There is one way to stop the impending war—march into enemy territory.

Eliran and the lords of his court don’t want to stop Lark. All they care about is keeping the peace, even if that means living in darkness. They want Robin to submit to Lark which is not going to happen—there’s more chance of hell freezing over than Robin accepting him as king.

She has to take matters into her own hands and flee the Spring Court before they turn on her. With Holden and Abe pledging to help her, they leave behind the safety of Eliran’s lands.

Abe knows a way to cripple Lark’s power but there is a hitch. The only way is to travel through the Winter Court to the wall that separates Taidel from the Unseelie Court. A source of power hidden deep within Lark’s lands holds the key to defeating him. Terrible horrors lie between the Spring Court and their destination. Will they survive the terrors of the Unseelie Court? Or will darkness rule?

Follow Robin on her quest to free Taidel from the clutches of evil in this urban fantasy romance.

So disappointed! I enjoyed reading and reviewing the first book, and wanted to see how Robin and Holden's love interest will pan out, especially since there seemed to be a bit of a spark with Abe towards the end of the first book. Now, don't get me wrong, I agree with Robin's decision and the direction in which Basia Pike took this book, I was however, disappointed at how it was executed.

Connecting with the characters is really hard, as there doesn't seem to be a lot of substance to them. They are incredibly one dimensional. I could have enjoyed them so much better if I was given more in terms of their feelings, their thought process, their hopes for the future etc.
The final nail in the coffin, so to say, was the amount of spelling and grammatical errors in the book! I had such a hard time reading it, as I was constantly having to fix the errors in my head before proceeding. Not to mention the formatting error towards the end where Robin had a major epiphany about her soulmate, only to have miraculously forgotten about it a few pages later, and gone through another major realization on the same topic! I get a feeling some cutting and pasting went wrong there that wasn't picked up during the planning process of the book.

I really wish this book was properly proof read before publishing, it would have solved half the issues I have with the book, and I really wanted to like this one!
