Lent is a season of shadows. Throughout this holy season we wrestle with the very real shadows of death, doubt, fear, sadness, guilt and shame. But in these powerful daily devotions for Lent, Chad Bird helps us to discover anew the definitive truth that Christ through his cross lifts us out of those shadows into his glorious light of hope, freedom, joy, forgiveness and new life.

Still looking for something to give up for Lent?? I have two suggestions: 1) give up two minutes to find and obtain this small devotional book "In the Shadow of the Cross: Devotions for Lent" by Chad Bird for your smart phone, E-reader, or computer; and 2) give up one minutes daily to read the daily devotion twice! Yeah, they are brief! Read it twice! But they are profound and amazingly insightful for you to meditate upon the rest of the day! So far.... (!) I will say this is the BEST and most profound Lenten devotion I have ever encountered, ...er, been blessed by!! Do your soul a favor: obtain a copy and reflect on these great devotions that bring the Light of Jesus to our shadow-filled lives!!
Written for every person observing Lent. Common understanding of the miracle of Easter, uplifting and instructional, wrapped up in short concise lessons. Highly recommend.
