After a mysterious assassin strikes too close to home, Viper has just one goal: retribution. But nothing is ever easy in New Jersey. Targeted by an invisible and nameless mastermind, Alina Maschik struggles to unravel the mystery cloaking her nemesis even as she fights for her own survival. When those closest to her become targets and the clock starts ticking, Viper knows her only hope lies with secrets from the past - secrets someone is determined to keep buried.
From the balmy, perfumed streets of Singapore to the suburbs of New Jersey, the country’s top assassin must stay one step ahead of a deadly foe. But not everyone is what they seem, and Viper must choose who she can trust…and who is a traitor.
Having read the first four books, I was excited to see what Viper had in mind when she left the chilling message at the end of book 4. I got what I expected and more and I also got something unexpected: lots of kissing from Hawk, really really close misses, and fury at those who went after her friends. C.W. Browning keeps us on the edge of our seats as Viper continues her quest to find the bad guy in Washington. I think I know who it is, but you are going to have to read the book and see if you agree with me. Another fabulous book, and you will not believe the ending!!
This is the 5th book in C W Brownings series about Alina Maschik aka Viper and I would recommend reading the first 4 before embarking upon this one, they’re amazing.
C W weaves such a intricate plot that keeps you guessing and gets you fully invested. The 4th book ended with you wanting more and the 5th does exactly the same. I read it in 2 days.
Alina is a bad ass female character but C W is not afraid to show glimpses of her vulnerabilities and emotions which makes for a more well rounded character. There are plenty of Viper and Hawk scenes which made me happy (what can I say, I love a ‘ship’). Her friends also feature heavily and C W has really fleshed out the supporting characters. I care about this bunch and what happens to them. Blake is a particular new favourite.
All in all this is one of my most favourite series to read and I read a lot! How C W keeps track of all the threads of plot amazes me but you know everything is in there for a reason. I cannot wait for book 6, can we have it now please?!
Next Exit Use Caution by CW Browning - Book 5 in the Exit series Another great read. Book 5 continues the story of Alina Maschik – code name “Viper”. In January 2019, I re read Book 1 to 4 in anticipation of this book, to make sure I did not miss any subtle clues. Book 4 ended with a bang. The terrorist revealed information, that has Viper questioning how was this information obtained? Who is the person that is feeding this terrorist information that is so personal to Viper? As with the previous books there is secrecy, action, intrigue, suspense and over the course of this book we get a few more clues. All books can be read as stand- alone books as there is enough information given to follow the story, but I feel that you get more enjoyment out of these books if you read them in order. I was lucky enough to receive an advanced reader copy, but would have bought a copy any way as I want to know how this story plays out. I really am looking forward to Book 6 and the conclusion of who betrayed Alina and why?
Alina, known as Viper and her partner and boyfriend known as Hawk work for a clandestine group known as the Organization. Only a very few people know of it's existence. Viper has been compromised. Agents in this elite group are being assassinated. The link is extremely high placed in Washington DC. One a U.S. Senator willing to give up information regarding his treason to hopefully get a lesser sentence is murdered. Hawk and Viper now trust no one. Non stop action. Another stupendous read in this series!!
The stories around Viper and Hawk have always been exciting. They keep you on the edge of your seat till the end and then leave you wondering what could happen next.
