I highly recommend this book. For both the general reader and anyone who suffers from anxiety. I have taken a load away from this book.

I ordered and read this book to help with an article I was writing for work on managing employees who are experiencing anxiety - what with COVID-19, riots and burning buildings, the most divisive election of our time and all that. I don’t normally buy books to research articles but I was coming off an extremely rare series of what felt like project failures, my confidence was shot and I had read the author was an expert in workplace anxiety. It couldn’t hurt. I was a few chapters in when I realuzed anxiety had dogged me since childhood when I believed rehearsing for calamities would help me deal with them. Stewart Geddes’ book is the best self-help book I’ve ever read. He writes with the authority of someone who has been there, is still there sometimes. He doesn’t recount too many of his own experiences - just enough to assure you he knows what he’s talking about. I can’t encourage you strongly enough: read this book. His toolkits are so valuable. Don’t wait 50 years, like me to get relief.

Delighted I came across "The Professional Worrier". It was very reassuring, and easy to read, and helped me to think about my anxiety in a much more manageable way. The practical exercises have made a huge difference in my daily work life. I would recommend this book to anyone who finds they waste too much of their time worrying needlessly.

Nicely laid out and easy to read. I’d have liked more things to do to improve and it’s written for those with anxiety rather than supporting people with anxiety. It starts off saying it won’t help GAD and it doesnt- that said some good techniques

First self help book I’ve read, it was definitely good and I have learnt some helpful information. However I feel like it could have been so much shorter, there was a lot of repeated or unnecessary info imo. Still a really good book and I recommend for those who are dealing with anxiety.
