"As I'm standing there trying to figure out what the hell is happening to me, I realize all the rest of introductions have been made. I also realize I want to rip all my brothers' hands off for daring to touch my woman's hand. The stress may have finally finished me off."Although he isn't looking for forever, one night he sees her, his "Angel," the woman who will change his thinking and his life, forever, but before he can meet her, she disappears. He is shocked to realize the woman being offered in the merger is his "Angel." Lukas refuses to allow one of his brothers marry her, so he decides to marry Madison Steele himself. Falling for Madison turns the once aloof and disinterested Billionaire into a possessive and jealous alpha male intent on gaining his wife's love while trying to protect his company from someone determined to destroy it."My Forever, My Angel," is Book 1 in the Ryan Family Series which follows the merger of two powerful families that begins when George Ryan agrees to help an old friend's family save his company. Each book is a standalone book, but the stories are intertwined and are best if they are read in order.
I never suspected Max was behind the leak and kidnapping with Marta. I guess in the end they still lost. Lukas and Madison were perfect together and I can't wait to read the next book.
3.5 Stars Luka’s angel is book one in the Ryan family series. This story is short, fast paced and an entertaining read. I read this book in one sitting. Luka’s angel is the first book of Loni Ree’s that I have read. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline entertaining. In charge of his family and the family business, Luka Ryan has commitments. When he has to merge his business with another, he has an arranged marriage to go through with. He has a choice of being the one to marry or to pick one of his brothers to stand in his place. What Luka doesn’t expect is to see a girl he considers his angel and want her. What he doesn’t expect is her to be the intended bride. Madison Steele doesn’t like the spotlight. When she has to marry for business, she isn’t sure on what to expect. I liked Luka and Madison together but I didn’t see any chemistry between them until the end of the story. Luka was cold towards Madison. After shutting her out and keeping his distance, he decides to give in to his feelings. He is determined to make a real relationship with Madison. I felt sorry for Madison. She was moved into the Ryan family home yet didn’t feel a connection. Every time she or the Ryan siblings tried to talk to her, Luka would put a stop to it. That being said, as the story progressed, I did see the feelings between them. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an entertaining read.
This book by Loni Ree about Madison Steele, a young woman used as a pawn by her family to bring help and support to save her family’s business by agreeing to have her marry into the successful Ryan family. She’s her family’s second choice for the union to Lucas Ryan, the eldest son. He’s not going to settle and opts to offer one of his brothers until he finds out that Madison is none other than the Angel he has been obsessing about since he saw her weeks before. He steps up his game in winning her over and along the way the two encounter obstacles and misunderstandings that they seem to be able to conquer until they are faced with an evil force determined to ruin his company and he encounters the ultimate betrayal. There are a few twists and turns but it all does seem predictable in the storyline. The story was a bit lackluster in places in the beginning but it picked up on the second half of the book when I found the budding love affair between Madison and Lucas heartwarming. I found editing errors disturbed the flow of the book.
To start, I believe this author has promise. I liked the premise of the book, but it needs more work. The language between the two major characters was stilted, almost robotic. The first few chapters there was a great amount of repetition (whole paragraphs were repeated). The intrigue was interesting. In fact, it was more interesting than the romance. I didn't understand how the heroine had a job as an accountant then spent all her days reading. She was a wealthy, college educated, career woman who broke down in tears whenever he yelled. Ugh, no! Also, there were a lot of characters and I was getting confused. Then, the situation with the best friend and I had to backtrack through the book to figure out who he was. All in all, with a bit more work, the book could be really good. Excellent original plot but it also felt like situations were thrown in.
This is the first book I’ve read from this author and I hope to see more. The story was predictable with the usual tropes but it was written fairly well. I would have liked to felt more emotion from the characters. We were told they had them but I didn’t FEEL them as much as I would have liked. Several additional stories could branch off this one so I can see were the series could be heading due to the siblings involved. A definite plus is that there are few errors or typos. Overall, I’d recommend to my friends that like quick romance with billionaires and virgin/near virgin heroines
DNF. I can't for the life of me, find why this book has a 4.0 rating. 1. He's a manwhore. Didn't kick out Marta even though she tried tons of times to insert herself. 2. The fmc, was attracted which i don't understand. Cause he's an asshat which she was aware of. And Martha was always on the side. I'd be talking to him first thing about his mistresses the moment the engagement is announced. Well i can't really blame her since they needed the partnership, what i don't understand is why in the world would you still be attracted in this asshole.
Lukas has been running his family company since his grandfather retired & his parents passed away. His brothers help but not much, and his sister Annie has her own business. When a family friend ask for help of grandfather they step in but in one condition, he has to marry Lucy and Bradley marries Annie. But Lucy his pregnant but someone, so Madison is suppose to marry one of the brothers until Lukas see her and falls in love.
My first read by the author and it did not disappoint. The author got Lukas character right, he is you typically alpha male that doesn’t give a damn which I loved. But when he meets Madison the mighty falls and he falls hard. Madison is quite innocent for my taste and I don’t know if I would have enjoyed her more if her character had more backbone. Overall a good read and 8 can’t wait for the next book in this series.
She has an unexplainable hold over me. Every day I wake up and think, today will be the day that I start to feel normal again. Then, all I have to do is spend a few minutes in her presence, and the opposite happens; she draws me further and further under her spell.-Lukas
From the beginning the storyline kept me intrigued. I tend to stick to really quick reads but I was pleasantly surprised with this book and totally enjoyed it!
