A stunning secret from Jet's past plunges her headlong into a dangerous operation that could well be her last. Immersed in a world of deceit and brutality, only her training and skills stand between her and disaster in a war-torn nation on the brink.
I keep waiting for the day that Jet tells the powers that be to go to hell when they come to her with an impossible mission. I think she was close this time, but when the person that needed saving had an odd connection to Jet I knew she would go.
Of course, if it could go wrong it did. So many times Jet and the person she was after seemed to get ahead, only to have something happen that thwarted any progress. I hated what happened to Jet's protectee, because there was so much promise of what could happen when they got home.
I loved the last move that Jet had in Libya, it was very much needed.
As much excited as Jet had, Matt and Hannah seemed to have some of their own. Like Matt I'm worried, things got a little to close there. I feel like Jet is not adequately seeing the threat for what it is.
Russell Blake's "Jet" series are ripping good 'airplane reads'- hard to put down, and entertaining. I have read 3-4 of the series, out of sequence, but find no problem with that. The writer does his research-even if, as is probably this case with this one, he has not actually been to post-Qaddafi Libya. Some of the story line stretches one's imagination (two female special agents fleeing killers on the road from a ruined Saharan town to Tripoli, for ex.), but it does not detract from my enjoyment. All I can say is "keep 'em coming", Russell Blake!
Last 2 or 3 of this series I have only given 3* to. This deserved 4. It's slightly different to the other 2 or 3 in that all of the sub stories were actually relevant. At last some of the hints from previous books are starting to come together and Jet and family are beginning to have implications of previous missions coming back to haunt them As fast paced and action filled as ever
Jet is one of my favorite characters in this genre. Russell Blake has a great command of the genre too. His writing is always on point and keeps me engaged. I’ve followed Jet from her first days right up to now and if there is another... I’ll be reading it!
Loved this one as well, but I’m puzzled about something. Ok, we know that Jet was involved with David, code name, Ariel, and then there was Alan, code name, Rain who she was also involved with, but when she meets Salma, another half-sibling, only David is mentioned to her. Did the writer forget about Alan??? Other than that pet peeve of mine, I enjoyed the book. I’ll be glad when Jet & hopefully Matt can assist, get rid of all the bad hunting them. Especially that Russian she help by returning his daughter. Ungrateful prick.
Will she EVER be able to settle down? It seems like there’s always another vital mission. The author doesn’t spare anyone from his scorn, from the US government, to the Israelis, to the terrorists and extremists, to all the European governments. It’s a typical unbelievable Blake plot, but he makes it work.
Another exciting adventure with Jet being coerced into another damgerous mission by the Director who seems unable to understand agreements unless its to his own giant benefit.......and throwing in save your ountry and oh your child's aunt- shameful but then he does know how to pull on Jet's emotions.........needless to say what copuld go wrong did but somehow she finds her way through the mayhem to return safely home to her family..........really is time for Jet to say a big fat "NO" to the director!
Jet, Mossad operative. Retired? Not likely. She has to go into one of the hottest, most lethal spots on the face of the earth to complete a mission. It's personal. Non stop action, once you start reading, you can't put it done. Enjoyed immensely!!
Jet must travel to Libya to rescue an undercover agent but as usual nothing goes as planned. Meanwhile back in Israel Matt and Hannah find themselves being watched by a suspected bad guy.
Another great story from this great series. This is one of my favorite series. Like all of Mr. Blake’s series, this was a fast action filled story. I can’t wait until the next book.
It's said that familiarity breeds contempt, not in the case of the Jet series. After 15 books, there isn't anything new or groundbreaking, but very comforting in that Jet will kick ass, and yet we know that a side assassin seeking revenge is pursuing her for the next book. Bring it on!
This was an extremely intense, complex, and suspenseful thriller that will hook you from beginning to end. It's a fantastic series for those who love thrillers. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Typical Jet activity, free style, fearless and relentless while single-handedly overpowering her foes. She makes it personal this time. Fun quick read.
I never tire of my favorite female hero, although this one really had me on edge. I am waiting with baited breath for the next one. Jet never disappoints.
A rather enthralling series. Jet can certainly get herself into some tight situations, but always finds a way out. Looking forward to reading future books.
I have read every book in this series and I must say each one seems to be better than the last. I want to reach the end of the book yet somehow I don’t want it to finish. I just love Jet! Great read
I started reading the Jet series after I first read Quantum Synapse I wanted to read more of Russell Blake's work, and I am SO glad I did. Well done, sir.
