A non-shifter, non-alpha/omega m-preg story with 60000 words and a happy ending. These are the first two books in the Unexpected series.
This is a new edition of Alex’s Surprise and Saving Alex. For your reading pleasure, they’re now both together in one book. If you’ve purchased Alex’s Surprise & Saving Alex, you do not need to repurchase this edition. This is the first and second book in the : Unexpected Book Series
This was a decent start to a new supernatural/paranormal series in this first book it's about two best friends Alex and Sam who where orphaned when they young still teenagers but stuck together as they became adults . It turns out that both Alex and Sam have been in love with each other for a long time but both think that the other only see them as just best friends . All of this takes place in a world where Vampires and werewolves , witches are out to the human race where it's against the law for a man to get pregnant and yeah men can get pregnant . If a man is caught he will be put in prison and his child will be taken from him and put in foster care so this is where our story starts . Alex bored goes out to have some fun and hopefully hook up with a hot guy . But who Alex hooks up with is a Vampire Prince who it turns out can get a man pregnant . Although Alex does use protection the condom breaks so Alex panics because he doesn't know if he's just contracted a sexual disease he has no idea that he's actually pregnant . So after Alex gets a negative result in not having contracted any diseases he goes on with life as usual . But thing's start to change as his pregnancy starts to become obvious and of course that is when the real panic starts . What will happen to Alex if anyone finds out he'll go to Jail his baby will be taken from him Alex can't tell anyone not even his beloved Sam . To make matters worse he had sex with a vampire it was only suppose too be a one night thing how can Alex raise a hard human Hart vampire child when he doesn't know what to expect . Thankfully Alex finally confides in San who's there for him through thick and thin Sam decides to go to the club that Alex picked up the vampire to let him know what happened and get his help . And Sam does find him and it turns out that he is a decent person who helps Alex out any way that he can . He even finds a doctor for Alex to help him stay healthy I have to say that a lot happens in this book but I have to say that for me Sam and the Prince made the best couple although they don't end up together they should have . All in all this was a decent read .
PLEASE READ FIRST MY RATING SYSTEM!!! To my ratings (for all people, who wonder, why I say a 3*-book is a good book and should be readed): 5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like Liberty from Seth King or Save the kids series from EM Leya). it’s like an A+ 4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) It’s like an A 3* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It’s like an A-B 2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartly, but it was ok) It’s like an C- D 1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (maybe too many mistakes, not a nice plot, or unlogical story, so a NO-GO) It’s like failure in the whole line, dismissed, repeat the class
This was quite good with a very good storyline. A bit convoluted when the vamps get involved when one of the humans (Alex or Sam) go missing.
This is MPREG but it has a plausibility. It is when an MPREG is "just there suddenly" that I dislike it. Explain how it is done and how the man getting pregnant is changed.
The story is light, fun, erotic, until one of the humans is kidnapped. Angst is jammed up a few notches and yeah, there were a few places where I thought the worst. So, if you cry easily, have your kleenex handy.
Interesting premise, but the execution was a bit clunky, in my opinion. The transition from pining friends to lovers was abrupt and I noticed a few plot holes. I would have liked more world building too. The human laws regarding male pregnancies never really got explained or turned out to be a very big deal plot-wise.
