Zoey Dixon grew up with her two sisters in a small, football-obsessed town. She managed to escape the Friday night lights and the turmoil of tutoring her high school jock crush by running into the arms of a college professor. A relationship that must remain secret to protect his advancing career in academia. A situation she doesn’t mind since her parents proved long ago that happily ever after only exists in stories. But when Zoey returns to her hometown for Christmas vacation, her high school crush confesses he’s always loved her. Between his confession and her college professor’s growing emotional distance, she’s questioning her entire view on life, her future, and more importantly her concept of love and being loved.
Ciara Knight is a USA Today bestselling and Maggie Award-winning author of heartwarming romance.
Her popular sweet romance series, Sweetwater County (rated for all audiences and enjoyed by over a million readers), is a small-town romance full of family trials, friendly competition, and community love.
This was an amazing story that I could not put down. I had to keep reading until the end to find out what happens to Zoey. Zoey is this sweet girl who just wants to get out of her small town to see bigger and better things. She lives in a small football town and she has a huge crush on one of the football players but she keeps it from him because she doesn't think he would like her and she is his tutor. So she knows nothing will come from it.
When summer comes and she is ready to go to college she meets a professor that she starts to have an affair with. Things are going good until she goes home for the holidays. That is when she talks to the professor and she suggests she changes her major so they could be together and he scoffs at the idea. That is when Zoey has to decide what to do. The decision is made easy for her when she comes face to face with her crush and they have a great time together. They start building this awesome friendship that leads to something much more and that is what makes the story so amazing!
Zoey is in college and dating a professor but keeping it quiet because he is going for a promotion and she goes home for Christmas to run into her crush Kevin. Kevin heard that Zoey was coming home so he offered to pick up her sister so they could be together. Zoey is suckered into volunteering at the new rehabilitation center and she finds out Kevin is running the whole thing and he can't help but be around her and talk to her. Zoey and Kevin enjoy working together but then Zoey starts to feel guilty about Edward so she calls to talk to him about maybe changing majors so she can be a therapist and he says you can't be serious and then they fight and he hangs up on her and her sister says maybe you should rethink your relationship and then her phone rings but Zoey realizes it is local number and not Edwards and She ends up talking to Kevin until three in the morning and she yawns and he says I should let you get some sleep and then they agree she can come in at eight thirty if she brings scones. They go to Kevin's house that night to go over swatches and they kiss for the first time and she goes days reliving the kiss and then she meets him at the center and tries to pull him into the Hall to kiss and he says where are you going and she said to the Hall to kiss you and he said I don't want to hide this and he kisses her front of everyone and then there is a leak in the bathroom so he sends her to his truck for something and she finds his acceptance letter and she freaks out and runs away and after three days her sister makes her get up and she tells Zoey that Kevin is leaving until she goes back to school so she rushed to his house to talk to him and then he tells her to leave and she does and goes home to cry and on Christmas Eve her sister tells her to get dressed and Zoey says why and she says she's it's Christmas Eve and she jumps out of bed and rushes to the center to find out everyone went to Kevin's house because of another leak but it's just a ploy to get Zoey in front of Kevin so he can ask her to marry him and she says yes and one year late on Christmas Eve they are married in the house they designed when picking out swatches together and she has changed her major to where her and Kevin design houses for disabled people. Awesome book.

As good as the 1st two book, I simply loved. The love, relationship and bond between the sisters once again touched my heart.
Again like the other 2 stories the longing for stability and security plays a strong part in the plot dynamics. With her heart full of longing for a secure marriage Zoey falls for a professor and then in return is forced to hide her relationship because her BF is up for a promotion. What she does not realise is that he is only using her.
When she comes across her college crush things take a turn and between destiny and sisterly interference Zoey reaches right where she belongs.
I hope to read loads more from Ciara Knight.

This is the third book in this series and it was just as good as the first two books. Loved the sister dynamics. The author did a good job of showing us how we can get bogged down by family loyalty and lose sight of our own dreams and aspirations out of a sense of duty and guilt over the sacrifices made by that same family. Zoey is the youngest of the three sisters in the Dixon family and has always wanted a secure life since she and her two sisters were never able to experience that due to their father repeatedly walking out on them and their mother having virtually abandoned them when Sadie was a mere teenager. She feels that she will get the life she wants with Edward, one of her college professors, but does not realize that he is merely using her to advance his own academic career. When she comes home for Christmas vacation she runs into her high school crush and the former star football player she had tutored when they were both in high school. He reveals that he had had a crush on her in high school. Now she has a decision to make. Stay with Edward and his safe life in academia or take a chance on a new path in life with Kevin? She also feels a sense of guilt and loyalty to her oldest sister Sadie for everything Sadie had sacrificed so that Zoey could pursue her dream of going to college.
I enjoyed this trilogy immensely and wish there were more sisters so that the series could continue. I will definitely be watching for more books by Ciara Knight.

What's a girl to do when she lives in a small town obsessed with football and she has to tutor her athletic crush? Well, if you're Zoey, you run from temptation and unrequited feelings and into the arms of your professor. Yeah, maybe not the smartest move, and their relationship must remain a secret, you know so he doesn't lose his job.
Besides, it's not like she still believes in happily ever afters. Her parents broke that innocent part of her that thought she'd eventually get her own fairy tale. And then she returns home, coming face to face with her former crush and getting her mind blown by his confession and struggling to figure out why her in secret boyfriend has become so distant.
Now she's questioning everything. If she made a mistake by not fighting for who she wanted in the beginning, for not sticking up for herself and forcing the professor to show what she thought she meant to him, and if she could get her fairy tale ending after all.
One-click now and follow along as a woman, so sure she had forged the right path for her after giving up on her original dream, must figure out if that future was still possible. I will say, I wish I would've read the previous two books beforehand, but that's on me. It's not that I felt lost, but you can tell there are little things you're missing by not starting at the beginning.- By Elizabeth
I really loved this series. This is book 3 of the series but can be read as a stand alone. It was rather short, but packed a lot in a small package. I loved loved loved Kevin!! He is such a sweetheart and I couldn't help but fall for him immediately. However, Zoey, really ticked me off with her wishy washy attitude. I still liked her, but she really needed to wake up and smell the coffee. I was very happy when she finally woke up and realized what was in front of her the whole time.
Written as a 1st person, single POV. I would have loved to have seen this as a multi pov. Strong story line, awesome description to detail, fantastic dialogue, and loved all of the characters even though Zoey deserved a few lashes with a wet noodle.
Would I recommend this book? Yes
Would I read more from this author? Yes

The Sweet Bride is the 3rd installment in the Gone with the Brides series and it focuses on Zoey. I have NOT read the other two installments and I was able to fully enjoy this one. That said, you should definitely pick up the other two novellas because, why not, right?
I absolutely LOVE Ciara's writing. I am always able to fully submerge myself in her characters and stories...and quickly too!
I really liked Kevin right off the bat. Edward? Not so much. He was arrogant and REALLY need to remove the stick he had up his butt. I loved Zoey's character, though there was a moment there where I wanted to slap her, LOL!! Thank heavens she had her amazing sisters that spoke their minds.
If you enjoy sweet romances, this one if for you. It's a very short read so you could definitely devour it in one sitting. Five Stars!

Zoey is young, going to college and is one of the Dixon sisters. She’s carrying a lot of baggage from her father, the high school football star who kept leaving her mother. So she plays safe and chooses Edward, a college professor who ignores her at best.
Kevin Slayder was the high school football star who Zoey used to tutor. She’s always had a crush on Zoey and treats her so well, but she never sees who’s right in front of her.

This one is just the right kind of story to read on a lazy afternoon. Zoey is home from school and it appears from what happens in the story it was a good thing. Zoey finds out information now she must make a decision Edward or Kevin. The author has written a very realistic story showing the feeling of the characters you will hope that in the end, Zoey makes the right choice but perhaps she will be too late and lose what is important. It was a very good story. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Her professor/boyfriend wanted her to go into academia to further his career. She thought that was what she wanted to, until she went home for the holidays and ran into an old "friend". Because of an injury to one of his high school friends, he built a rehabilitation center in their home town. She enjoyed helping there and was beginning to wonder about her career choices. Can he convince her to stay? Will she realize who her true love is?

Was a nice sweet short story, I didn’t realise it was such a short story ! And that’s why it dissapointed me a bit as I liked the storyline and how it was going and then bam it’s like middle was taken out and here’s the ending, but in saying that. I really enjoyed it and am only disappointed as I wanted it to keep going having more pages so I could keep reading it ! I really liked the characters. I really loved this book and the series. Zoey's book is emotional like the other books and I feel you need to read them all to understand what these sister's have gone through in there lives to be able to get there happy endings. I definitely recommend you read this series and you won't be disappointed.
This is one of those romances that tugs at your heart and keeps it wrapped in a warm lovely cocoon. Kevin and Zoey are perfect together. The last sister to find true love. And a wonderful way to end a story. I loved it!

This was a cute read. The characters were nice, their interactions and chemistry; especially the sisters dynamics, and the story as a whole interesting but I cannot say it blew my mind. Still I would look into other books from this author.

The third book in the Gone with the Brides series is Zoey Dixon and Kevin Slayder's story. I am so glad she found out what Edward was like. A well written story that held my interest throughout. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an entertaining book to the series. It's an enjoyable story with strong characters and an interesting plot. I enjoyed this book as well as the series.

I love this series. I hate it had to end. I think it would cool she she wrote more books about them having a family. I would recommend this series and author to all my family and friends.
I liked Zoey and Kevin. They worked well with each other. I didn't like the scenes where they fought and ran off. Zoey and Kevin did have some issues they had to work out. I liked this book better than Sassy Bride.
I hadn’t realised that this was the third book in a series. It didn’t say this on Booksprout. If it had, I wouldn’t have requested to read it. I felt like I was on the back foot throughout the story as I haven’t read the previous two books, which obviously had background information needed to enjoy this book. The title and book cover were also a little deceptive as it isn’t really about a bride but rather a girl choosing between two men: her current academic boyfriend or her high school crush. From the blurb, I expected this part to only be a part of the books and then move onto her being a ‘bride’ to one of them for the remainder of the book. Taking away the disappointment of the above problems, the book was an acceptable read. It didn’t blow me away but filled a small gap that I had in which to fill with a short novella. I may be inclined to read the first two books to see if I can get a real feel for the sisters and what has happened to them and so that I can relate to this story a little better.
