American Queen by Sierra Simone 5 stars.

*picks mouth up off floor*

I read this book a few days ago and I am still at a loss for words. I was told I needed to read this by a fellow reader and I am so glad I did. I could not put it down!!

I loved everything about this book from the plot to the characters created. The chemistry was off the charts!!! This book was filled with so many feels and will have your toes curling and your panties wet. Sierra Simone does not hold anything back with this story.

I will be impatiently waiting for the next book!!!

Pennies by Pepper Winters.

I give this book 3.75 stars.......

This was a very dark read with some very disturbing material. Which I knew it would be because that's what Pepper writes and does it well. I would have given it a higher rating but I felt like things were repeated a little to much which made it seem drawn out.

I loved the plot and the characters created. I did buy the second book as well and I'm looking forward to see how that one goes. It is very scary that this does really happen and some people are actually living this life. It needs to be stopped!!!!

I will add my other reviews as I read.

This review is for American Queen which is included in the collection. American Queen is a great beginning to the trilogy! It is is a fantastic introduction to Greer's, Embry's, and Maxen's story. This book is told from Greer's POV and tells the story of how she met Maxen and Embry, then later reconnected with them. The storyline is one that I've never read before and Sierra's writing is fantastic. I loved this book! The trilogy is complete and it is one of the sexiest, powerful, emotional, and heartbreaking (at times) series that I've read. I highly recommend American Queen and the rest of the New Camelot Series to anyone looking for an epic MMF/MFM romance.

Honestly as a whole I have to rate this book as 3 stars. Some stories I really enjoyed and even found a new couple of favorite authors, while other books I just did not like at all. I got this for free on amazon and I am glad I did. I thought these stories would all be modern fairy tales, but some of these stories were actually pretty dark. The great part of a compilation of short stories is there were books in here that I never would have read if they would not have been in this and it help broaden my reading abilities.

Modern Fairy Tale

Kissing Jenna by Kristen Proby
3.5 🌟🌟🌟
This was a sweet book, though slightly predictable, still had the must haves, the one you hate, the one you love and the one you wish was you.

AMERICAN QUEEN by Sierra Simone
5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book was hot af!! As soon as I started reading that it was political I groaned and considered skipping it but I am SOOO glad I didn’t. Definitely need to look into the rest of this series because that was great. The only thing is the dang CH!!

HOLD YOU AGAINST ME by Skye Warren
Prequel Tough Love 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I can’t believe I am giving a novella, a prequel even, 5 stars, but it deserves it. Drama, sin, mystery, romance, all combined with a mafia family story to boot! Kept me wanting more and I’m uber glad I’ve got the next book to dive in to!

Hold you against me 🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was really excited for this after reading the prequel and while it was great it didn’t fully hit the mark for me. I wish there has been a lot more back story on how they got from then to now. It made me stop to many times n think how, why etc.

CHEEKY ROYAL by Nana Malone 🌟🌟🌟🌟First time read for me by this author and I have mixed feelings. It was a good story where at times it felt too drawn out but at other times wanting more. I don’t really know how to explain it. I’m definitely interested in continuing the story as it felt like it ended so abruptly. I need to know more.

UNCONDITIONAL by Lexi Blake
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Not your typical dom/sub book. I throughly enjoyed it and was sad it came to an abrupt end.

SLOW BURN by J.H. Croix
3🌟🌟🌟 this one was a little harder for me to stay interested in. I’ve read so many similar to near exact that it was hard to stay connected

merciless by willow winters
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Dang it why didn’t I write the review right after I finished it. Oh cuz it was like almost 1am and I needed to work the next day. I remember I liked it, was not happy with the cliff hanger, I wanted more and that I freaking loved Carter.

TO SEE YOU Rachel Blaufeld
🌟🌟🌟🌟
A sweet sappy romantic meet cute. Gives you all the feels and hopes that you will get that too.

THE PRINCE Jillian Dodd 3.5 🌟🌟🌟🌟
“The measure of love is to love without measuring,”
I love this line! I’m glad I got to it. When I first started this one, I though oh no this is going to be totally cheesy, but dang it got good!

JUST DESSERTS by Marquita Valentine
3.5🌟🌟🌟🌟
Had a hard time staying connected to this one. I don’t know if it is because it’s book four of a series in this anthology or what but wishing I’d of read the offer ones first.

PENNIES by Pepper Winters
5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Haunting, Twisted and Depraved indifference to human life is a great way to describe the main characters and their actions. This book is a slow burn but well worth it!

A YUMMY SMORGASBORD OF SEXY, MODERN LOVE IN ALL SHAPES AND SIZES **5 BIG, BIG stars**

WHO DOESN'T LOVE FAIRY TALES?! ... and this fantastic anthology of 12 modern romances by some best-selling authors is simply irresistible, and includes a smorgasbord of alluring and challenging tales of love from all angles.

I've read several of the books (all are terrific, which I already own), but this review will focus on a real sleeper hit -- TO SEE YOU by Rachel Blaufeld about the superficiality of beauty and love. Is beauty only skin-deep? Can you only love someone who has the right appearance? Such are the questions at stake for urban professional Charli from NYC and laid-back film editor LAYTON from LA. Both are seated together on a cross-country flight where much is revealed about both in conversation. Charli recognizes the superficial snob she has become, judging people on surface looks and shallow first impressions. Layton, on the other hand, is a genuine, down-to-earth guy with no guile. He's open, confident, charismatic, funny and easy to talk to, plus being handsome -- but is all that enough? Problem is (for Charli), he's overweight, slightly sweaty, and doesn't fit her ideal image of the right kind of guy. She likes him, but is ashamed to be seen with him. The story evolves from their accidental friendship and Charli trying unsuccessfully to overcome her rigid criteria over the course of a long-distance friendship. I loved the growth of both characters and the depth of the evolving relationship. At first it's hard for Charli to really "see" Layton and appreciate him fully for who is, but dealing with and letting go of her longheld beliefs is hard to do. And what happens if she pushes him away once too often, and he moves on while she's still trying to figure him out? There are ups and downs, and ironic twists and turns to the relationship as the outcome heads down an alternating cloudy and sunny path. So many times I saw myself, others I've known, and past relationships in the dynamics of this couple. This was an eye-opening story that will make you question your own superficiality and what really matters in life and love and acceptance.

There are so many gems in this anthology, that it's a no-brainer to download it. The price of the books individually make the anthology worth its weight in gold. Don't miss out on this one!

Final story spoils the book

Initially, I really enjoyed the book and was preparing to give it 5 stars. Most of the stories, with the exception of the final one, were really well written, with good plot lines and likeable characters. However the final story spoiled the entire book. This story about human trafficking , consisted of graphic descriptions of beating, diary entries and flash backs, held together by a very weak storyline. The violence did not need to be as graphic for a book in this genre .The amount of gratuitous violence clouds the storyline and makes the book seem very disjointed. It makes the story go off at a tangent and its hard to keep picking back up the plot and keep track of where the story is going. The final scenes culminate in a very graphic description of a young woman being strung up and her tongue cut out. Very gory and completely unneccessary This story was more appropriate for the horror /thriller genre and should not have been included in this compilation, especially without a warning to the reader. A real shame since several of the other stories were exceptional. I would recommend avoiding the final story in this book unless you are a fan of the SAW type movies.

My review of this anthology will be from Skye Warren's book "Hold You Against Me." If yáll have read any of her series Stripped, then you'll be familiar with Mia, the daughter of a Mob Boss, and Gio, the son of of the Mob Boss' second in command. This has been a long awaited story with more trials, tribulation, twists and turns than you can imagine as a reader. This dark read will take you places that make your breath stop in your lungs, rush out unexpectedly, and have your heart racing the entire time. These are the two characters of the story I've loved best; waiting for their full story. If the caliber of author talent is even close to what I've experienced with this book, then there are literally hours, if not day, of total bliss within these pages. There is no other choice than a 5* rating for this.

12 books are contained in this bundle and embrace many different styles of romance and more. Several of the authors I am familiar with and many more are new-to-me authors. Several of the books contain cliffhangers (and I have reminders to follow up) while others are complete stories or are a part of a series (more reminders to follow up). Some of the books fit into a steamy romance and several deal with light BDSM and at least one menage. One involves a female version of James Bond and another of human trafficking/slaves. Each book is unique and takes you in so many different directions. Oh, my.

Not what I expected

I grabbed this book because it had a story by one of my favorite authors, Denise Grover Swank, in it. I expected the rest of the stories to be in a similar vein. My rating was primarily for editing issues, not writing, as the stories that I was able to read were decently written, but, and this is a big BUT, this was not at all what I expected.

There is explicit sex (okay, that's expected), but one story was more erotica than romance (my opinion), and one story wasn't romantic at all, but about sex trafficking, which is a current and necessary topic for discussion, but I failed to find any romance in it at all.

What a roller coaster!

Wow! 12 books! It’s hard to write a review to each one of them here, but I did that in my goodreads account. So what I will say about this collection is that I really enjoyed it. There were some books that were firsts in a series and I loved so much that I bought the next ones. Others were stand-alones and were just fine but there were also a couple that I didn’t bother buying the next ones simply because I didn’t like it enough for that. That’s why I believe this collection provides us with a roller coaster of emotions. Some books are really hot, others are just cute and sweet but overall it is a great read for romance lovers such as myself.

Amazing book box set

I've read two authors in this collection before and loved reading new authors, along with reading their books.
Extremely well written books that will leaving wanting to read more, more.
The authors should put a warning on the book: 'Precede with caution' as our books will cause you to stay up way past your bedtime and not able to put your kindle down at all!!!!

Box sets by different authors is a great way to try authors you may not have read before. Of the 12 books, I was familiar with 2 of the authors and already had 1 of the books. That left 11 books. I finished 9 of the 11 books and enjoyed most of them. One was started and not finished and one was skipped. I've already picked up the next book in the series for 2 of the books in this box set.

I did buy this because, there was a chance I'd like some of the other authors since one name was familiar to me going in. Lexi Blake. and the good news is I did find several other authors to try and am now working through some of their books. I also had a few that I read partially and skipped to the next book in the line up.

Some of these were great stories. I actually stopped reading because a few of them were not stand alone. I was not expecting to get in the middle of a story and find out I had to get another book to finish. This was very disappointing. Had I know I would have skipped that particular story. That aside most of the stories I did read were good.

Overall, this book was a 3*. It lost a star due to two of the stories being dubious/non consent. "Hero" in both kidnap, torture, and more...and "heroine" falls in love with their dark brooding love. Nope. Both stories were DNF for me...

It's alright

Some I really enjoyed and finished no issue. Others, I started to read and then either skimmed through them or just did not finish. I don't know if all of these stories are for everyone. It's a strange mix to me.

Great group of different stories. A wonderful intro to many authors. The only thing I didn't like were the books that ended with an obvious sequel in mind. Now I have to go back through to see what they were.

Free book not worth the price

Several stories were only part one so they stopped with out an end. Two stories were really good by swank and croix. Lexie Blake's story was one I read before. Don't buy this book not worth it 3 good stories out of 12
