About the author

Júlio Dantas (1876-1962) nasceu em Lagos e faleceu em Lisboa. Formado em medicina, dedicou-se ao jornalismo, à literatura, à diplomacia e ao ensino. Considerado retrógrado por uns, como foi o caso de Almada Negreiros, que lhe dedicou o Manifesto Anti-Dantas, conseguiu granjear durante a vida certo prestígio social e literário, prestígio este que decaiu após a sua morte.
