ACCLAIMED CHRISTIAN INSPIRATIONAL SERIES

She wanted marriage. But he hated commitment—especially marriage. Will their love survive?

Discounted from $4.99. Don't miss out!

Rebecca Singer had wanted to be a wife and mother since she was a little girl. Meeting handsome Tanner Huddleston, and falling in love with him hadn’t been in her plans. She also wasn’t prepared to handle his aversion to a lifetime commitment of marriage, but she wouldn’t accept anything less. When pressure mounts on him from life, will he give her up and stay independent? Will she walk away or take a chance on God’s plan of marriage for them and wait for him to learn?

Tanner Huddleston was devastated when his big sister, Sharon’s life unraveled. He watched her struggle to pick up the pieces, trusting in the God he’d given up on a long time ago. Relying on his wit to navigate him through life, he soon found out the people he confided in had plans for him they never shared—plans targeted to pull him down. So, he got craftier.

So far, he’d done pretty well keeping his secrets from popping open and his lies perfectly in a row, making sure his family believed he was where he had to be and doing what he had to do—until he got caught at the wrong place, with the wrong things, and by the right people. With all his plans ruined and a bleak future staring him in the face, Tanner decided he’d never trust anyone again and definitely never commit to marrying anyone.

Questions trailed him. His brokenhearted parents searched his life for distant answers while the love he could’ve had slipped from his hands.

Now at crossroads and without options, could he give this God his family loved but Whom he never cared about a chance to fix his mess? When he hits rock bottom amid the rubble of his stack of lies, will he yield his shaky future to God for a fresh start?

His Changed Life is the second book in The New Beginnings series written by Joy Ohagwu. The Series is Christian fiction. For those who don’t normally read this type of fiction, you need to give these books a chance. The main theme of the series is that even those who claim to be “good people” can make some bad decisions that lead to life changing mistakes. In His Changed Life, Tanner, who was brought up by two parents in a God-fearing home, ends up in jail. When he is released from prison, he finds that his life is drastically changed. He is homeless, jobless, and depressed. However, God comes to the rescue. With the help of family, friends, and the local church, Tanner finds his way. I really like the books in this series, especially this one. It reminded me that there are always consequences to anything that I choose to do; but, I always have hope in Jesus. The story is easy to read and I could see myself in some of the characters. The sermons were very inspiring. I appreciate books that are inspirational, romantic, and clean. I look forward to the next book. Although I am one of the fortunate few who get to read Ms. Ohagwu’s books before release, I purchase her books so that I have them in my library.

A real page-turner--I couldn't put the book down! Tanner's release from jail wasn't the freedom he thought it would be, and the life he dreamed of returning to was no longer possible. Rebecca is living with fear and a feelings of condemnation from the life she battled to overcome. They both come into a place of healing that only God could bring about. I enjoyed reading about the love and support of family members and friends that helped Tanner to grow and take steps to overcome his past, even believing in a new beginning and a new future that was once unreachable. The transformation was exciting! I felt like I came to know the characters by Joy Ohagwu's descriptions. I also enjoyed the Christian perspectives given in a few of the "sermons". I highly recommend this book! Can't wait to read about Hunter's story in the next book in this series!

Joy Ohagwu continues the story of people we have come to know and love in other series. Tanner is a young man who chose to go his way and paid a heavy price for it. This book tells through story what happens when we surrender control of our life to the author of our life, Jesus Christ. We still may have to pay consequences, but God will give us the strength and courage we need. This book does end in a cliff hanger, so you will be eagerly left anticipating the next installment in the series. I love how Joy Ohagwu is able to weave the truths of God and Scripture throughout her stories. This story also helped me understand a little more about the challenges that the formerly incarcerated face when they are released. I received a complimentary copy of this story, but have freely chosen to share my own opinions and thoughts in this review.

I enjoyed this second book in a new series. Tanner Huddleston was just released from jail but the life that he had hoped was waiting for him is not there. He feels totally lost, angry and adrift in his life. Through the love and support of his family and their great example of trusting in God he battles his way back to being the good, honest man he was before he committed his crime.
As always there are some good life lessons that can be learned from the sermons.
This book was a gift to me.

I enjoyed this very uplifting and inspirational book. Although a work of fiction, it still has a lot of truth in it as the author liberally uses Scripture in her writings. Her characters feel "real" - some have made mistakes and messed up and others are good, solid Christians who are there to help those who have fallen. I really enjoyed the themes throughout this book. In addition to the strong Christian influence, the book is about love, loyalty, family ties, commitment and second chances - all things that we need in our lifes to be successful human beings!

Tanner Huddleston's life didn't go as he planned. Released from prison wasn't the freedom he dreamed of. Rebecca Singer isn't the same.

This book reminded me of Stephen's House. It's a program, run by my church, for those getting out of prison. A second chance or a new beginning transforms the worst criminals. They are not the only ones needing a new future. I loved how this book went through the process. It's painful. Yet, with Christ it can be done. I came to know the characters. I enjoyed the sermons. Great read.

Tanner faced with cops coming. People he trusted, wanted to tear him down. Rebecca kidnapped and now framed.for murder, if no one believed her, how could she prove what happened.
Another winner, that touches on how strong our faith has to be,letting God’s love and with him to guide us. Past circumstances and fear can be forgiven, to enjoy life, marriage and family. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

I loved this story all about yielding to GOD as He makes changes in Tanner's life even though the yielding is not easy. I love that it shows GOD can make changes in anyone. I love that it shows how GOD works through brokenness to free & cause His will & other centeredness in lives! I loved how no matter what the circumstance GOD works through the brokenness to cause healing for both Rebecca & Tanner!

What a beautiful story of God's love and redemption! Tanner spent 4 years in prison because he was caught helping his then girlfriend solve a problem. Upon release. he found everything had changed. His girlfriend had married someone else. his apartment complex wouldn't allow him to rent there again and he couldn't get a job because he was "a ex-con" Could, and more importantly, would God step in and help him turn his life around?

Tanner & Rebecca have a lot of spiritual growing to do in this story. I liked the spiritual emphasis about growing especially the statement "let God work on you. There is no one He cannot change. All God wants is your cooperation". We have to want to change, however. This book is also about how hard it is for an ex-con to get housing/a job in order to become useful to society & get a second chance. Tanner also gets a big surprise.

Another great story from Joy Ohagwu. This time we get to see Tanner walk out of darkness and find his true God given purpose, while seeing Becca drop her baggage of being sold to the highest bidder years ago to grab hold of the new life John and Liberty have to offer. If you need to be inspired, or rediscover your hope in Christ, I highly recommend "His Changed Life".

This is the second in the New Beginnings series and this title tells it all. A superbly written book showing how a young man cleaned up his act with the help of God and those God put in his path. Best of all, he had reached the place of knowing he truly needed God and what these people had to offer. Absolutely loved this book and I highly recommend it. A good spiritual read!

His Changed Life

This is the story of a young man who considers himself the black sheep of the family and winds up in prison. We take up his life as he is released and finds many of his expectations have fallen apart. How he picks up the broken pieces and moves on to a Better life is what we find out. Well worth the read and encouraging that he finds his way with God's help.

A wonderful story of love, redemption and God's Grace to each of us if we can really let go of self and ask God into our lives. This story of Tanner and his release from prison after serving a 4 year sentence shows the reader how there is always a way. A deeply moving story that does have a cliff hanger. I enjoy this author's ability to weave the Lord through the pages of her writing. That alone makes her an exceptional writer in my opinion. I would recommend her books to Christians, whether new, lifelong, or seeking.
