A typical book from the Geronimo Stilton series. It is neither exceptionally good nor exceptionally bad. It does have one thing to recommend it: it cautions the younglings about online safety.

this book has a nice golden rule set for children browsing the web. i think it’s so important for children’s books to have these important lessons on how to be safe online. geronimo gets hacked and learns his lessons to have a strong password and to not post private info on the web. i think it’s super relevant and again another fun read.

This was a little more interesting, but they're still pretty basic. I actually prefer the Scooby-Doo books where there's an actual mystery to solve that has clues and not just a crazy twist ending.

This one has a lot of good information for kids about how to be safe on the internet. Lots of good information with the kids, but some cool facts on virtual reality.

Geronimo Stilton is de-famed by a hacker who edits Geronimo's photos after realizing he didn't have a password on his e-mail account. To catch the hacker, the mice go into a virtual reality video game that is the type of game a writer who has watched someone play a game once would create. Somehow this leads them to real lair of the hacker, who confesses he's evil because he quit reading and started playing video games. He is not punished, but instead writes a book about hacking because he is the greatest hacker (even though getting into Geronimo's e-mail required zero hacking skills). The end.

I was engaged throughout this book and enjoyed it throughout my read.

Something that bugged me though was the motive for Nick Nobody hacking into Geronimo’s account. It was kinda weak and Geronimo didn’t even mess with him, but hey it’s a kid and it’s a kid book. I suppose I can’t expect a complex motive here

Έφτασε λοιπόν το 28ο, παρακαλώ, βιβλίο της σειράς στα χέρια μου και το διασκέδασα πάρα πολύ.Απλό, καλογραμμένο, με εύληπτο τρόπο εξηγεί στα παιδιά-αναγνώστες τους κινδύνους της αλόγιστης και άσκεπτης χρήσης του διαδικτύου. Ο Τζερόνιμο Στίλτον πέφτει θύμα ενός άγνωστου χάκερ και με τη βοήθεια της γοητευτικής δόκτωρος Σλας Ντοτ Κομ και των φίλων του ψάχνει να βρει την ταυτότητα του ενόχου και να αποκαταστήσει την εικόνα του και την καλή του συμπεριφορά στα μάτια όσων τον εξέθεσε ο χάκερ. Γι’ αυτό λοιπόν, παιδιά, όταν μπαίνετε στο διαδίκτυο (σελ. 45):

7) Να μην κλείνετε ραντεβού με αγνώστους
8) Να μένετε μακριά από τους αγενείς
9) Να μην επισκέπτεστε ιστοτόπους που σας ζητούν χρήματα
10) Να χρησιμοποιείτε πάντα την κοινή λογική

Πολύ χρήσιμο και βοηθητικό βιβλίο, που συνοδεύεται από πολλές επεξηγηματικές εικόνες, χάρτη της Ποντικούπολης και της Ποντικονήσου, θα σας βοηθήσει να σερφάρετε ασφαλέστερα στον μαγικό και αχανή χώρο του διαδικτύου.
