Every relationship is marked by the turning of the year, a time for people to reconnect and reaffirm the love that brought them together. The couples from Tactical Submission celebrate their anniversaries in their own unique ways, acknowledging just how long they have been in each other's lives with intimate passion, trust, and devotion.
Lydia is having a horrible, no-good, very bad day at the office. Luckily for her, it’s her anniversary with Amalie, who knows how to release Lydia's tension better than anyone else.
No one thought their marriage would last, but Isaac and Amalie have finally, officially beaten the state's divorce odds and are celebrating in their own special style.
It’s been a long year of major changes for Jack and Isaac, even if Jack doesn't feel like much time has passed at all. While he's focused on another big change, though, Isaac is planning a special treat to remind him of what really matters.
A psychologist once told Ada Maria Soto that she has a fantasy prone personality. Fortunately, Ada grew up to become an author, so a life lived deep in her imagination fits her perfectly. As a Mexican-American expat living in the South Pacific with her partner and kid, her life is chaotically divided between being a writer, a publisher, and a parent.
Dysgraphia, phonological dyslexia, and ADHD makes for some exciting editing, but Ada continues to push through with a writing career. She’s a veteran of the theatre and television business, as well as all the lousy jobs that come with two liberal arts degrees.
Ada’s ability to capture the complex inner life of her characters in moving, yet relatable, ways endears readers to her unforgettable characters. Whether writing hot, spicy erotica or “tame” romances about asexual characters, she creates stories that readers return to again and again.
When not buried under manuscripts, Ada is a sports fan dedicated to the Oakland A’s, Auckland Blues, USA Eagles, and New Zealand Black Caps.
This was a great dive back into the world of the Windsor Club and I very much enjoyed it. From the author's note I gathered that some readers really disliked some of the... I don't want to say relationships because the series follows a polyamorous relationship so they're technically all linked together, at least as metamours. But apparently some of the pairings within the overall polyamorous arrangement have been the subject of a lot of dislike. This baffles me because I adored them all and I felt each person has great chemistry with their partner(s) so I was delighted to get to spend more time with them.
The book gathers three short stories that celebrate the anniversaries of various couples within the polyamorous relationship. I adored Amelie and Lydia's section, I thought it was so fun - and I was so pleased to see more of their dynamic because we didn't get to see as much of them in Tactical Submission. I also found Isaac and Amelie's story to be really fun - for some reason when I read the first book I didn't realise they had a sexual relationship as well as a romantic one, so that was a fascinating dynamic to explore in this. (By which I mean to hint that this book has lots of sex. I mean, it is erotica. Go figure.) Isaac and Jack feature less prominently in this, which I felt was more than fair since they did get an entire book dedicated to them already, but if you're specifically looking for extra Jack/Isaac content then be aware that this has less of a focus on them.
My only issue really was a very small thing, but it did start to bother me quite quickly. I am trying to be less picky about typos in books - especially self-published books, since the author doesn't have the benefit of a proofreading team to catch them on their errors. We're all human, after all. However, this book had a LOT of typos. I disregarded the first few, but at one point it felt like there was a typo on every other page and it did start to distract me. I think that considering this is such a short book (only 13,000 words) to have so many errors is a bit annoying. I'm sure this wouldn't bother most people, but it is a pet peeve of mine and while I could have forgiven a couple of lapses, this was a pretty consistent issue.
This was a fun read and a great addition to the series, and I'd happily read more books by this author, I just think it would have benefited from a quick proofread.
It was a treat to catch up with the characters from Tactical Submission! I loved this chance to see the 3 variations in this polyamorous relationship. It was well done!
This was ok. Nothing spectacular. Lots of sex (F/F, M/F, and M/M), all good vibes, but no plot or character development. It was an extended epilogue of the first book.
