Riley's Pride #1

Riley's Pride

Rate this book

There’s a new Alpha in town...

He’s tried for too long to make a life in a place with more than its share of Alphas. His Panther has decided enough is enough. His Mate has renounced him as a result of a grave misunderstanding, and he’s struck out on his own, forging a new future and a new Pride that will welcome all who have struggled to find their place. He will be their Alpha - they will live by his rules. Together they will make a new life in the hills and mountains of Missouri. They’ll build a life to be proud of, a life that will welcome all their Mates, if they are lucky enough to find them. A life his own estranged Mate will hopefully be drawn to. It will be dangerous because the shifters that have struggled to find a place are usually the most unpredictable, those that never fit anywhere else. But that’s what makes life interesting isn’t it - danger, unpredictability and love?

Welcome to Riley’s Pride!

I write Paranormal, SciFi and Fantasy Romance. Why, you may ask? Romance, because who doesn’t love a good romance, and the lack of reality in the story lines - because, well, normal is highly overrated. I’m 55, I have two kids, one 32 and one 12 (yes, God does have a sense of humor), one grandchild, one husband, and a menagerie of animals. Literally, too damn many things that eat wandering around our property. I love to cook, and I am a voracious reader, though since I started writing I don’t get as much time to read as I once did. I am a homebody and prefer my writing/reading time to a crowd. I have had stories and fictional characters wandering around in my head for as long as I can remember. I started letting them out into the real world and surprisingly, people have loved them. I am a Self-Published Author, and I like it that way because I can decide what and when to write. I am by no means a formal, polished, properly structured individual and neither are my stories. But people seem to love the easy emotion and passion that naturally flow from them. A bit of a warning though, there are some “triggers” in them that certain people should avoid. I’m a firm believer that you cannot have light without the dark. You cannot fully embrace the joy and elation that my people eventually find if you do not bear witness to their darkest hours as well. So please be sure to read the warnings supplied with each of the synopses about my books before you buy them. I've got three series published at this time, Avaleigh's Boys - PNR, Whispers From the Bayou - Fantasy PNR, Haven - a SciFi, and three more in process. I’m a bit sarcastic, scathing actually, and a smartass to boot, so if I offend you, it is most likely not intentional. But be prepared because it probably won’t be the last time. I’m always glad to hear from readers; those who have followed me from the beginning, and those who have just found my people. So feel free to look me up and say hello, or just follow along; either way, I’m glad to have you.

Continues previous series, now H and h have parted, not permanent, however she shows how immature she is, validating his decision. He builds a new pride with amazing people, showing his strength as a person and as an alpha. The story was weakened by some characters, I found it too sweet for my taste. This author does 'brutal' so much better.

First off, let me say that this book is strangely not under the correct Sandra Neeley. When I look under her books, this one is not there. When I click on this Neeley author, this is her only book. So hopefully that will be fixed.
Second: I LOVED this book! I cannot wait for more of Riley's pride and for everyone to find their mates. My only niggle is that is she is still under 18, I am a little bothered by that.
I have said it before and I will say it again; Neeley is quickly becoming a MF romance favorite of mine. I love that there is a plot to her stories, not just sex. You fall in love with the supporting characters as much as the main.
I cannot wait for more.

I love when we get a new series that started with old Favorites. Avaleigh's Boys will always be a favorite of mine but it's so nice to see more, to get a peek into their lives while watching a whole new world being built.
I was ready for this story for so long, the drama was building as the Boy's ended their stories, I really wanted to see what happened to these two! Is Riley the Alpha he thinks he is? Is Maia mature enough to see maybe she was wrong? Will these two strong willed, stubborn people be able to have a future or does the past have too strong of an influence on them???
I loved reading it, finding out for myself and falling in love with a whole new set of amazing characters that are now stuck in my head...…...so as usual, gonna need many more stories in the future to keep this bookwhore happy!! LOL

One of my favourite author's strikes again. Lots of characters introduced ready for the series and what a good series this will be. Riley has moved away to start his own pride and new life. Great storyline including tears, laughter, a nasty Alpha and it's Christmas time too! Fabulous read.

I was excited to see this story as I love the author's other stories! It didn't disappoint me at all. Getting to see "my boys" from the original series was great but this is going to be another great one for Ms. Neeley!! I can't wait to see where she takes us!!!!

Book Review

I simply love these stories. I know they all mostly end the same but it's the middle that's holds me. Who does not like a good HEA. Another factor is when there are multiple characters and the author gives them a story too. You get to follow the whole family. It is so hard waiting for the next Saga to drop. Damn authors don't write fast enough for me. Well I hope you will enjoy this as much as I did. Take Care Yall!!!!!

Amazing beginning to a new series

Riley and Maia's story was long over due and did not dissapoint. Through it all a strong theme of family comes through all the time in all shapes and sizes. Some funny and sad parts. Rather liked the introduction of new characters, and old characters returning for a short visit, like family often turn up when you need them. Overall well written and a joy to read. P.S whens the next story to Haven coming? That's a favourite.

Amazing story

This book is amazing. Riley leaves with his little girl to build a new pride and a new business. Along the way he gets his fist member. Maia is his mate, but she believes he cheated on her, he didn't. She renounced him. They both have broken hearts. He starts to build his pride but longs for his mate. Her dad brings her there and leaves her , she is furious. Will love win? Will Christie get a mom?

This book, for me, stands on the strength of Riley and the formation of his pride. Which is pretty great. I definitely want to see what the other characters will be up to next. The romance was ok. There wasnt enough interaction between them to feel the love and the reason they were apart is my pettest of peeves: simple misunderstanding.
Luckily the new pride is full of interesting characters and I am absolutely curious to read more.

Riley has decided to start his own pride in a different state without his mate. He will begin his Pride with different shifters who want to start a new life. His estrange mate (Maia) is brought to him by her father. Maia is out of control with her bad behavior. She needs to join her mate. I enjoyed reading this book concerning different characters' that interconnected with each other to create a strong family bond.

I have seen this authors name around and seen a few of her books but have not read any until now. I asked some friends for suggestions on what to read and this book kept coming up so I grabbed it ans am so glad I did. Were panthers, bears, wolf, tiger and even a gorilla plus an un-shiftable male and a human, what a great mismatch group of drifters who find themselves and a pack/pride/family with each other. A great PNR and I would recommend this book.

Love, love, love!

I loved every aspect of this book. The dialogue, characters and epic reunion. One thing I loved the most is the continuation from "Avaleighs boys". The fact that avaleigh and the rest of the original crew feature in this series make me love her books even more. The romance is hot, the characters hilarious and the storyline never gets old. Thank you sandra! I cant wait for the next one 😍

Leaving the others behind to start his own pride ,Riley & his daughter set off, leaving his mate behind after she says she doesn't want him.
I loved this book and seeing the new people grow & hopefully get their own books.

The first book in the spinoff series of Avaleigh’s Boys.

It was wonderful to see the start of a new Pride based on trust, respect and love. It is feel of interesting characters so I can’t wait to read more.

And what I love about Sandra Neeley books is the warm feel good factor. They always cheer me up and put a smile on my face.

Fantastic book!!

I loved reading this book!! Riley and Maia started their story in Avaleigh's boys series. I was so happy to continue their story in this book! There was a really big misunderstanding between Riley and Maia. Riley leaves to try to set up a new pride and life for them for when Maia is ready. He meets some new friends along the way that I fell in love with!

Fantastic start to a spin off series! It was like visiting old friends all while meeting new ones. You can't go wrong with this series. If you haven't read Avaleigh's Boys - you don't need to. I, of course, recommend it because some of the characters make an appearance but it isn't totally necessary to.
Read this - you won't regret it!

What can I say about this book? First, it is a must read. Second, I cannot wait to read more about the pride and hook-ups. This book left me wondering who will get a book, who will love who, how will they survive the next threat and what it might be! Even with that I feel like I need to read this love story again. Realistic characters make the book enjoyable to read.

Such a great start!

I love all of Sandra's books, but Avaleigh's Boys were my favorite. The new pride is even better, because the new characters are wonderful and there are plenty of moments mingling with the old characters. A great start to a new series. I can't wait to read all of the upcoming stories.

So Romantic!!!

I love a story that empowers women while at the same time allowing the alpha male to love them without physical abuse and degradation to the point of making you cringe.

Nice follow up

This was such a refreshing conclusion to Avaleigh's Boys. Glad to see Riley get his pack and he is building something better in the place where there was so much abuse in the first series. Really enjoyable!!!

Loved this book, I'm hooked on her books. There was a problem with this book though, I couldn't put it down, I really enjoyed it that much.
Just hoping there's a follow up.

3.5 stars. A surprisingly enjoyable read from a new author to me through KU.
Lots of likeable characters and a different styled shifter based story.
I enjoyed the fact this was a multi shifter pride, anyone is welcome as long as they pledge to the family. And that is the feeling you get, this miscellaneous bunch are family.
This is a new author for me but I have to say I felt I was coming late into a well known series and that I am meant to know these people and what their background stories are.
Having researched this author I find this is apparently the children from another series, now grown up and making their own life stories.
This makes me feel I am missing a lot of background which takes away my reading pleasure due to unanswered questions.
There is nothing said about the mother of Riley’s daughter Christie. Was she his mate and where is she now.
Obviously there is a story about Maia and her father, I also believe she has a brother, the Matty who was at the wedding.
I thought Maia was too young and needed ageing. If she was only 17, this is a bit unclear, then she is too young and the misunderstanding is due to her lack of maturity. That is why I thought the point of the renouncing was about. She would age a couple of years but it was only two months they were separated.
She is practically a child herself and the mate of someone who has a child already. Just didn’t feel right with the whole story.
Sometimes the childish way of speaking threw me. Not sure if this is an area dialect way of speech thing or where the author is from but not something I am used too. Every now and then it snagged my attention and not in a good way.
A few proofing errors that should have been picked up made it through to publishing.
Will be looking to read about all the interesting characters introduced. Hope Travis finds the strength to claim Libby and want the others to all get HEA’s too.
