Wanted to try another book after not really being satisfied with Exam Red MD-101 Managing Modern Desktops by Microsoft Press. Panek's writing style is much more personal than Bethany's and he includes real-life examples when he's explaining new concepts - I like that! Unfortunately, it's not enough to make this edition click with me.

Many times he will just copy & paste information from Microsoft Docs website (which is a must-read if you are going for this certification).

Another thing I didn't get was this odd mixture of advanced and basic system administration topics. In one chapter he will explain advanced configurations on very few pages and then spend an entire section explaining how the MMC console works. I'd expect people to know how it works when they go for this certification exam.

Take note that this book alone will not help you pass any exam, if anything then it can work as a summary of topics that you need to deep dive into by going to learn.microsoft.com, lab it yourself, or by consuming other materials online.

Also, make sure to check the date of the latest release. If it's too far back it will very likely no longer be up to date as Microsoft changes things in Intune and Endpoint Manager all the time.
