Ook!” Fur crept up from his hairy chest to cover his neck, then over his jaw and up his cheeks. His nose flattened and widened, and his ears stuck out from his head. “I feel like a freak!” “You’re a beast,” said Paul, clapping Liam on the back. “You gotta help me!" Liam exclaimed. "One bro to another, man — please, I just wanna go back to normal!” “This is normal,” said a voice from across the lab. A door opened and in walked a man in a white lab coat. “Normal for you. From now on.” “Doc! Please — turn me back!” Liam said. The man in the lab coat neared them. “That may be possible,” he said. “But you did sign a TF waiver. We’ll see what we can do. But no promises.” Liam lurched forward off of the exam table, landing with a heavy thud on all fours. He held up his hairy thick arms to inspect his changes, looked back at his fur-covered torso and his stumpy strong legs. “I … I don’t even recognize who I am anymore,” he said. “You’ll get used to it,” said the researcher. “Most of our test subjects do. Now, I believe you had a friend come along in case you needed a ride home?” “Yeah, Ethan,” said Liam. “Coming, dude,” called a voice from the other side of the door. Another man walked in, in workout shorts and a tank top. He stopped short. “Liam?” “Ethan! Dude, look what they did to me!” Liam exclaimed, knuckle-walking over to his friend. Ethan backed up a few steps. “Oh no,” he said. “You’re a gorilla, bro!”
