before it, as Mickey is involved in a healthy triad/poly-amorous relationship. I'm familiar with the lifestyle, but it is not always easy to keep or write for, for that matter. It's a great pace for a story, and very sexy and steamy. A great story, and a great guilty pleasure.

Social Sinners 3: A Heart Divided by TL Travis is Mickey's story. This installment is filled to the brim with love & family. Whether I was feeling their love or pain though, I swear I lost count of how many times I cried with these amazing characters.

Mickey finds himself part of a threesome with two gorgeous blondes. It's only supposed to be a one time thing but well, you know how it goes. Emotions run high throughout this story as they deal with not one but two serious, life threatening situations. Travis gives us so many feels, ups and downs, I could not put this book down and am not at all missing the sleep that was lost. It's truly worth reading this series!

Social Sinners: A Heart Divided

Kirk Fcking Hammett. Fcking A!
Other than that, this was weak. I mean, MMM stories are not easy to pull off... this one didn't make the cut for me. I liked the men involved just fine but they didn't work for me as in a loving, equal relationship. Too much, way too fast for one. For another? One of them seems more like a parental figure for the other two. Nothing wrong with that, just I don't quite enjoy it... that dynamic just doesn't work for me. That's why we ppl are all different ^^
Can't always win...

I'll keep reading 📖

Heart Divided is Book 3 in the Social Sinners series by TL Travis. This book features the drummer, Mickey, in the Social Sinners band.

Mickey is a player but when he’s propositioned to be a third with a couple, Benny and River, for a night he’s all in. Only problem is Benny and River don’t do repeats and neither does Mickey. But once was not for all three of them. This is the story of their developing relationship.

I have found most MMM stories not quite getting there but Heart Divided was enjoyable.

An enjoyable read.

MAGNIFICENT!!!

WOW!! This story was absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!! Sooo worth the wait!!! Mickey has found the way to make his heart whole. His heart is so big it took two. River and Benny give him a run for his money. This was a moving story that shows you never know what tomorrow will bring. I love this series and TL Travis has music in the soul. Can't wait for Book 4, Beyond The Curtain. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK AND THIS AMAZING SERIES!!!!!

Mickey finally is challenged by not one person but two to share his heart with. Sometimes you just have to follow it and see where it leads but. When you make the wrong choice, you need to make sure to fix your mistakes. It is never too late to do that. Even when half your heart is sick. I have read this book and listened to it. I really love both ways of enjoying this title, Link Lloyd capturing Mickey and his guys.

I really love this series. The story starts off with a bang.. the insta lust with these 3 is off the charts. But the “dark” moment on tour later in the story felt forced. Like it served no purpose to the overall story. So it took a star off. Now I really want to see what is up with Diamond!

I really love this series! Mickey's story was beautiful and frustrating and perfect! The only thing keeping me from giving it five stars is the proofing errors (which are quite prolific). I'm usually pretty picky about that so you know the book is fantastic if I'm willing to wade through the mistakes and finish. Can't wait to read Diamond's story.
