Will She Cast A Forgetting Spell To Get Rid Of Him And His Money Or Open Her Heart To True Love And Happiness.New York City’s most eligible billionaire, Eric Camden never met a problem he couldn't solve or a woman who could resist him, and his sights are set on Samantha Parker. Samantha, New York City’s up and coming singer-songwriter and medium to the stars, is used to handsome rich men vying for her attention, and she’s not impressed. Can Eric convince her to give him a chance?Or, will, she cast a spell to forget him once and for all?
I picked this book up when it was free, intrigued by the premise of a billionaire romance with a bit of magic tossed in. Sadly, the book didn't quite live up to expectation.
I like the general story concept, just wish the execution had been better. There are numerous grammar issues, primarily with a lack of punctuation or quotes at the end of dialog, but there was also a present tense bit in the middle of a past tense paragraph. Fortunately, the errors didn't make the story hard to read and I was able to ignore most of them.
However, the story wasn't as good as I'd hoped for either. The H was perfect and nice (too perfect, with no character flaws to overcome to win the romance). The h made instant snap judgements about things the H did in passing that felt unrealistic and overblown for having not even interacted with him beyond a very brief conversation. There was no build up of romance unless you count ruminating in their minds about the other. There was no severe incident to separate them after they'd come together that they'd have to eventually overcome for the deserved HEA. Also, the conversations felt overly wordy for the purpose of informing the reader rather than something two people would say to one another. I felt bad for the guy when he didn't want to say anything for fear of triggering a rash, judgemental reaction.
In general, it was a shorter story than I'd like and didn't go deep into either character. They had either her snap judging him and storming off or them in their own corners mulling over things. I didn't feel any chemistry or romance other than what the plot forced upon them via instant connection. I don't mind instant connection stories, but I'd like some struggle in their day to day interactions as they build towards the love at the end. This is the author's first book, so hopefully she improves because I do like the ideas she has and hope to enjoy one of her stories in the future.
ONE DELIGHTFUL ADVENTURE!!! OMG! Talk about one hot number! A whirlwind of emotions and events that pulls those heartstrings and takes you deeper than you thought you could go. One exciting, fast paced, hard hitting, pulse racing, heart pounding, page turning dynamo brings this little gem together beautifully. One fantastic, engaging, mesmerizing, enthralling wonder that grabs your attention and holds it from start to finish. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches and bumps here and there make for one incredible experience. The strong connection and bond along with instant chemistry and feelings that form between the main characters are intense, palpable and smooth flowing. All the drama, uncertainty and doubt increases while tension spirals. An intense storyline and strong plot bring this bad boy front and center. The characters are complex and believable. The scenes are written with such realism it really brings this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. Valerie's insight, imagination and creativity really shines through. She weaves a world around you so thoroughly until everything else ceases to exist. Remarkable job Valerie, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
Samantha has been burned one too many time by rich jerks. So when billionaire Eric shows up and asks her out on a date, she lashes out and stomps out of the room. Unfortunately, fate has something else in mind, and Eric is constantly somewhere, either on her mind or physically present… The story is written in a compelling way, though it would profit from a thorough proofreading. There are too many grammar and punctuation mistakes to make this reading experience enjoyable. However, the characters are interesting and sweet, even though they had quite a rocky start. This story shows that when you meet your soul mate, thankfully no matter how badly you behave towards him, the pull and attraction will be so strong that you will have a second chance at making it right ☺.
Ok, I’ve long had a weakness for romances involving billionaires (I’m still waiting for my sweetie to tell me he’s a secret billionaire .. but it’s bern decades already so I’m starting to fear it won’t happen), and I love paranormal stories, especially when they’re romance. But I do have my standards! They’ve got to be well done. So along comes Valerie Moon with her The Billionaire's Enchantress, and boom (!) I’m completely captured as this is wonderfully written and totally fun. I’m happy to recommend it.
A magical romance in the midst of big business, cutthroat riches and the birth of a gifted music career. If that isn't seductive enough, the male and female lead characters have apparently been searching for true love, even though they have come to question its possibility. This is a sweet irresistible clean love story with a welcome....No! Wouldn't want to spoil it for YOU !
Fun, Clean, Slightly Paranormal Romance This sweet and clean romance has just a touch of paranormal to it. This is a fun, novella-length romance between a witch and a billionaire. This is so cute, I wish that this author would write an entire series. I received this book for free and this is my honest review.
If you like your stories all "tell" and no "show," then you'll enjoy this. Clean editing without misspelled words give this book an extra star for technical competence. However, even good proofreading can't save this book from lackluster prose.
The idea was there and it was a decent concept, but maybe not for a novella. It felt like the story was missing large elements because everything needed to be condensed for this format. For instance, some of the conversations revealed too much too fast in the feelings department and came off as slightly awkward and unnatural. It reads like a story from a very inexperienced author. Which is actually good because it can only improve from here. I'd be interested in reading more from this author after she has spent more time on her craft and is benefiting from a good editor.
