Hollywood - the glitz, the glamour, and a threatening stalker. Is it all just part of the limelight?
Working in the private sector has its perks, but boring cases isn't one of them. The most dangerous thing about Alexis Parker's latest P.I. gig is the selection of foods at craft services, or so she's been told. Hired as a technical consultant, Alex is supposed to give Dinah Allen, the newest Hollywood It girl, an insider's look at what it means to be a woman in the FBI, but the last thing Alex wants to do is revisit traumatic experiences for someone's entertainment.
When strange things start happening on set, Alex finds herself in the midst of an investigation. Dinah has a past that might be coming back to haunt her. There's a fine line between crazed fan and stalker, and whoever's obsessed with Dinah just crossed that line.
G.K. Parks has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. After spending some time in law school, G.K. changed paths and earned a Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Now, that education is being put to use, creating a fictional world based upon years of study and research.

When Alex is sent to a movie set as a consultant for Cross security, she’s bored, wary, and altogether dissatisfied. Then the woman she’s consulting for, Dinah, receives unwanted flowers for a second time, and a stalker is born.
As the threats escalate, Lucien, her boss, wants Alex to investigate, but secretly, so the press don’t get wind of what’s going on.
Intermingled is the fact that Martin is somehow involved with Dinah, and even when Alex believes he’s not cheating, things are still suspicious.
Martin is a stalwart, a sweet man who loves Alex entirely. She has a harder time saying she loves him, but she’s proving she can change and not run away.
Fun plot on a movie set, and I had my own suspicions about the identity of the stalker, which turned out to be right. Interesting read.
G.K. Parks has written another case for Alex to immerse herself in, using her training and instinct to pull tiny clues together to find a dangerous stalker. Since I have zero interest in the television snd movie industry, I'm still not surprised that the plot, characters and intensity kept me interested until the not so surprising end. Alex is complicated and driven and a character I sometimes don't like, but her relationship with James Martin has, from the beginning, let readers watch the healing power of love and commitment change their lives. The first book in this series remains my favorite because it drew me in to the world of the investigator and the rich guy but each new book continues to offer quality characters and exciting plots.
A story set amongst celebrities, who will do anything to put a positive spin on whatever occurs. Not as good as other novels in this series, felt the author had little tolerance for her character's excesses, but was a shade wary to be as blunt & direct as normal - is there a movie deal in the ether? I.did wonder how often the author got annoyed or frustrated with her characters lacking the gumption to lash out verbally. I felt Lance's electrocution was a release for G K Parks, enough was enough. His punishment for being so obnoxious. I know characters tend to tread their own path, for many novelists the planned path is deviated from by the natural development of the subject.
Alex and Martin have secrets because of the same woman. She's an actress and her client for Cross Security and an old friend who got her start designing for his mother. They've both signed a nondisclosure agreement. The actress is being stalked and it takes a lot of twists and turns and Alex getting shot to find who it was. Martin is brokering a deal with a designer through the actress to get his mother's portfolio back and succeeds. They have disclosed everything to each other and are building their trust some more.
I have read this series each book in one sitting and it never gets dull. Alexis is a formidable enemy to come against and she is relentless until she gets to the truth!! Her relationship with James Martin with it's hot romance and turbulant problems just adds to the adventure. Bravo!!!
This book is not my favorite at all. In fact, I almost disliked this one completely. The only saving grace was how it turned out in the end, and the hero apologizing. The case was interesting, but the drama with the hero and heroine was completely stupid and pointless.
Love all your books. Have read the series up to this point and have all the books to finish it. Love the mystery and romance. Want the romance to continue therefore I want more of Martin and happiness and love.
This is a great thriller. I loved it. I keeps you in suspense until the very end. This is a book I could not put down. I highly recommend this book and series.
This book was one of my favorites from the series. Finally, Martin and Alexis might get it right. The careers of these two are constantly getting in the way and yet they both make the series interesting for the reader.
I have never been disappointed with a book by G K Parks. What a wonderful author! I have greatly enjoyed each book in this series. (Alex Parker mysteries). I highly recommend this book and also this author.
At the time of this review, there are 27 books in this series. I am now reading this series for the second time. I absolutely devour this series. It is exciting and suspense filled. I love the characters and the plot lines. I highly recommend this series.
This has not been one of the better books. The perpetrator was known to me very early. This book was so predictable that it's a miracle I finished it. Too boring.
