She had a strict upbringing. He was in a motorcycle club. It wasn’t enough to keep them apart.
Dex Mitchell was the heir to a billionaire manufacturing empire, but to step up to his rightful place in the business, he would have to embrace a relationship with the father who abandoned him…and that would never happen.
Brought up in an ultra-conservative home, Tirzah Olsson lived a sheltered life. Her parents had one goal: marry her off to a respectable man from their church, but Tirzah longed for real love and the freedom to make her own decisions.
When her soon-to-be-fiancé left her in a perilous situation, Dex Michell rode up on a Harley like a fierce hero, saving her from a near-assault. Once she climbed on the back of his bike, everything shifted for both of them.
Neither of them knew how to resist the pull they felt, but they were from two different worlds. It would never work.
Or so they said…
Good thing Dex, wasn’t a stranger to taking risks…
Evangeline Kelly is the pen name I use to write contemporary Christian romance books. When I was a kid, I had two dreams. One was to work with at risk youth and the other was to write books. After pursuing my passion of working with foster children for over twenty years, I finally decided to pursue my childhood dream of writing.
I love a good book that draws you in and takes hold of your heart. When I write, I hope to show real life situations people go through and how God uses those situations to draw us closer to Himself.
I’ve witnessed suffering in my line of work, but I’ve also witnessed God’s redeeming love. A good Christian romance features both hardship and delight. My hope is that my stories not only entertain, but encourage, and most of all, that they bring glory and honor to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Clean romance; some violence; Christian faith elements More of a 2.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up. The overall story was fine, a bit dramatic, but the characterizations were a bit stiff and stilted.
Motorcycle Romances hold a soft spot in my reading profile, and finding one that mixes a Christian message into it is an amazing find! I loved finding this, and loved that it made up for the previous book in the series in a big way!
I loved the total opposites attract nature of Tirzah and Dex's relationship! I absolutely hated Tirzah's parents, as well as Peter, and started viewing Dex as a Knight in Tarnished Armor type, a trope that I also adore! I hated the situation with Dex's father, but I could see why it was included in the story. This story was one of those that got me right in the feels and didn't let go!
Cute quick read! Tirzah was extremely sheltered and somewhat like some Christians I know. Her family was involved in a congregation that almost made up more rules to seem more devout and holy or something! Dex is totally swoon-worthy. He's tall, dark, and handsome. He has a past, who doesn't? Tizzy has to come out of her shell and see people as Yeshua sees them in order for her own healing to happen. Dex is there every step of the way to help keep her from judging people and showing her the difference from Philly to L.A. It was the struggle of a sheltered girl and her controlling family breaking out and realizing her own choices with a handsome biker along for the ride! Sweet read.
You may be looking at this title and thinking what in the world is this about? Well, don't let the title make you think this is all fluff. I mean it was a sweet romance and all. But, this book had a really good message too. In fact, there may be a lot of people who are burdened with legalism and rules. I think this was a message that could help people see the trap that legalism can be. I enjoyed the characters and I would love to see a romance for the grandpa in a future book.
I enjoyed the book and it was an easy read.
*I was given a copy by the author. This is my honest opinion.
I just finished reading a Tizzy and Dexter’s love story . First I want to say that the author handled some difficult topics with great respect. The topics in the book show a real side to people’s lives . We are not all cut from the same cloth but God loves us anyway . We are not shaped by religion but our love for our creator . He knew we were all flawed and he loves us anyway . Does not matter if you wear Sunday’s best or jeans it is what is in your heart ❤️ that counts . Take off the rose colored glasses and love one another the way the Bible tells us to do so . Tizzy is from a strict upbringing and Dexter was raised by a single mother . Both are broken in their own ways . Both looking for answers . Tizzy wants freedom to think and worship god they way she wants to without strict rules but still wants to keep her Christian values . Dexter wants to live for God and heal the broken heart of a little boy inside . Who deep down wants the love and acceptance of his father. God knew both of them needed each other . Circumstances brought them together at first as friends and so much more . The book has clean romance , some drama , and redemption. Forgiveness and eye opening situations . It’s a beautiful love story with so much more . Open my eyes to my heart lord , I want to see you . I give the book five stars ⭐️
Billionaire Biker explores the difference between "proper" Christians who have strict rules beyond Biblical standards and freewheeling (literally!) bikers who reach the city of Los Angeles for Christ. The former are, perhaps, reminiscent of the Pharisees Jesus condemned, and the latter are patterned after Jesus, "a wine-bibber and a button who eats with 'sinners'"according to the religious leaders of the day. Tirza's parents fall into the Pharasaic category.
The church Tirza's parents attend claims to teach the Bible but lays heavy emphasis on a book by an author who advocates for arranged marriages between young people in the same church, preferably before age twenty. Tirza is arranged with Peter, and despite the fact that they don't love or even like each other, they're sent to dinner with the assumption that he will propose and she will accept. No other outcome is expected or acceptable.
They encounter a labor dispute demonstration and a fight between protesters and police. Peter bolts and leaves his prospective fiancee at the mercy of the street thugs... but then a motorcyclist comes to her rescue.
Dex (Dexter) Mitchell is the illegitimate and unacknowledged son of the owner of the company the protesters are complaining doesn't pay a living wage. He goes to Philadelphia to see his father but finds a 19-year-old girl in distress.
Tirza's father had gambled to save money for her wedding but lost $30,000 to a loan shark. When his messenger threatens to harm Tirza unless the debt is paid in full with interest, her parents panic and send her to California to live with her mom's biological father, who lives just outside L.A. with his "family", a Christian bikee club that does street outreach, prison ministry, Toys for Tots and other good deeds in the name of Jesus Christ. Disgusted by the way her parents are still pushing Peter on her, Tirza nestles into the biker club and finds a place among them.
One of the club members is...Dex. They both felt a connection when he rescued her three years earlier, and they haven't forgotten it. But her parents call her every day to urge her to come home, and they mention a new man who is willing to overlook her " rebellion " and be matched with her. Two problems: she's not interested in returning, and she's falling for Dex.
Tirza's biological grandfather, whose biker.nickname is Tank but whom Tirza calls Grandpa with his permission, talks to her seriously about legalism and its hold on people who think they are living good lives but are putting themselves and others in a straitjacket. He points to Bible verses that underscore his viewpoint, and Tirza finds it attractive. She's still feeling compelled to stay with her upbringing, but she's starting to loosen up, the first step being to buy a pair of jeans that will fit better over a motorcycle than her previously required long skirts and dresses.
When her mother has a health crisis, Tirza rushes back to Philadelphia and finds herself trapped in her family's and church's rules. After a month of staying there, she has had enough and flies back to L.A. There's a reunion with her Grandpa and Dex, and nine months later a wedding.
Where is the "billionaire blind date disaster" in this story? Well, there really isn't a blind date because they've met before, but for their first "date" Dex takes Tirza (whom he's nicknamed "Tizzy") to a biker bar, where she doesn't fit in at all and is hit on by a biker who's definitely not a club member and hasn't agreed to watch out for her like the others. Dex regrets that choice and apologized profusely.
The" billionaire " aspect comes from the fact that Dex's father apologizes for his neglect of his son and offers to make him part of his company, which gives Dex a net worth of a billion dollars.
The cherry on top of the story is that Carl, aka Tank, aka Grandpa, flies out to Philadelphia and brings Tizzy's parents to her wedding. Totally surprising, since they disowned her upon her departure to California. But Grandpa sums it up with the following quote: "Reconciliation.. it's not easy. It tears down your pride and does you who you really are inside. But in three send, it's the sweetest gift you could ever hope for."
This story isn't a five-star read because I found myself wondering, for most of the book, how it got into a series where it didn't seem to belong. And the reconciliation between Dex and his father happened too quickly to be believable, which made his escalation to billionaire status a bit difficult to buy. But as a standalone novel, it's a fascinating read and made me think. If you want your complacency challenged within the context of a romance, this is the book for you!
Starting out our main characters seems to be opposites - so much so there would be no middle ground.
Tirzah Olsson was raised in an ultra-conservative community. Her family, friends, their church was all ultra-conservative. She is very sheltered and was raised to obey her parents, and she almost always did so. Well, actually, she always did. Even though she really, really did not want to marry Peter she was going to do it. He was also following his parents’ dictates.
Dex Mitchell could not be thought of as conservative. He was raised by a single (but loving) mother, was in a motorcycle club, and wanted nothing to do with his father who had a manufacturing empire worth billions.
But there was a fundamental principle they both held dear; their belief in God.
Tirzah reluctantly went on a dinner date with Peter knowing that he was going to propose. He insisted they go to the restaurant where he made reservations even though they would have to walk past belligerent picketers. There was serious trouble between the police and protesters. Tirzah turned to comment to Peter only to see him running back the way they came. Abandoned Tirzah is accosted. Dex had ridden up to the plant and notices Tirzah being dragged down the street. He saves her. Peter shows back up and she reluctantly calls him boyfriend but Peter corrects her with “Fiancé”.
Three years later Tirzah is twenty-one now and not married to Peter – one little act of rebellion. Because of stupidity on her father’s part Tirzah is in danger and is sent to her grandfather – the one she did not know about. Carl.
Carl’s, aka Tank, MC club founded Riders for Christ to reach out to those who would never enter a church but just might talk a fellow biker. Dex was a member of Riders for Christ. When Dex sees Tirzah his mind goes back three years.
Carl explains why Tirzah is there and has Dex look after her to keep her safe.
Although Tirzah has feelings for Dex she feels they have nothing in common, are too different and fights her feelings. They spend a lot of time together and Dex shows her things that the MC does to bring God to others. He shows her that just because someone is different or someone is having a difficult time they are still important to God. I believe there are lessons to learn in this part that there are those who profess to be Christians while at the same time they look down on others.
The story is a good read, moves quickly, has moments of surprise, and HEA.
Why does Tirzah’s mother not want to send her to her grandfather? What was the nickname the other MC members called Dex? How did meeting Tirzah the first time affect Dex?
I received a complimentary copy and I am providing an honest review.
Biker Dex wasn't looking for someone to love, but when Tirzah walks into his life, well, all his good intentions at keeping his distance goes out the window.
Tirzah was raised in a very strict religious community. Her parents picked out the man who was to be her husband, and he was not a nice person - but her mom and dad refused to see that. Tirzah refused to marry him. When her life is threatened because of her father's past sin she is sent to her grandfather, someone she had never heard of before. Her grandfather is the leader of a Christian biker club, and Dex is part of that club family. (Oh, Dex came to her rescue a couple of years before she meets him again at her grandfather's).
Tirzah is learning a lot of things about what being a Christian really means. I think I struggled with a couple of the things that came up, but one of the things that I wasn't really in agreement with was when they went to Grandpa's church. They told Tirzah she was overdressed. For her, dressing nicely was showing respect for the Lord - and I agree with her. You are going to meet with the King of kings and Lord of lords - respect and honor Him by dressing nicely. [You don't go on a date with your girl/guy wearing grungy stuff!] If your best is jeans and a t-shirt, then that's fine - God understands, but if you dress that way because it's most comfortable for you, then you aren't giving the Lord your best and you aren't showing Him the respect and honor that is due Him. Just my two cents on that part of the story.
This book was a unique twist in the billionaire romance genre. Not only did it have an interesting plot but a great message about faith, stereotypes and overcoming personal issues.
Tirzah comes from an ultra-conservative upbringing where marriages are arranged and parents are to be obeyed. Her life is thrown into a tizzy (which becomes her nickname in our story) when through unexpected circumstances she is sent to live with a previously unknown grandfather who just happens to be the leader of a biker club. There her faith clashes with her grandfather Carl’s beliefs which shower people with grace, acceptance and love. Through him she meets Dex who shatters her stereotypes and helps introduce her to a God who is not a tyrant. What about all the rules? Can she really have more than the expectations she’s had since childhood?
Dex was rejected by his billionaire father and always saw himself as a failure. Through Carl’s club, now his family, he’s found what was missing. He no longer seeks escape through drugs or other means. He now has a mission—to reach out to the lost and hurting, yet the wound left by his dad has never healed. Can he forgive his father? As he wrestles with his dad’s effort to reconcile he meets Carl’s granddaughter, a woman he saved three years earlier from a riot and never forgot. His life just got a lot more interesting.
Can Dex and Tirzah move beyond their obvious differences and find the real love they both need? Will her parents and his past get in the way?
This was an excellent book that pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let go until the end. Tirzah comes from a very conservative home and church. She has to make decisions about what she believes in and how she will live her life. In the midst of figuring things out, she was told that her life is in danger and she will need to live with her biological grandfather. She finds a new life and freedom that she has never known. She must make a choice about how she wants to live. Tirzah must also figure out how to continue to honor her parents without bowing to their wishes. Dex is a reformed biker that lives his life for Christ. That alone is a contradiction, yet he is also the sole heir to a billion-dollar company. Dex must learn forgiveness and reconcile with his father. I love the characters and what they had to struggle with. I liked that they came from different backgrounds and were so attracted to each other. The chemistry between the couple was amazing. Once again the author did an amazing job of making the characters mature before they were ready to be a part of a relationship. This was an amazing book that I would love to read again and again. I recommend this book to anyone that loves opposite attract, inspirational romance. I received a copy of this book. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I expected to like the book because I've enjoyed all of the author's other works that I've read. I did not expect to be so very pleasantly surprised at how much I loved the unexpected plot. The author took the plot in a completely different direction than what I expected and then she added some twists and turns. I found the main characters to be likable and well developed, and I loved Tank, a.k.a. Grandpa. I found Dex's careful treatment of Tirzah to be one of the most romantic things I've read in a long time. Evangeline Kelly emphasized family and relationships, not the excessive consumption that some billionaire books have. I appreciated the gentle and naturally flowing Scriptural parts to the book. Tirzah learned that grace and truth triumph over man-made rules. I could continue on about specific things that I loved about the book, but no readers appreciate plot spoilers. I highly recommend this book! I received an ARC. I chose to write a review and share my opinion of this excellent romance.
I don't know what to say about this book. I contacted the author after a couple of chapters - I didn't think this was a book for me. We exchanged a couple of emails with her understanding where I was coming from. I decided to give it a couple of days and I just finished this book. To say it was a complete turn around is just not enough. I have been a Christian my entire life, definitely some years better than others, but this book moved something that had disappeared a few years ago. This is a very touching and emotional book with a beautiful story. The characters are outstanding. This author has displayed a depth of empathy (or experience) in this book. I would recommend this book. I think I was in the right place for the Lord and this book to come together so brilliantly. I realize not everyone will get what I did from the book, but it is a good and deeply enjoyable read. I did receive an ARC copy of this book. This is my voluntary and completely honest review with my own personal thoughts and opinions. Vicki from Wyoming
ONE INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE!!! Wow! Man, talk about heartache. A whirlwind of emotions and events that feed from the excitement and nerve racking tension that brings this bad boy roaring to life brilliantly. All the twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few glitches and bumps here and there pull you deeper into this raging storyline and hard hitting plot. Throw in all the drama, intrigue, uncertainty, danger and suspense and you have one intense, page turning bombshell that grabs your attention and holds it from start to finish. The characters are complex and so believable it feels like you can just reach out and touch them. The scenes are so graphically detailed it really pulls this little jewel together beautifully. You have no trouble picturing each scenario as it plays off one another perfectly. Evangeline definitely nailed this bad boy 100% on point. Remarkable job Evangeline, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
The beginning of the story was very disturbing to me due to the "cultish" feel I got from the relationship of Tirzah and her parents and their church. It was hard to believe that this could really happen today, but it does. She was very sheltered, determined to obey her parents and follow the teachings of her church; but when confronted with unacceptable behavior from the man she is arranged to marry, finds the strength to stand up for herself, despite the consequences. The by-play between Tirzah, her grandfather and Dex and some of the other characters is fun to read. Each person in the story is challenged in some way and struggles to overcome their individual challenges. This is a story of a test of love, power of prayer, redemption and the true meaning of walking the walk and seeing true faith in action. I received an Advanced Reader Copy from the author and am giving my honest, unbiased review of the book.
This was a fantastic, clean Christian romance about never judging a book by its cover, faith, and finding the true person behind a stereotype. Dex is a Christian biker and heir to a manufacturing company with a heart of gold. Tirzah is a sheltered young woman who longs for love and secretly questions the religious practices her parents and their pastor teaches. Blind Date With a Billionaire Biker was filled with danger, healing, forgiveness, Christ-like teachings, witty, flirtatious banter, and love. Its a wonderful story two people from completely different backgrounds who help each other find the true meaning of Christ's teaching through prayer and living by example. Evangeline Kelly has a way of creating clean romance stories with wonderful characters that help readers learn more about Christ's love for all of us through repentance, forgiveness, and service of others. I absolutely loved this series. "I voluntarily reviewed an ARC copy of this book."

Another excellent story. I think this is an unique, eye-opening and inspirational illustration of how the power of prayer can breakdown the walls of manipulation. I was so proud of Tizzy, she is a very strong woman considering and Dex is just....wow, his boldness to share his love of the Lord, opens the floodgates for others and himself to love, hope and forgive. Their relationship has its challenges, test, testimonies and their heartwarming story seems very realistic and is also soul searching. The actions of her parents rubbed me the wrong way yet its much deeper than them, their actions opens the door for her grandpa actions to help them. I really love Dex because regardless of how he is treated by others due to his past or outward appearance, he has passion in his heart for the Lord. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
This story was inspirational. It showed how God's grace is for everyone. Tizzy was raised by very conservative Christian parents, the church they attended had very antiquated ways. When her father gets in trouble with a loan shark he puts his daughter at risk. She finally meets her grandpa and his Christian biker friends to keep her safe. Dex is one of them and he and Tizzy begin a friendship. Through her grandfather's church she sees the hypocrisy of her parents and their church. As she and Dex fall in love she is torn about going back. When her mom gets sick and Tizzy returns to help her she will need all of her trust in God to return to Dex. This story will really make you assess your life as God wants you to be. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

Reconciliation was the theme of Tizzy and Dex's romance. Based on their individual experiences of God's love and forgiveness, this story is full of being able to forgive and love parents. A completely absent parent seeks forgiveness from Dexter after he grows up with a hole in his heart without ever meeting his father. A grandfather seeks restoration of the daughter he signed over for adoption but is blessed by the visit of his grandaughter before being united with his daughter, a year later. And a daughter who was raised by controlling parents in a church devoted to duty is able to love her parents in spite of following her calling against their will. This story tells of judgmental attitudes being set aside with difficulty allowing new understandings to occur. Recommended!
Her best book yet!!! Evangeline Kelly's characters are always relatable but this time she has outdone herself. Dex and Tizzy the main couple are exact opposites yet somehow they find themselves together again and again. Tizzy's grandpa helps the young couple see God's plan for them and helps Tizzy's parents realize that different can be a good thing if given a chance.
Unlike Kelly's other romance stories, this is a full length novel but you'll find yourself finishing it with lightening speed as you loose sleep wondering what's going to happen next.
A great book to take you away from your everyday routine and leave you smiling; and like all of Kelly's books ...... wanting more!!
The legalistic home that Tizrah (love this name) came from was incredibly oppressive. It was hard to read her struggles with what her parents and church required of her, and what the Lord asked of her. She was so confused, and she had so much to learn, but she was open. She was open to seeing things the way others do and reflecting on that.
One thing I've noticed is that Ms. Kelly doesn't shy away from hard topics. But her characters always go through growth by the end. And that was no exception here. It's one of the main reasons I keep coming back to her stories. Her characters have major flaws, but they also grow in the Lord and themselves.
Reconciliation and the grace of God in the lives of everyone involved. This has a strong Christian theme but definitely with a different twist. Dex was the result of an affair with a very rich and powerful man, who after a time in the military became part of a motorcycle gang called Bikers for Christ. Tirzah was polar opposite as she grew up in an ultra conservative Christian home where arranged marriage was still a thing and dresses the only acceptable clothing for women. The way these two got together was amazing and as they tip-toed into a relationship trying to figure everything out with all the roadblocks in their way.
The H is a served as a Marine & is hunky & very capable, a biker, & a dedicated Christian. He was not acknowledged by his father as his married dad had an affair & only supported him financially.
The h was raised by religious, legalistic parents. She is not permitted to wear slacks & must observe a long list of rules to be seen as righteous before God & her church & parents. Her parents picked her future husband & they don't actually like each other. The author has surprises throughout the book & clearly keeps the reader's attention. I plan to read all her books as they are so riveting & different from the usual Christian, ĺove story.
I totally loved this book:) A lot of times people judge others by the outside appearance. The bible teaches us God judges us by our hearts. This story reminded me of Romeo and Juliet, coming from different backgrounds and family situations. Can the main characters work things out? Will true love overcome differences? Can people be forgiven of past mistakes? Read this book if you'd like to know:) I highly recommend this book and author :) Happy reading!
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I’ve enjoyed it – something different and refreshing! The interactions between Dex and Tizzy are adorable, I miss them already! I love how spunky Tizzy is. You'll experience a roller-coaster of emotions. “Reconciliation…it’s not easy. It tears down your pride and shows you who you really are inside. But in the end, it’s the sweetest gift you could ever hope for.” * I received an ARC from the author and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions in this review are my own. *
I just completed Blind Date with a Billionaire Biker and loved it! The characters are well developed and blend beautifully. This story gives the reader a little of everything. Romance, intrigue, Christian witness, a reminder of caring for our fellowman through tangible actions. Once I started reading I didn’t want to stop. The script is once again believable. The chapters are lengthy enough to ensure the thought process is not disjointed. When concluding a novel by this author, I’m left with a feeling of contentment and not dread and I encourage readers to buy this book without delay!!
This story started off with a bang, and never slowed down! The characters were so relatable. Their struggles and accomplishments had me crying and cheering. I found the lessons of acceptance of others so poignant. I loved the scripture references and the faith journey the many characters experienced. The romance was tender, and clean, though slightly unbelievable at times. I appreciated that the physical intimacy was so Disney. On a steaminess level I would rate this a pleasant G.
