So disappointing...

Desperately in need of a new editor, and seriously need to do some actual research on how special forces, especially SEALs, work. I love a good love story as much as the next girl, but between the stilted word flow and the lack of military knowledge, I found it hard to fully enjoy this book. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I was seriously disappointed.

In desperate need of a competent editor

This book was riddled with errors. It was incredibly frustrating and distracting. However, it wasn't distracting enough to make me forget what a truly weak story this was.

The first book in this series was mediocre. This part was just awful. I could not reconcile the H as he is described and as his vocation implies with his actions,or lack thereof. He's a seasoned and trained former Navy Seal. Exercising self-control and having great instincts and situational awareness kept him alive for fifteen years. Then he builds a reputable SECURITY company from the ground up with global outreach and connection. Yet...the woman he insta-loves is accosted not once, but TWICE, while he is in the vicinity. And he come in afterward to hold her hand? Kindly share with the class where the "alpha" is in this and why this would swoon-worthy.

The women seem more alpha than the men in this series. The men literally roll over to give the women what they want because the insta-love even if it puts her in harm's way. Silly and not at all interesting. On the surface the guys are great - strong, principled, disciplined, sexy, courageous, virile...yet,the women still find it nearly impossible to commit. Are the men controlling and overprotective? Yes! However, there wasn't even one instance of a major character flaw asserting itself to warrant the behaviour of the h.

This was a difficult book to finish and I'm not planning to finish the series.

The series is growing on me. Hart plans 17 of these, so it will be interesting to see which of the SEALs, active and retired, gets hooked next. This story is about Rory Basso, Birdie's best friend, who has gathered a stalker somehow. Birdie asks Mark for help, and Mark recommends his friend and former teammate Max Bishop. Max now owns a very successful security company and he decides he will take on Rory's protection. He has also fallen hard for her at first sight and will do anything to protect her.

Reading as their relationship develops (Rory is not as sure as Max is about their inevitability) is hilarious. The dialogue that seemed a little strange in the first book (Hart doesn't use contractions, so her characters all say things like, "I am not ready to say that", or "I will be here then") grows on you, too. Max and Rory lead each other a wild ride while they fall in love and incidentally plan for the successful expansion of his company, find a turncoat in Rory's office, and uncover the stalker.

Very good one.

Quirky

Sweet storyline with humor and a nice lazy weekend read. The bedroom scenes were tasteful and allowed myself to have an imagination instead of the writing of other recent writers. I look forward to her next book.

I tried. I did. I thought the first book was a drag to read, but wanted to give the second a fair shot. It didn't work. The writing just isn't for me. I DNF this one. There are just to many books to read to force myself though one that doesn't hold my interest.

Loved it

I loved it if you can imagine this book was better than the first. Rory and Max had so much chemistry from the very beginning it's what makes this book the bomb!

Unenthusiastic

I had a hard time reading this story. First if an email is important enough to require the lady to arm herself, surely the emails contents should be included especially as she reads it during the story.... I found the writing style with huge time gaps including them kissing, them supposedly sleeping together, and stuff happening off the pages of the story, it all added to the disappointment and confusion. Another problem with the writing style is so much is conversation without any scene setting at all, then it uses acronyms and stuff that are confusing too. I honestly expected this to be much better, the storyline sounded very good, but its taken me several days to get a quarter of the story read and I really have no desire to keep reading because it just isn't connecting. The characters are only partly developed and the story isn't moving along at any pace... Sorry not one I recommend.

I had read and enjoyed "Attached" by this same author, and thought I would give "Snatched" a try.

Rory's so unsettled by the increasing persistence of a stalker that she takes her friend Birdie's advice and requests help from Security Alliance, a security company owned and operated by retired SEALs. When Max Bishop sees Rory, he decides that he will be the one to protect her while his colleagues find the stalker. He's also decided that Rory's The One. Rory initially resists Max's round-the-clock protection, but as the stalker gets closer, she reluctantly agrees to his presence, but she doesn't agree that they can have any kind of relationship. Rory's been hurt before, so now she keeps men at a distance. Max is a SEAL, and can't deviate from his mission goal of getting Rory to agree to forever.

Rory and Max are both likable, but extremely conventional, characters. She's the smart, independent, and caring heroine. Max is the pretty typical badass, alpha, over-the-top-protective hero who knows what he wants, and goes after it. But...when he tells Rory after just a few days that she's The One, and they're getting married, and that she's his forever -- I wouldn't have blamed Rory for thinking that Max was as crazy as her stalker. It was just too much, too soon. It's great that he cares so much, but his intense feelings seemed unbelievable and rather...creepy.

Despite the 'suspense' of finding Rory's stalker, I had to push myself to finish the book. There just wasn't much in the story to keep me interested. The writing style didn't help -- the dialogue seemed stilted and awkward, and weirdly...flat...like they're reading the phone book to each other.

While I'm glad that Max and Rory got their HEA, I think I'm done with this series..

Safe read, not any real mention of H's past (just that he is more experienced than the h), h hasn't been with anyone in two years. Insta love, H is not shy is really goes at the h hard and fast. The h did get in my nerves with her mixed messages of not wanting a boyfriend, glad when that stopped. With the switching back and forth of point of views sometimes I was confused who was talking. Good story.

Whoa now...

I have to start by saying that the first impression I was getting of the hero, was 'what makes you any less of a stalker than the man you were supposed to catch?'. Of course as the story progressed, it was a distinction that ultimately became clearer. Lea Hart very capably told a story of romance that defined the difference between truly loving someone and just wanting to own them. It is a fine line but Max ended up walking it magnificently.

DNF at 20%! I hate Dnf's, but the heroine 's whining didn't leave me a choice. I get, that he's intense. I get that she "doesn't want" a boyfriend... SO STEP THE FUCK AWAY! Stop make out with him, don't let him kiss you. Stop giving him mixed signals... So there's no reason to "but I don't want a boyfriend"... He's playing with his cards open on the table. So just say NO and f****Ing stick with it!!!

So far my favorite due largely in part to the sarcasm and banter. Sure some of the activity may seem far fetched (Chanel shoe display) but to be honest wacky stuff like that is so off the wall that it could only happen in real life. I'm sure we all have tales to tell. I laughed so hard through this one it earned five stars.

If you can't use quotation marks correctly, your editor sucks. It was driving me crazy throughout this book. The grammar was awful. The characters are amusing, but could also have been better with editing. They frequently repeat the same thought three times in one paragraph. It's frustrating because this could otherwise be a good series. I haven't given up yet, but please hire an editor.

Rory is feisty and fun, Max is overbearing and difficult. Together, they fight, but also recognize their attraction, plus more.

As she's being stalked, Max won't let her out of his sight, but that leads him to not one, but two people after her for different reasons.

Some of the plot is weak, but I like that Rory takes care of herself, and Max is still her protector. Good adventure.

Marry me

The story of Rory and Max was awesome. Rory was sweet and intelligent, but reluctant to fall in love. Max was absolutely perfect,a kind loving warrior. There was excitement and danger. A perfect combination for a great story.

I couldn't really get into this book. The characters all talked the same, which sounded female. I don't really feel like the story was told very well. I did like the story line though.
