Post -Flood: Life After the Great Flood of Noah

Rate this book
In "Post-Flood," young teenager Havilah travels with his grandfather/mentor across the region between the Black and Caspian Seas. During the space of just one week the two travelers encounter creatures both fascinating and dangerous in the post-flood environment. The journey begins in a village not far north of Mount Ararat and the remains of Noah's ark, continues to the Caucuses Mountains and the evidence of the coming age of ice, passes through the great animal migrations brought on by the changing climate and concludes on the north shore of the Aras River. As his grandfather explains the design and function of the Creation, Havilah comes to see the hand of the Creator God in every aspect of life amidst the flora and fauna of the plateau. The two travelers meet descendants of Noah, men and women who are busy repopulating their portion of the earth. God has certainly spared mankind from complete annihilation through the merciful provision of the Ark but will man learn his lesson from that historic catastrophe? Some men will turn to the Creator God but as the memory and the meaning of the flood fades over the years, others will choose to worship man-made idols . The purpose of this novel is to outline how men may have coped with the new environment following the Great Flood. The vocabulary is intended to be a challenge for a young teenager. A synonym is inserted in the text following difficult words where possible but we recommend keeping a dictionary close at hand! The reader will be challenged by the strange and often dangerous plants and animals of Havilah's world including dinosaurs and the large warm blooded mammals that coexisted with man and finally became extinct during the post-flood era. Most importantly, the reader will experience along with Havilah a new reverence for the Creator God and an appreciation for His mercy toward those that He created. Come explore the post-flood world from the perspective of a "young" earth and a "recent" creation set within the historical framework of the Bible as found in Genesis chapters one through eleven.
