His Moon

Kaia's life is a prison. Ever since her mother's murder, her dad hardly ever lets her out of the house, even going so far as to homeschool her, not to mention how he keeps secrets from her. According to him, it's too dangerous for Kaia to leave the house. Why? A series of attacks make it clear why her father has always been so paranoid, and these are not just regular attacks—the woods are full of werewolves. The second she steps too far into the forest, she must confront the secret world of the lycanthrope. It's a dangerous, bloody world, but it just might be her destiny. Kaia must find out the truth about the giant wolves lurking in the woods, about herself, and about her mysterious, handsome rescuer who tells her they were made for each other. Who better to meet her fate alongside her than her mate? Especially when his heart is just as damaged as hers, if not more so.

Audiobook review: His Moon is a light romance without explicit scenes. The couple faces several challenges from the start. The storyline is interesting and the characters are endearing. The narrator is slower than I prefer, a speed increase to 1.5x worked well for me. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I have tried for over a month to finish this book and finally just quit. I just can't. Kaila goes from this strange life in her family where her dad and brother keep secrets to a pack life where she isn't fully made aware of everything to being faced with the man who murders her mother and she still doesn't get all her answers. At this point i quit. There is just so much a person can dedicate to non-answers in a book. Once you reach the halfway point...when NOTHING is answered yet it is beyond frustrating. This is the 1st book Ihave quit in 3 years. I have read over 150 books in 3 years so that says a lot.

Wanted to Love It

I wanted to love this book, I really did! I’m obsessed with soulmates and wolves, both of which this book had. Some parts were super interesting, and the idea was awesome, but the book needs some serious editing. I only made it 30 or 40 percent through because it was so....much.

I didn’t find any big errors, but this book is SO WORDY. Everything Kaia was feeling was repeated again and again and again and again and again and.... you get the idea. I really tried to force myself to keep going, but it was just too much. The plot and world building was brushed over for the sake of repeatedly trying to force me to believe that the couple was soooo in love when there was never a single moment that the book really showed how much they cared about each other.

Show, don’t tell, is a real thing apparently.

I hope this author keeps writing, because the story has so much potential! If we could get out of Kaia’s feelings and stop hearing just how fervently she loves the guy and really see something happen, it would be a great book! But this story could honestly be told with 1/10th as many words and it’s just too much.

Also, I never made it far enough to find out if there was anything explicit but it was leading that direction. What I did read was clean though, which I appreciated!

This is a wonderful story! The story has many ups and downs throughout. Just when you think all is well....guess what it’s not. The characters have a such growth to them. Even though Kaia and Caleb are main characters. It seems like most of the characters get their story or are somehow involved in others. I greatly enjoyed getting to meet All these characters but Lionel was a favorite almost from the beginning. His story...WOW!

This is my first book by this author. She does a good job creating characters that are easy to like and very intertwined with each other. I did listen to this on audio. This is my first time listening to Traci Arlene. She did a good job and was pleasant to listen to.

It was different, but good.

This book was good, but it took me quite a while to get into it. Not because of the story, that was good, but because of the writing. It's very elaborate, theatrical, and emotional, I'm not used to that type of writing. It ended at kind of a weird spot, they left so much undone or unanswered, at least that's how I felt. I really liked Kaia's character, she seemed beautiful, and graceful, and smart, and naîve. Kaleb was a tortured character, but so in love with Kaia. I recommend this book if you're looking for a love story with a bit of action, magic, and mystery. Enjoy!

Let me start off by saying that this isn't one of the clichéd werewolf books that so often come around. The author has beautifully written this book and breathed life into such wonderful characters that you can't help but fall in love with, especially Kaleb and how lovable and vulnerable his character, and that makes him the strongest of them all. I cannot applaud the author enough for weaving this enthralling and magical story. Once you start reading this book, you won't wanna put it down. This book makes me wanna have my own Kaleb, as it does to other readers, for sure.

His Moon starts off really interesting, but almost half way through it seems to shift, than a little more into it, it shifts again. Some of the shifts didn't seem to fit that well with the characters personality, it was a bit frustrating, and the only other thing I didn't like was how long winded the dialogue was at times. Sometimes it was sweet and interesting, but other times it felt overused and made the book extremely long.

I struggled so much with this book.
So many questions and so little answers it gave me anxiety.
From the lies of her family, to unanswered questions from the person that killed her mother. (She left her mate to confront him 🤣 she has been spineless her whole life but her confidence was through the roof when she took this decision. I mean what???)
And it is 500 pages, why? You don't have to make a book a thousand pages, with unnecessary information..

Eh..

Yes, was a different take on werewolves, however it felt like a slow read with predictable points. The story felt patched together. I didn't feel any connection to any character. It felt shallow as if there was no depth to dive into and explore the world. The story had multiple villains and could have played them up and built the story more to be believable, but fell flat.

Emotional

This book had too many feelings. You would go pages upon pages without a dialogue. Too many emotions. Constantly hearing what one person thought of another person is overkill!

Fantastic read. 🐺

This book had a interesting take on lycanthropes/werewolves. Really great story with tons of mystery. Very exciting romance between the MC's. Loved the bond between all the characters that made such a family. Recommend if you like different supernatural reads.

I could not put this book down. Lounge of the best lycanthrope reads I've ever read. Thanks, can't wait for more.

Get rid of about 200 pages and 3 of the villains. It felt like a pile on of bad guys after Jacob. He seemed to be the big bad, and he corrupted the H. The h Kaia had to save her mate, ending with HEA. Wanted more dialogue especially at the beginning, a lot of telling and hardly any showing. I liked the characters though. Kaia and Kaleb, Lionel and Cole, even Ben and Rosy. Kaia’s dad kind of disappeared after his”shooting” time. Would have loved more with him and his dislike for the lycanthropes.
