Divine Descendants #2

Exposing Magic

Rate this book
Even angels have to answer for their sins.

I’m Cora Marek, and I’ve royally screwed up. I failed my semester final and exposed the angels and demons to the human world. Luckily, the Alliance is giving me a chance to fix things. If I go on record stating it was all a hoax, I’ll be free to return to Harris Academy.

But I’m not sure I’ve made the right choice. War is mounting outside the academy. The humans are afraid of us, and they want to take us down.

If only we could show them they don’t have to be afraid. But Kellan—my partner and the guy I’m hopelessly pining for—insists exposing ourselves is a mistake.

My heart’s being pulled in two different directions. But I know I have to do what’s right—even if our world goes up in flames.

Things from the first book get mostly cleared up almost immediately after the book starts. With the exception of an angry Alliance and the conspiracy theory people who want to see them all burn. So, what happens when the two come together? I'll admit this book was a lot more entertaining than the last one. It was not great, or even an extra star worthy, it did not make me want to DNF the book like book one did, however.

Last book of the Devine Descendants series and it finished the series well. I highly recommend reading these books starting with Touched by Grace.

I'm not enjoying how she practically pesters her friends about exposing her people. I think she should do things differently.

This second book started seamlessly from the end of book.1. Concealing Magic as it picks up in the hospital with Kellan & Cora straight after the fire. Then hold onto your hats as you are taken through a none stop turmoil of emotions as Secrets and Lies are building, emotions are high and Cora’s beliefs are being challenged. Then Alicia Rades steps it up with violence against the Davina & Aedes as exposing them is the main purpose of the Infantry Colt has managed to grow around him, until things turn Sinister, lives are lost & his true hatred surfaces. Cora & Her friends wanting to help the academy become targets. Exposing Magic gave me everything I enjoy in a book and more as Alica Rades included happiness, deceit, jealousy, friendship, betrayal, love, hatred, espionage with a heavy dose of magic. Be prepared to be hooked from the beginning and the shocking conclusion is a bombshell !! Harris Academy & it’s characters will never be the same again. Alicia Rades continues to amaze me with her imagination & creative writing, as it excels every time. Thank you for including me in your stories as their emotions become mine and my reality slips away as I was once again excited to join your worlds & storylines

The second in the series, Exposing Magic is an enjoyable addition to Cora's story.

It can be read alone, but as characters are in it whose actions and decisions in the first book impact this one, it's best to be read in sequence. Now in her second semester at Harris Academy, Cora has some decisions to make that won't just affect her, but all those around her as well.

Will she make the right one? Read this book and find out!

Author Rades does a nice job bringing Cora, Kellen, and other characters to life. The dialogue fits well with the characters. their ages, and the story's plotline. The settings and descriptions are well-written as well, and the story moves at a good pace.

I enjoyed reading this book.

I was given an ARC of the book and have chosen to review it.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

Finally I got time to finish this series and honestly I feel blessed. It’s my second favorite from the other after the crystal frost series. Beautifully written and finally a plot different to all the cliches in the market. I really enjoy reading this book, with an epilogue made me feel sad and happy at the same time. The way they did put an end to the infantry and making the alliance to finally bring the supernatural and humans together was impressive. Although some friends were lost but still it was a good read to see characters mature and fight together till the end. An amazing end to an awesome series. I really enjoyed reading it.

An amazing, T&YA paranormal & urban fantasy. Cora and Kellam, even though they failed their finals, were invited back to Harris Academy. The Infantry, an anti-divina group, is on the warpath. The academy will need all its resources to survive the upcoming battle.

This exciting story is filled with kidnapping, injury, and death. It also includes compassion, sacrifice, and love. While, overall, the tale is tragic, the end is sweet.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

Now that Cora has exposed herself, she’s required to go public to say it’s a hoax. The big question is will people believe her? She feels maybe it’s better if the humans do know about them but then there’s people like Colt, a guy who’s hell bent on killing all supernaturals. A war is coming and not everyone will make it out alive. But is coming out the best decision?

It was great to read how the two main characters approach each other in the second book. I wish I could have seen them getting closer to each other than that, but I enjoyed reading about their journey. I can't wait to read the next book.
