This complete reverse harem series is ready to be devoured! Book One: Bound by Magic
One badass mercenary. Four sexy-as-sin rebels. Bound together by powerful magic and dangerous desire...
In a world ruled by magic, surviving without it means I have to be quicker, smarter, and fiercer than the magical beings that run this city.
I get by just fine working as a bounty hunter... until what should be a routine take-down of an incubus and his buddies turns into a major clusterf#ck when something inside me goes haywire.
Turns out, I do have magic. And it's so powerful, it's bonded four insanely gorgeous men to me.
They're part of an underground rebellion fighting back against the magical elite, and they claim they need my help.
But if I agree to fight alongside them, I may be risking more than my life. I could lose my heart too.
Book Two: Game of Lies
In a world built on secrets, who can you trust?
I have my assignment: infiltrate the Gifted government and find a way to undermine their power.
Should be easy, right?
But my magic is going haywire again, the bond to my four is straining, and I don’t know how to play the role I’ve been given. On top of that, I’m starting to realize there’s even more danger here than meets the eye.
Someone in the Capital isn’t playing by the rules...
Which leaves just one question. Whose side are they on?
I can handle myself in a fight. But can I win the game of lies?
Book Three: Consort of Rebels
She’s an unwilling icon of freedom, loved by four rebel warriors. And the fate of humanity rests on their shoulders.
The world I thought I knew was a lie.
Rocked by betrayal, injured, and imprisoned by an enemy I didn’t know I had, I’ll do whatever it takes to get back to my four.
I have to.
Because there’s an all-out war brewing for the future of humanity, and without them at my side, I won’t stand a chance of winning the battle.
But when people start looking to me as an idol, my confidence falters. I’m prepared to fight and die for what I believe in, but can I be the leader they need?
This box set is the complete collection of the international bestselling series, Magic Awakened. Bound by Magic (Book One) Game of Lies (Book Two) Consort of Rebels (Book Three)
Warning: Magic Awakened is a medium-burn reverse harem series with explicit scenes and is meant for readers 18+ who enjoy steamy scenes and pulse-pounding action.
I always appreciate a good omnibus edition, especially when it's free during events like Stuff Your Kindle Day. This Sadie Moss trilogy was a definite improvement over my previous experience with her work (which I DNF'd). Lara Croft Lana Crow was a much more engaging FMC, and the diverse and interesting male characters benefited from the single POV narration from her perspective. The plot was also more my style.
Magic Awakened is an urban fantasy series that blended elements of The Red Queen and Throne of Glass. Picking up eight years after the prequel novella, Kissed by Shadows, we found Lana still in Denver, having switched eye color from green to gray, and somehow being 25 when eight years prior she'd been 18 (18+8=25?).
Strife between social classes is a classic and effective foundation for fantasy narratives and this series featured three distinct social tiers: the Gifted, magic wielders who held positions of power and authority; the Touched, second-class citizens comprised of supernatural beings like shifters, incubi, and pixies; and the Blighted, humans who were considered third-class and faced oppression from many Gifted. Of course, as is often the case in such stories, there must be an orphaned human (a woman in the case) who mysteriously develops magical abilities, and inevitably finds herself drawn into joining the rebellion against the ruling class and fighting for a more equitable society.
The first book of the trilogy, Bound By Magic, was my favorite. It was fast-paced, and even though there wasn't much relationship progress physically or emotionally since the focus was more on the story, I still enjoyed the bits of character development we got. Lana continued to be resourceful and kickass (like in the prequel), and the guys—Gifted Jae, shifter Fenris, incubus Akio, and Blighted Corin—got sufficiently fleshed out so they each felt like different people and not the same character with different accessories.
The second book, Game of Lies, was my second favorite and centered a lot more around political intrigue and undercover missions. It was all about Lana and her guys helping The Resistance gather info on The Representatives (the members of the Gifted governing body) from the inside, so they could bring them down. And was the book where Lana began realizing the world wasn't as black and white as she had once believed. Not all Gifted were evil and not all Blighted were good. This installment explored the moral complexities of the conflict.
The third and last book, Consort of Rebels, was my least favorite of the three. While it wrapped up the overarching plot (culminating in the defeat of the villain) and solidified Lana's relationships, the character development felt formulaic. This was the point where I realized the background exposition for all four of the male characters had been done pretty much the same: a 1-on-1 chat where their past was info-dumped followed by sex. By the time all was said and done, the unique love interests I'd been excited about in book one had turned into flat, same-y characters. They were each given a specific trauma that was brought up a single time for a bonding moment with Lana and then never mentioned again.
Overall, this trilogy was an entertaining, low-angst read with semi-developed characters, flashes of character growth, and a fast-paced narrative. It was a solid, enjoyable read, though not particularly memorable or groundbreaking.
Magic Awakened series by Sadie Moss has been bundled up into this box set containing all three stories.
Book 1 Absolutely loved Bound by Magic. Sadie Moss has written an actioned packed book with twists and turns. Can’t wait for the following books in the series. Also the originality and perfect fit of the characters names had me won over. Lana Crow has zero magic aka a Blighted and it’s her job to catch her Gifted bounty, but what should have been a simple mission turns into a chase. After an (eventual) successful catch and hand over, Lana is offered an even higher paying job. But will the reward be worth the assaasination of an Incubus aka Touched? Or will everything change when she finally encounters her target?
Book 2 Games of Lies is the second book in the Magic Awakened series. It’s emotional, a little steamy, anger fueled, plot twists and get ready for vengeance. Lana and her men are kept on their toes throughout the book, especially since someone is always a step ahead of them. Lana is on a mission to get information from the Representatives and other Gifted government officials for the Resistance. Lucky for her she’s able to stay undetected by staying with her recently found grandmother, but that also means she’s has to stay away from the four men she’s linked to - Fen, Jae, Akio and Corin. Lana’s magic is haywire without the connection between the guys, but hopefully they don’t need to stay apart too long.
Book 3 Consort of Rebels is the third and final book in the Magic Awakening series. Whilst Lana was captured things have changed in the world, especially with a new Resistance leader - Noble. Will Lana aka The Crow and her four men be able to defeat Rain and get the Representatives to change their ways? Or will they world stay divided with Blighted and Gifted at battle? What an epic ending to the Magic Awakening series. I can’t wait to read more books from Sadie Moss releases in the future.
Book One: Bound by Magic Loved this book. We have Lana Crow, who lost her parents during the Great Death. She as always thought she was a blighted and grew up as one with a foster parent. During one of her mercenary assignments to survive in this world she is sent to assassinate a incubus named Akio. Something goes wrong and she is now bonded to Akio, Jae a Mage, Fenris, A shifter and Corin a blighted that she grew up with in the past. Now she has joined the rebellion against the Gifted who she as always hated. Can she accept who she is? Can she accept that she is bonded to 4 men? Can the 4 men accept her? Can Corin ever forgive her? Can she protect her self?
Book Two: Game of Lies WOW, love this series. Twist and turns that keep you on edge. Lana is living with her Grandmother now and trying to trust her. Can she help the resistance movement? Can she protect her men? Can the men help her learn? What will her grandmother think of this bond? Why does the gifted hate her so much? What are these dreams she keeps having? Who can she trust? And again we are left with a cliffhanger.
Book Three: Consort of Rebels WOW, adventure, trials, heartache, laughter, betrayal, and more. Lana and her guys are still trying to bring down Rains. Who can Lana trust, her grandmother? Others on the top? Who is taking the gifted? Who can stop them? Why are they putting Lana on a pedestal she does not want? Can she save the world, like they think? Will she die trying?
I brought the first book many moons ago and it ended up in my TBR pile,I had this collection pop up on Facebook, it sounded good so i got it, I have never been more happier to see an ad on Facebook,i have not been able to put this book down, read the whole thing in three and a half nights, work during the day,i am totally knackered but it was stop worth it, the characters were the best i have read for quite a while, the plotline was amazing, seriously edge of your seat stuff, it's part Harry Potter and part damn can't think of a series good enough, there was magic, shifters, humans and incubuses or its it incubi, there was fighting, there was a resistance and of course sex, you will not be disappointed if you get this, the last book was definitely my favourite one, get it you really won't be Sorry, this book is on 🔥
THIS SERIES IS TOUTED AS REVERSE HAREM, AND IT IS. IT IS ALSO DONE TASTEFULLY AND NOT ALL UP IN YOUR FACE. THIS MAGE BECOMES ACCIDENTALLY BONDED TO FRIENDS ( ONE NON-MAGICAL, ONE WOLF SHIFTER, ONE MAGE AND ONE INCUBUS) WHEN SHE RECEIVES HER MAGICAL POWERS AT THE AGE OF 25. THEY ARE PART OF A RESISTANCE THAT IS DETERMINED TO STOP THE MAGICAL GOVERNMENT FROM KEEPING THE NONMAGICAL PEOPLE ON THE FRINGES OF SOCIETY, BARELY MAKING IT FROM DAY TO DAY. IT IS VERY GOOD AND VERY WELL WRITTEN AND EASY TO READ.
I absolutely devoured this series and can't wait to read more from this author. These books were so much MORE than I was expecting, with awesome world building, compelling characters, and a plot that kept the pages turning. I know this is classified as a reverse harem romance (and it technically is) but unlike most stories in that genre, the adventure and storyline takes precedence--making even this fantastical world of mages and demons feel more real than anything similar I've ever read. So excited to see what else Ms. Moss has in store.
This was a great read with a bit of heartbreak, a few good twists, and a properly lengthened battle at the end!
A human, an incubus who the main female lead seems to always be trying to kill one way or another, a wolf shifter and a mage, all become connected to our human female lead, who may be more than she actually appears to be! She learned to be on her own and not trust anyone for so long, until a job she takes on as a mercenary gets complicated and reveals a blast from her past.
This is multiple books in one, so you get the entire story!
If you take the rebellion from the Hunger Games, add in the classification from Divergent and add in magic and fairie then you have a great idea what is waiting for you in this series if you add in some very soft core RH.
The main characters are perfectly suited for each other and their personalities and differences make the whole bond inevitable and deliciously strong.
I wouldn’t say family friendly but I will say it was a very fun read, all three books in one!
Oh my gosh. This book, I wish I could give it 20 stars. I got this book series to try out this author and I was IMPRESSED! The story really pulls on your heartstrings as well as has regards and turns you wouldn't expect. There were quite a few "What!?!" Exclaimed while reading this series. Can't recommend it enough. Love all the characters. I think Akio is my new book boyfriend. *Dreamy sigh*
I saw this book advertised on Facebook with a steamy scene between Fen and Lana and it completely hooked me from there on and I binge read the whole series in a few days!! I loved this story and it had such a perfect ending to tie over everything. I definitely wish there was another book to continue on from where it was left off to find out about the baby who's it was and what type of power it had ect! But I still immensely enjoyed these books!
The RH angle isn't overdone. The book is mostly about the main plot point of magical vs nonmagical people. I like each of the main characters in the secondary characters. The author did a great job in selling the storyline, the bond and hope. Action packed the entire way. Definitely a page turnee.
Five stars because, even tho I read this thru KU, it's worth purchasing. I was surprised at the reveal of the villain. Even though the story has a happily ever after, the ending was tightly written -- it wasn't just sloppily thrown together to wrap up the storyline.
Without giving to much away the best way to describe this series is really good quite simple Think of Harry Potter cross The Hunger Games And you will have a perfect understanding of the book your about to read Hope you enjoy as much as I did thank you Sadie Miss for writing, this amazing series
Excellent character buildup and smooth story line. I loved how it all flowed and appreciated just enough explanation to not overpower the story and make it boring and tedious to follow. Thanks for an amazing read!! This is definitely one for my collection!!
I’ve just discovered the amazing stories of Sadie Moss. This story pulled me in from page one. There were moments I had to take a breath and relax my grip on my kindle because I was so entrenched in Lana and her four’s journey. I’m so excited to go get every book in this author’s backlist. New favorite.
I loved that I was able to read all the books in one sitting. The story was jammed packed with action and drama. It kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to the end. It is extremely well written and developed. The characters have fantastic personalities that are felt throughout the story. It is a fantastic read and does not disappoint.
I have absolutely loved this series. Lana is an extremely strong character. After all that life has thrown at her she never gives up. She's always fighting for her future and the future of her guy. This series is really well written and totally worth the read.
First book of Sadie Moss's I've read. But well written with a properly strong and independent FMC who grows to trust others and not remain so self sufficient as to be out headed! Fun books. Looking forward to more stories from this author.
This was a great story, lots of twists throughout the series. Loved the characters and how they were developed. Would totally read more stories that included these characters!
This series was so fun to read. I loved the main character and her harem. The story line is compelling and I love being able to read the whole series in a box set!
This is the first time I have read Sadie Moss. I am sure glad I did. I have been looking for a author who tells a awesome story and is about magic people and non magic people coming together despite their differences.
I loved this series so much! For some reason I thought I had already read it so I didn't download it. But I'm so glad that I did and read it because even if I had read it, it was even better this time around. Sadie's writing is amazing and this series was no exception.
I loved it! The emotions flowed so naturally that I forgot what was going on around me. Whenever I wasn’t reading the book I was distracted by constantly thinking about what was gonna happen next. This book was exactly what I needed. An amazingly new world of magic!
Reading this series took me for a wild, Wild, ride. When I got close to the end of the third, and last, book, I slowed my reading down to a trickle so that I wouldn't have to leave the story so soon. Engrossing should be in the book description.
The hunger games crossed paths with a paranormal reverse harem and have birth to a fantastic story that has kept me from doing anything but read for days. This set will be a must read again and again for a very long time
Mystery, suspense, sensual, action, fun! This series has it all to keep you enthralled! A strong spirited woman and four sexy, strong, loyal and loving men. Great combo ;)
On a spice scale I would say 1... nice read. Interesting story line and I liked how the leading female stayed strong throughout the whole book and didn't just lean on her bonded. All in all good series.. glad I read it and interested to try more from this author.
I enjoyed this series! Lana, a Blighted mercenary, delivers the Gifted for money. When she takes on an assassination her life changes forever!! She meets an Incubus, a Mage, a Shifter and a Blighted. Their story involves the lies, deceit, trickery, magic and love. A great read!
