What would you do if a group of usurpers tried to murder your minion-wife and take away your kingdom? Would you destroy them, follow them home to their sovereign island, kill all the gods they worship, and then conquer their land? Yep. You would do that, and you’d laugh the entire time. The Master becomes even darker as his power increases.
I really like it and this one was definitely different and i loved every moment. Only problem is that I didn’t like that he switched the cats “hands”, through book 1-3, to paws. Wished he kept them the way they are. The jokes from the previous books were meant for the fox only but now both seem to have paws so what does that mean about the previous encounters with the cats so called hands. All in all i loved it.
Book 4 is my favourite so far in this story. It contains more detailed emotions from the characters than the previous books and expands on the Masters background, while still hiding his true name. This story is moving up my personal charts of favourites.
Overall this book helped us learn more about the world and the characters. The author kept me in suspense on the name of the MC. He hinted many times about his name and we learned more about the backstory on how he became a fallen God. The book was solid and continues to expand our knowledge of the characters and the story.
The battles of this book are more emotional them physical. They fight God's and win in the end, but this time the battle is to save a god that ends up dieing anyway. Very sad. The love the God has for his minions, whom he will do anything to protect, is last for all time and they love him too. Fun read, I couldn't put it down.
I've been bingeing this series since I started a week ago and can barely put these books down. I love the characters and the connections they share. The dungeons and the Gods within are always interesting to see, but this book had some extra elements that made it more emotional and breath-taking.
This story continues to be a fun read. There are a few typos here and there along the way. Overall, I really enjoy this series and can't wait for the next installment.
Once again this author has made another great work of art, I look forward to reading the next book in this series and recommend it to everyone who likes adventure and great characters.
These books are so good. They just grab you and pull you in. The world created in these books is described in such a way that you can almost see it. I highly recommend this book.
Rambling with Overpowered Main Character Book opens with a group of traitors in the new throne room. Master and Annalise fight them 2 on 20, in a long and detailed fight that starts with first eyeballs popping out of one victim then a rather gruesome ripping out of spinal cord and using it as a weapon by Master.
Underlying theme developing of family, children, and marriages.
The group is off to Tintagal to conquer the neighboring country, but along the way they’ll hit up a few dungeons. Crossing the river into the neighboring land, they plan to stop at the island of Machstein, which has two dungeons on it. They can visit Annalise’s brothers there as well.
Rana the fox woman, Morrigan the elf w/ raven companions and Carmedy the cat woman round out the group.
First dungeon, Carmedy tempted with unending food. Rana in a lake of treasure. Annalise stuck in an endless battle with tougher and tougher foes. Soon enough master kills the god of the dungeon and absorbs his power to make pocket dimensions. As usual the combat rings hollow since it’s been well-established that even if masters body is slain, he is not really dead. (One of the negative side effects of having a diety as a main character.)
Find they were camp of Annalise’s three brothers. Combats to rescue Rana and Morgan where Master gets to show off some of his godlike abilities. Master teaches Morrigan to animate dead.
Depart by ship to Machstein. On the ship they play cards, learn of the formation of the women’s adventure group and encounter the Rusalka.
On the island they find that everyone is extremely affectionate to each other, due to intervention by the local God. They encounter a book buyer who tells them the one of the local Gods-The Liebe-is messing with everyone’s emotions in a vane attempt to get the other God’s attention. Riding chickens.
The Liebe sends troops to attack Master at his home dungeon, demonstrating how Master can split his spirit and send it back to his home while leaving his avatars body behind. The Liebe Is easily defeated since master can just make whatever he wants out of thin air.
They go to the town where the other God is on the island, the Tichidama. The town is preparing for a festival gathering sacrifices to throw down a cave to where she is believed to live. The sacrifices are grizzly and include human beings. The team discovers that Dama is actually good and wishes the sacrifices to end and is even willing to sacrifice herself in return for them killing the leader in the town responsible. Dama has weird soul magic to move souls from dead creatures to other living creatures.
Tuzakeur makes a brief appearance as the puppet master behind Akuro the local politician proliferating slaughter sacrifices. Big battle with him and Tichidama, both die. Rana gets Tichidama’s magic sword/orb that helps “find what you are seeking”. Master gets the signet ring putting him in charge of the island.
