Murder, mystery, mayhem are all found in Lizzy Armentrout’s first novel A Vengeful Spirit (Shelly Gale Mystery)
Pilotville, North Carolina is a a quiet, peaceful town until a woman is found dead in her home. Alerted by one of her 6th grade students named Tucker Irvin, Shelly Gale discovers the gruesome scene.
The hunt for the killer will shape her life for weeks to come and include some twists and turns you might not expect.
Shelly is a twenty something single teacher for Pilotville’s Christian School. She is an alert, faith filled, and very concerned for her students, especially Tucker, since his father is now missing.
She takes Tucker home with her until his family can be contacted. This places her in dead center of the attention of the murderer.
Who could have done this in this small North Carolina town? Why would anyone want to kill Tucker’s mom? All reports say she was a good christian mother and a faithful wife.
Another attack, this time a gunman fires on the children of the school where Shelly teaches. As the investigation continues, Shelly finds herself casts in the center of the mayhem.
Book 1 of this series is an intriguing mystery. I look forward to the next book in the series. This is a work of fiction by a faith centered author and it certainly does come through.
