If the book of Revelation was always confusing to you, you need to read this book. This explained Revelation in such a clear, accessible way that I think everyone can benefit from it. It took me a while to go through this book because I took notes, checked verses that he quoted, and just read through passages from Revelation for myself. His explanations opened my eyes to how the current times are really setting the stage for everything that's mentioned in Revelation. He explains what is literal and what is figurative and although we can't know everything completely, he does a great job of explaining what could be. I still don't know what will really happen but the author makes a great case for his pre-tribulational rapture and pre-millenialism viewpoint. Finally, I appreciated that the author made this topic personal, not just an exposition of Revelation for the sake of knowledge. Throughout the book, he urges the reader to take inventory of their faith, share their faith with others, and even presents the gospel message for any readers who don't know Jesus. The ARC I read did not include any illustrations but from just looking at the Kindle Sample, I think the diagrams/charts would have been helpful. Highly recommended read! * I received this book free of charge from NetGalley.
Having read Todd Hampsons last book, The Non Prophets Guide to the End Times, I knew that this book would be a great tool to help me read and study the book of Revelation. I had read other similar books and had worked my way through Revelation before, but The Non Prophets Guide to Revelation gave me a whole new look into a challenging book! I love Todd Hampson's style of writing and his use of his Non Prophet character throughout to lighten up a sometimes heavy subject. I really appreciated how Todd tied the book of Revelation into the whole of scripture, beginning with the book of Daniel as the foundation for Revelation. The book is full of little surprises, from novel formats at the beginning of chapters that pull you in and onto the edge of your seat, to lots of charts and tables that provide extra enrichments for a deeper look. I found that the challenging sections of Revelation that contained symbolism suddenly became less intimating as Todd offered a number of possibilities as to how we might interpret them, always giving his personal opinion as to the meaning. His treatment of the seal, trumpet and bowl judgments were riveting causing the Word to come alive and jump off the page! I loved that after the judgements he talked about Salvation and explained the opportunity. A very timely place for that indeed! As does the book of Revelation, The Non Prophets Guide to the Book of Revelation ends on a high note as it discusses the final showdown between Satan and our Conquering King Jesus and the 1000 year millennial reign, the great white throne judgement and the new Heaven and new Earth!! I loved this book! It gave a great framework along with fascinating details that brought an understanding to the book of Revelation that I've never had. I highly recommend this book!!
Have you ever read books written by pastors and theologians who try to explain Bible prophecy and you end up understanding nothing whatsoever? Well, this book is nothing of the sort! The non-prophet is an amusing character who will show you the way through the most mysterious book of the Bible: REVELATION. This will be done by means of entertaining cartoons, quick facts, informative charts and well-written explanations, suitable for the layman.
Don’t worry if you haven’t ever studied Bible prophecy or if you are terrified of what is to come according the prophetic calendar. Actually, if you are in any of the previous situations, the more reason you have to read this book of to share it with others unfamiliar with the topic!
If you are a person acquainted with every prophetic term and doctrine who thinks this book has nothing new to offer you, let me tell you that you couldn’t be more mistaken! The author really did his homework while writing this book and touches on several interpretations when such exist, it is really nice to read possibilities you may not have heard of before, and you will most certainly come across a few of them.
I highly recommend this book to everyone! Actually, everybody must hear the wonderful news the Non-Prophet is sharing in this volume. You may only want to flick through The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the Book of Revelation or to go into deep theological study while using this book (it is appropriate for both uses) but whatever you do, I promise you will not regret reading it! Let the Non-Prophet be your guide! — no pun intended.
If you are like me, you’ve always considered the last book of the Bible to be confusing, strange, and not really applicable to people living today. A new book from Harvest House Publishers, however, completely debunks each of these myths and helps us understand the book of Revelation as the fascinating and relevant message to humanity that it is. “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the Book of Revelation: Bible Prophecy for Everyone” is a user-friendly book that is carefully researched and backed by facts, and is packed with entertaining graphics and helpful visuals such as timelines and charts. If you are ready to begin uncovering what God is telling us in the words of Revelation, this book will set you off to a great start!
“The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the Book of Revelation” is the second book I’ve read by Todd Hampson - the first was “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the End Times”. Both of these fascinating and theologically-sound books (endorsed and supported by leading theologians) have been a huge blessing to me and my family as they help us uncover the challenging teachings of Revelation.
Honestly, I don’t think you are ever going to find more reader-friendly and down-to-earth books about these topics. I have always been rather afraid of the idea of the end times, and in my mind understanding the book of Revelation was completely unattainable. However, Todd’s books completely changed my perspective and made the study of these topics not only doable, but also fun! As outlandish as that may sound, it’s true. Still don’t believe me? I challenge you to read “The Non-Prophet’s Guide to the Book of Revelation”, and see for yourself just how exhilarating and meaningful Bible prophecy can be!

This book has just enough detail to bring clarity to what can be a very complicated book of the Bible. Todd Hampson uses very helpful charts and timelines to help the reader get mentally organized and grasp the meaning behind the symbols and apocalyptic language used in the book of Revelation. As we head toward the Christmas season to celebrate the first coming of the Lord - as Savior - let's also celebrate the Fullness of the Lord as revealed in His second coming - as Triumphant King of Kings and Lord of Lords! Study this wonderful book as Todd helps us understand it and be confident in sharing with others.
I have always found the book of Revelations to be hard and difficult to understand. This book has been more clarifying than any I have previously read on this book. The book itself was engaging to read with all it's illustrations, charts tidbits of information. I liken this experience as two friends sitting down and having some serious discussions. You don't need to be a divinity student or Minister to be able to read and more importantly to understand this book. I found it to be well written and thoroughly researched by Todd. I came to read this book because of his first one: " The Non-Prophet's Guide To The End Times". I also highly recommend that one. I have come away from reading both books with a much better understanding of the book of Revelation and the book of Daniel.
Both of Todd's books are "Best book ever!!" We just finishing up a small group study of The Non-Prophet's Guide to the End Times." It was so clear, easy to read, follow and understand. Great illustrations, charts, and explanations. Lays out all views of the rapture, millennium, and interpretation, then presents what he views as the Biblical perspective. But it also connects the dots between what we hear on the news and what was prophesied 2600 years ago! Great discussion opener in a small group!! Just finishing up reading his Revelation book and plan to use that with our group. It's equally engaging, easy to understand, and so readable with great charts and illustrations. Definitely a must read!
Revelation 1:3 tells us "blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near". Just finished reading this book (had an advanced copy). It is truly amazing. The book of Revelation is hard to understand if you have not read it and studied it. This book breaks it down with graphics and pictures to help the reader understand and learn what the bible is foretelling us! We are living in biblical times and we should all be aware of what is coming! I strongly recommend if you are wondering what in the world is going on today, to pick up a copy and find out! You will not be disappointed.
I given a copy of this book for review purpose. I found the Book of Revelation to be a difficult study and years of effort before I did start to understand what I was reading. This book made much of the content far easier to understand. I wished I had this book when I was studying, it would have been far easier.
I did enjoy the cartoons added in the chapters, they were well drawn and helped highlight a point form the discussion on that chapter. This book make a good study, not a complete guide the general information is here and understandable.
By far, this is the best book i have ever read on the book of Revelation! Todd makes incredible use of his artistic ability and is able to interpret these biblical signs from 2000 years ago into something that readers today will comprehend! Taking the concept from his first book the non-prophets guide to the end times, Todd digs deeper into the final book of the bible to provide details that will blow your mind in ways that you may have never considered! Keep up the good work Todd, the LORD had blessed you, I cant wait to read your next books!!! ---Mr Q.
Great book., Uses animation and cartoons to describe end times, used a chart to tell everyone step by step what will happen first from Rapture, the 7 year peace deal, to tribulation, to the trumpets, the seals, the bowls, the false prophet, the Antichrist, the two witnesses, the 144,000 virgin Jewish prophets, to last battle at Armageddon and second coming of Jesus to New JERUSALEM... I got my copy at Barnes and Noble in a physical store and worth every penny...
I really appreciated this! I know Christians who either don't have any solid beliefs about what's happening in this one, or are overly dogmatic. Studying every book of the Bible is important, and I didn't like that I was so in the dark about Revelation and most of what I knew were assumptions and misunderstandings I got from relatives or from the time I skimmed it when I was 6. And I didn't want to read any difficult books using words I didn't know yet until I had a basic understanding. So I was very happy when I found this book at my church. Todd approaches prophecy by using Scripture to study Scripture, shows you how to take it at its word and where the symbolism is and what it means, and gives you a helpful timeline. He is also honest about the few things that are his own opinion. He makes it very down to earth, and easy to track with, but always careful. I'm the kind of person who would want to learn more, but doesn't want to overanalyze, and this was a perfect springboard into studying Revelation myself without dying. I would recommend this book to Christians to gain a basic understanding of what's going on in Revelation and with the end of the world, and to non-Christians who want to know what we believe concerning that.
