#TATA STORIES BY HARISH BHAT Well, It is heard ..’Tata Sons got their baby back’; ‘The Maharajah’ i.e. Air India..(the news yet to be confirmed though.) So, here we will find the fascinating story of Tata Airlines which eventually became Air India….and now perhaps again going to Tatas…among others. This book contains 40 beautifully written tales of Tatas: their achievements and contribution to the Nation and all stories are really fascinating, inspiring and full of values. Undoubtedly, the professionalism and work ethic followed by the group are impressive and admirable. After reading this, one will fill the fervour and charm. The philosophy of business adopted by Jamsetji Tata, founder of the group as described by the Author expresses the intent so aptly: ‘Businesses should strive hard to be profitable, but they exist to serve a larger need- that of the community….and the meaning of community expanded to envelop the entire nation.’….and the group has truly followed the philosophy through its innumerable philanthropic endeavours..we all agree…and these tales are about them. Full of interesting and exciting anecdotes, the language of the book is lucid and style of writing is very communicative. Especially, the Introduction is very well written..I loved that. Tatas also started shipping company called ‘Tata Line’(was not aware). Overall, a great read. TATA.👍
It is inspiring tales from Tata. But I cannot fore go the feeling that this are just good tales. I want to hear the real acumen of the Tata leaders.. The business ruthlessness that would be required during the British period and our nation starting years.
I know this book is not an essay in reality but I believe that I did learn that Tata group has achieved so many things that are first for Bharat.
I love that. I do believe that Tata leaders are much more then just good people loving their country. That does not mean I doubt that.. It just means that it does not take only goodness to establish am empire... It needs more.
It’s us not just stories but experiences of legends, true leaders, great human beings…. These stories tells you why Tata Group is up there where it today … these stories are only top of the iceberg…. If you really want collect and collate you will get lacs of stories, experiences like this as there lacs and lacs of people worked with the group companies and retired.. there are even generations worked in this group… thank you to the Author to bring these “experiences” to us. Today’s young generation really need to understand and learn why is true leadership and how to give back to community.
#Tatastories What a wonderful read! It truly is the group that helped India to prosper socio-economically as well as culturally. Strong fundamentals , a lot to learn. Worth a read by @harishbhat. Business should not have profit motive instead it should be based on need of the hour keeping nation development as the long term goal. From the way Tata group treats its employees to the way they contributed for promoting India in Olympics way down from 1800's is indeed a legacy
It's a good read with the following flaws: (1) The stories (in parts) are getting repeated in some chapters (2) I would have loved to have a more in-depth account of a few stories rather than a scratching the surface view, where stories just end abruptly (3) Following from the above point, why not condense the book with 10 large stories and give a timeline sort of a view than stretch it over 40 stories, just because it has to be
It gives immense pleasure to write something about this book..while the book is just about the short stories but in a deeper sense it carries ones emotions for the country...how a group always put a India first no wonder we define the group as "trust"...
