Stalk Her

Rate this book
This is not a romance title. Contains dark elements.
Ever get that feeling you're being watched?
You probably are.
Her sad eyes.
Her thick lips.
Her long dark hair.
Her quickening of breath.
Her hurried footsteps.
Her undiluted fear.
The anxiety a woman has when she knows she's being followed does something to the sadistic animal inside me.
We all have issues, mine just run a little deeper than most.
My sister and I had a childhood tarnished by an abusive parent.
We grew up two very different breeds of our mother's creation.
Then I discover the beautiful, yet broken, Alice Young.
She's seeking advice, a place to unburden her thoughts.
What she gets is a dangerous, callous predator who wants to quench his thirst with her tears.
My precious, Alice, feels so alone, but she's not alone.
I'm watching her.
I feed on the fear of others.
Alice Young may prove to be too damaged, even for my appetite.

Unpredictable!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚💙❤️🧡
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📘📗📕📙📘
World building: 🌏🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂

The Hero(s): Erik - abused as a child by his mother and the men she brought into the house, Erik used his sister’s fear to lessen his own. Now he lives off creating fear in women, by following them, stalking them and more. He founded a company with his college roommate and became rich, he has a fiancé in order to appear normal.

The heroine: Alice - her mother is slowly dying and she just wants to get out and go away to college. Though they can’t afford it. She has been bullied in school because she was doing things with Reese, the most popular guy in school and his girlfriend didn’t like it. Though nobody knew that she was being bribed by him to get his father to give her a scholarship. Though Reese was playing her for a fool.

The Love Story: Alice emails a company called Anonymous when she is at a low point in her life and the company is owned by Erik’s sister Ebony. Erik is in Ebony’s office and intercepts the email, he then becomes obsessed with Alice.

I am not sure I like Alice in this one, she is a bit of a skank trying to get money for college. I don’t care if the heroine isn’t a virgin but I don’t like it when they are a prostitute. I can understand being in desperate financial straits, but for college you can always take out student loans like the rest of us. There is no need to resort to whorishness.

Though I loved Erik. There is something to be said about crazy guys that own their craziness. When they think, say or do things that are so out there, but in the most matter-of-fact way like it is something anyone would do, it is just hilarious to me. Erik was really good at justifying his crazy stalkishness as normal behavior.

I want to talk about that ending because it was spectacular and I never in a million years would have expected what happened. Though I won’t give away spoilers, but I am giving this one a 5 for how much it surprised me.

➽ KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

This is such a hard review to write up, without divulging spoilers. The ‘Prologue’ set this book up perfectly, from that point onwards I knew I was in for a goody.

Sexy, Shocking, Suspenseful, definitely worth a one click!!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I didn't find this terribly dark, more suspenseful than anything, making we wonder at the cat and mouse games carried out between the hero and the heroine.

Hunter and Prey..Cat and...
Da dum...da dum...da dum

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Siblings Erik and Ebony have had one shitty upbringing, a mother who cared more about herself than her own children, a revolving door of nasty men, a cupboard where Erik was locked in, a place Erik spent most of his time shrouded in darkness.

When you grow up with a mother like ours, you learn about all the bad things in the world much sooner than you should. You learn that they don't stay outside your home, not when you have a mother like ours who lets them inside with you.

He has many issues..But one that sticks out above the rest is his stalking tendencies..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And.....Now he's got his sights set on pretty little broken nineteen year old Alice Young.

I remember once a girl asked me if I'd ever had a feeling like someone was watching me..Who the hell could feel eyes on them, I'd thought at the time..But right now, as I walk, there's an echo of my steps. Only it's not an echo. I feel it. Eyes in me. Tracking my movements. It's not the first time either.

Run..Alice..Run!!

“There’s nothing wrong with crazy.”

Erik Ross is one of the craziest stalkers I have ever read. He has lived a troubled childhood and he is now a rich man. He has a twisted mind and he never hesitates to kill.

Sometimes his killings are for mercy,
other times for revenge and
some other times for survival.

The most important thing is that they are always justified.

Erik is not stupid and he definitely can feel emotions. He prefers his victims being distressed, fragile and ignorant. Maybe the closest he had been in love was when he discovered Alice.

You.
Alice.
It took me all of two minutes to find you.
This is what you wanted, why you left your email.
Such a dangerous game you’re playing.

Lots of twists in the plot. Better discover them yourself.
The only thing I need to point out is that although the story of Erik and Alice may seem like a dark fairy tale, it is NOT.

Erik is not a prince charming and Alice is not a damsel in distress.

▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬⋆▬

Genre: Dark Suspense
Type: Standalone Novella from Dark Delights collection
POV: First Person - Dual
Rating:

Erik Ross reveled in the drumming heart and the pulsing veins of his targets whose fears fed his insatiable hunger. When he saw an opportunity for a new target, he used her sadness and vulnerability as bait. But Alice Young might turn out to be a more difficult job than he anticipated.

Her patchy, red, swollen face is covered in dried tears, and I take everything from her in this moment.

This book is short and an instant gratification for dark souls. Suffice to say it pleased my constant need for darkness. I liked how both the beginning and the ending were impactful.

She’s lonely, like me. She needs me. Like I need her.

Both characters were intriguing and drew me to their stories. I liked seeing how far they would go to get what they desperately needed. I just love characters who chose to live unapologetically.

Stalk Her is a story of taking control. It would appeal to readers looking for a quick dark read.

3.5 The Hunter & His Little Bird Stars

Told in dual POV, 1st person, it’s a standalone novella. I dived into this story and expected something really dark because I know this author by her dark books but unfortunately, it wasn’t as dark as what I’d like. You could count it as a semi-dark and still, it was good. Another thing is the plot wasn’t something unique or new, I knew from the start what’s going to happen but I should confess that there was a twist that I couldn’t guess but if you want Overall, this wasn’t that bad but not that good either and I expected something more and better from this author, hope you enjoy it!

Erik Ross has a scarred past and a dark heart. Finding comfort in the sorrow of a woman and protecting what he deems is paramount to feeding what he craves. With a new distraction, Erik sets his sights on Alice Young, a hard working college student that appeals to his senses.

“But I can’t force myself to move away. Her sorrow comforts me, makes me feel strong.”

Immediately, an unnerving tone is set due to Erik’s actions making him seem off kilter. As more is revealed, it adds dimension to his character and substantiates why he has certain tendencies. Alice seems to fit his ideal and Erik is ready to make her all his.

“You can’t out run me, I can smell your fucking scent. Like a wolf, I’ll hunt you down and devour you.”

The theme of this book definitely excited me and seeing the world through Erik’s eyes was disturbing but also gratifying at times. Including a sufficient amount of twists and hot scenes for the novella length, I was completely intrigued and couldn’t wait to see how it would end.

Stalk Her is a dark suspenseful thriller that doesn’t make any apologies. This book will appeal to those who like to play in the shadows.

🎶 "I always feel like somebody's watching me." 🎶

You ever been outside, just minding your own business, and out of nowhere you get that hair-raising feeling? You feel like you're being watched. But when you look around, there's no one there. Or is there?

Erik's messed up childhood drives him. He feeds off of your fear. He thrives on your confusion. He's always there, whenever you don't even need him. Don't worry cuz Erik's got your back.

This story was twisted and eerie and thrilling and sexy and I couldn't get enough. I was constantly wondering what would happen next and the author kept me guessing right to the end. This is just a taste of the darkness and it's definitely whet my appetite.

OMG!!! What an ending!! Gah! I want what ever the next book is going to be right now! Lol! Ker Dukey never disappoints me! Her talent for dark and suspenseful stories is brilliant! Erik is a f-cked up character; but she is able to make me feel for him, and root for him- even if he is a psycho!🤣 He definitely meets his match with “his little bird!!!”

As always, with these types of stories, I don’t want to give anything away. Just trust me when I say... if you have dark tastes that need fulfilling; then read this book! It may be twisted; but what a ride!!!
Ker Dukey says it best: “when reading one of her books, expect the unexpected!!!”

Do you know how tempting you are?

Just putting it out there that this is NOT what most people would consider a romance. (I haven’t seen it being labeled as a romance, but just fair warning as it seems thats what some expected!) It not fitting into the “rules” is what made me love it so dang much, so romance smomance when it comes to Stalk Her. I’d consider it more a suspense/thriller that has some smut. It’s mainly a stalker/infatuation suspense and it is so dang good. It’s quick. It’s creepy. It’s bloody. It’s got some steam. It’s everything you want from Ker Dukey without anything resembling a HEA. Lol. Read this book if you like stalkers and untraditional characters, that you’re not sure if you should love or hate.

Also I’m dying to see if she will use characters from this book (there’s some good messed up story potential left there) for the next dark short or if it will be an entirely new cast.

Da dum…da dum…da dum…

STALK HER is a quick read but packs a heavy punch. There is a lot going on.
It's something like a braid, you divide your hear in parts and in the end, when you've finished braiding, it all slots nicely together.

Is Erik a twisted creepy bastard? He probably is, but I can't, for the love of me, have any ill feelings.
I loved reading this, but the ending? That was mind blowing!!

Looking forward reading Asher's story soon!

I just recently started watching ‘You’ on Netflix and this book reminded me so much of that.

Erik is a psycho who has psycho thoughts going in his mind all the time. He also has a fiancée just like the psycho in ‘American Psycho’

Everyone is fucked up in this book. Even the object of his obsession is fucked up.

So you know this is basically mashup of all the psycho movies.
It was quite dull and bland and rushed.

Dark Delight... so appropriate. This author is an automatic one click for me. No matter what she writes I devour with pleasure.

Alice is a nineteen year old who hasn’t had it easy. School and home life is one big struggle for her. When she reaches out for help she gets more than she bargains for with Eric.

Eric hasn’t had an easy start but he’s now a wealthy business man. I loved his dark side.

I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait to read more of these Dark Delight novellas.

This is your standard dark romance novel with your obssesive male character and your poor and weak female character.

The best way to go in to this story is to not expect much from it because you will be disappointed. The writing was okay. The characters were a bit off. They kept acting out of character. And the plot, itself, contradicted itself. The ending disappointed me the most because it would have been amazing if done correctly. I just wished the author gave more clues so the ending would make sense.

I would definitely recommend Pretty Stolen Dolls over this but if you're looking for a quick dark read, this would suffice.

Stalk her was a fun, dark and dirty novella from Ker Dukey. I was hooked from the start and wanted more of Erik. He was twisted and just so addicting!

Due to his horrible childhood, Erik was very damaged. But oh did l love his stalker ways. But when he meets his match? Lord-he did not see that coming! This story was sexy and shocking and that twist?! OMG! I need more! 3.5 stars! ~Ratula

Fucking Erik!!!!
This absolute psycho has wormed his way into my little black heart and is refusing to leave. It’s left me seriously questioning my own sanity.
I’m not going to lie, I’ve not read much of Kers most recent work, and I have no valid reason for this. Ive heard the whispers though, I knew what to expect.
Well, I thought I did. In actual fact, I had no fucking idea!! Just when you think you have it all worked out, she goes and does a complete 180 and messes with your head, and then the twists and turns just keep on coming. The whole thing is batshit crazy, but it works, and it had me completely hooked from beginning to end.
Ker has an incredible way with words, and I am stupidly excited to see what this series is going to bring next.

Can I just say I've never read a book quite like this one? And that I loved every second of it?

Honestly, I expected none of the things I was given picking this up. And I mean that in the best way possible, but to put it into perspective—I thought this was a romance.

Not... whatever genre/trope this falls into.

Now... I'm not sure if the intention was to hate/feel creeped out over the actions of the male protagonist, Erik, and I'm also not sure what this says about my morals... or sense of humor for that matter... but I loved him. He made me laugh. Case in point;

"Getting to my feet, I walk over to the office door and open it.
It opens against the bathroom door, the handle touching just below where the bathroom handle needs to drop to open. I know it jams, and you can't get out from the inside.
Enjoy your lunch break, Maggie.
Grinning to myself, I grab my jacket and leave."

"Why did these women have to be attracted to me? It would be much more fun if they weren't."

"Temptation to go strangle the fucker in his sleep is strong, but one murder at a time."

Lastly, this book has an amazing ending. I’m in absolute awe. It’s everything I didn’t know I wanted, and more.

Side Note; The title "Stalk Her" is pronounced suspiciously like 'stalker' and I refuse to believe anything other than this being intentional.

***5 ‘Can You Feel Me’ Stars***

I’ve said this before, but any time Ker Dukey announces that she is going to be putting more words out into the universe, I’m all in. I don’t really care what she’s writing, I just want it and this one was a total mind fuck wrapped up in a dark and tidy little package. Calling it a ‘Delight’ is quite apt and though I do want more, because it’s Ker Dukey’s words, this one also left me quite satisfied as a whole.

Erik and Alice are interesting. Maybe not the more enticing of words to use, fascinating is probably the better word to use because they are both quite unique. Erik’s...unique predilections drew me and Alice was much more than I thought she would be. The way they collided were definitely not the norm, but I can’t say that they didn’t make me want more of them and kept me turning the pages to see what would happen next.

This one is a novella, but it packs a punch. It will make you want more, but as I said in the beginning, you’ll find that it’s also strangely satisfying in many ways. And though it isn’t AS dark as other books my Ms. Dukey was been, the tone is definitely not a light one by any means and some may still find things that are triggers within these pages, so buyer beware. The supporting cast of characters were all well written, but I’m definitely crossing my toes that we’ll get to see two in particular in another Dark Delight at some point down the road.

“Beautiful fucking carnage”

Yup! That pretty much sums up what I just read!

Stalk her by Ker Dukey is a dark novella that will give you all of the anxiety. I felt all of my senses being heightened when I was reading.
This book is intense and twisted but also very addicting.
It’s messed up and you kinda wanna hate Erik..... but I really don’t. His childhood had left him completely messed up and doing some questionable things and he has his sights set on Alice.
When Erik wants something he gets it.... but just how far is he willing to go this time to get Alice?
Ker Dukey has me questioning my morals with this book because I absolutely loved it! Can’t wait to see what book 2 brings.

I’ve read many stories about stalkers but they weren’t written by Dukey so they were no they were nothing like STALK HER!!! As is typical of this dark Queen, nothing is predictable or what it seems in this suspenseful, sexy as hell story! Although not as long as her typical books at 143 pages, the characters and plot development are just as detailed and awe-inspiring as ever. I was sucked into the story from page 1 and devoured every word!!! I want more Erik and Alice!!!!

She’s so damaged, so fragile. I need her. I need to show her she isn’t lost anymore.
I’ve found her.

And she’s mine.

Dark delight is an apt description of Stalk Her! Erik’s character was very intriguing throughout the story. And Alice...well, her character took a surprising turn.

I was filled with chills and thrills as the story progressed. Erik was a bit twisted in heat he needed to feel alive. His desire for instilling fear amongst the women around him was so clearly conveyed and had me feeling all kinds of confused and thrilled- in the best of ways.

With a plot twist I DID NOT expect, this story left me with goosebumps as I neared the end. For being a quick read STALK HER had everything I could have wanted in a highly enjoyable and VERY intriguing story.

STALK HER by Ker Dukey is the story of Alice Young and Erik Ross.
Alice is young around 19 year old, who has a harsh growing up and in addition is picked on. Leaving her in my mind alone and lost but not with out some darkness. Erik too didn't have a easy life, but now he has money and is embracing the dark side. Erik starts to watch Alice which brings his desire for her closer each day. If you are a fan of Dark Romance then this is for you...Ms. Dukey is my go to dark romance author...Loved this story.

I think it’s fair to say that I’m a huge Ker Dukey fan. I wait on her new releases, like a kid waits for Santa. Her latest novel “Stalk Her” did not disappoint. Addictive reading which I devoured in a few hours.

Erik and Ebony have a pretty crap childhood. However, Erik’s dark side emerges early when he decides to get rid of his useless excuse of a mother.
As Erik gets older he evolves. He enjoys the chase, watching and waiting for his prey. Poor Alice had no idea what she was getting herself into.

Ker Dukey remains the queen of my kindle, with 20 books in my library. I’ve never read one that I didn’t love.
If you’ve never read one of her books before you are sincerely missing out. All of her books are a little on the darker side, but by heck can that girl write a thrilling novel!!!!
