The whole series was fun to read. But I am still not able to understand how she got pregnant!! I was expecting her to end up with Lowell but that did not happen. Sometimes this manga was silly but not in a bad way though. I love the beautiful artwork here and the story despite having several loopholes is still very mesmerizing.

Fuck this series all to hell.

Georgie has to be one of the single most egregious examples of how not to write a good story, or at the very least, end one. This series was riddled with problems from the very beginning, but I had fun with the interesting premise and the silly drama, then Man Izawa decided to screw everythingup. Literally no one got a truly happy ending, and the characters couldn't even have a real romance with actual development.

Just before reading this series, I read the classic Rose of Versailles, and considering that they share some similarities, my brain naturally wants to compare them. They both are tragedies set in a historical setting, mostly in Europe, feature a blonde protagonist who sometimes dresses as a male. However, RoV actually develops it's characters, plot, and relationships. So when something happens it makes sense and feels justified. Georgie has none of these qualities. The author just picked random stuff from a hat and slapped it together without a thought as to if it would work or make any sense. Why is so much time spent on Georgie and Lowell's love story only for it to go nowhere? Why does Georgie randomly fall in love with Abel? Why is a 14 year old pregnant? Why is Arthur suddenly a prisoner that is being force fed drugs? Why did he never confess is love properly to Georgie? Why did Abel stay back in Arthur's place? Why does Elise, who elicited a lot of the issues, get a happy ending? Why does Lowell randomly fall in love with Elise? Why doesn't he try to track down his "one true love that he'll die for"? Nothing makes any sense, and I'm pissed off.

The only saving grace is the absolutely gorgeous art done by Yumiko Igarashi. She has such an amazing eye for detail, with stunning backgrounds.

I read the manga but had to read it twice one time wouldn´t do it justice, after my second read I get the slow burn between Georgie Abel and Arthur .They were always protective and adored her since they were children Abels love was more passionate and Arthurs was more selfless natured. Neither was depicted better or less than the other just different.

Lowell was set up to fail from the get go as their way of living was just too different. She grew up as a free girl who was content with simple pleasures. He was used to the "finer things“ and coped
not to well in the world of regular people.Altough the love was there at the end it just wasn‘t enough the difference in social classes and his illness was for both a burden they just couldn´t carry.

I loved the storytelling and despite Abels death which broke my heart.I'm glad that Georgie fell for him eventually.Arthur has a special place in my heart as well, but Abel nearly destroyed me the yearning for her troughout the manga I felt it in my soul.I appreciate that she got to love both brothers at the end.

Thank you Igarashi and Izawa for this gem of a story.
