Magic doesn’t lie. Witches do.

Our Coven Leader is dead...and they think I killed him. I didn’t. I would never have hurt him. I tried everything I could to save him.

But it’s their word against mine.

And with his blood staining my hands and caked in my hair, I don’t know how I’m going to get them to believe me...

Because the truth is far more unsettling..those shadow creatures knew exactly where and when to ambush us. Someone set us up to be slaughtered...and it wasn’t me.

The scariest part is...that Ouija Board tried to warn me...

The Fallen Witch features a sharp-witted heroine, swoon-worthy hero, and one epic rollercoaster romance set inside a magical academy! Fans of The Mortal Instruments, Twilight, or Harry Potter will love Chandelle LaVaun’s brand new urban fantasy series!

This series just keeps getting better!

What a roller coaster ride! I can’t believe everything that has happened. I was so happy at the reunion! Despite the sadness of Timothy being gone. Bettina is just as kickass as Tegan! She has definitely become another favorite character to me. my heart broke for her with what happened with Jackson... I did not see that coming! The story is getting to be soo good! I can’t wait to read the next book! I hope they rescue Warner! Also I hope to see more of Lonan as well... I highly recommend this series as a must read!

Unlike Hidden Witch, you really need to have read the Elemental Magic series before reading this one. There's a lot of characters from that series here, and I haven't read it so I really don't know who they are. Still good, but there's a lot of places to get lost without all the back knowledge.

****There will be spoilers in this from The Hidden Witch, consider yourself warned!****

This one picks up right where The Hidden Witch ended, which is good cause that cliffhanger about destroyed me. Bettina has been accused of murder, Timothy, one of the leaders of the Coven has fallen. She is waiting in the dungeon until the Coven comes to determine her fate. Jackson is in disbelief, and shock-his father figure has been killed with the girl that has captured his heart as the one accused of the crime. He wants to believe her, but has he been swayed by a pretty face. With only Lennox to on her side things look to be hopeless- although we should remember that hope is not lost.

The Coven shows up in a spectacular way! Tegan and Bettina’s scenes together remind me of what a best friend ship should look like. After the Bettina’s fate is decided they are off chasing answers to questions that are popping up left and right. Old friends are shown in a new light and the excitement of getting answers really does carry the book along. Only as soon as one question is answered another one pops up. The Old Lands are involved but how closely and to what extent.

Bettina is a rock star in this one. All the emotions, all the feels, all the tears, sighs and even kisses are felt. She has been put through the ringer. Accused of murdered, the most hated gal on campus, The Coven coming to her defense, her magic being on lock down, her love interested so interested that he isn’t interested. What more can a gal go through? Apparently, there is more, and boy does it hurt a lot.

Jackson grows more in this on than in the last book. He has too, his mentor is dead, his bestie is gone, and The Coven is all around. Michael is coming, apparently soon and he has to be ready. No more distractions, so he does what any guy would do and pushes Bettina away. There are going to be some folks that hate how hot/cold he runs with Bettina, I get it though. (Yes, I did sing a few lyrics of the song as I started typing.) The pressure his family has put on his is unfair, to fight/fix the wrath of an archangel and not just any archangel but Michael. The Coven wants to help him, the Crones want to help him, nothing he has done up to this point in his life has been for him but instead for his family curse instead.

While a lot happens to Bettina in the story, there is definitely a Jackson take-over about half way through. I feel like there is a reason for this, and like Tegan it is on the tip of my tongue as to why but yeah… I am hoping it becomes clearer why in the next book that is released later this month.

The last 25% of the book hit me right in the heart, tears in my eyes falling down my cheek. I felt Bettina’s anguish, her pain, her disbelief and her resolve. It broke me. Jackson’s confusion, his sorrow and distress added to my own worry. How is this going to be fixed? Can it be fixed? Grief over what was, could have been and is settled in.

Then the ending! What an ending! How are they going to get out of this?

This book was better than the first, which was already pretty epic. I am dying to know what happens next and if Michael comes sooner than we thought he would. I also want to know how King Arthur compares to Lancelot.

My Rating 5 out of 5 stars

Favorite Quote If I couldn’t have my Lancelot, then why not give King Arthur a chance?

Action packed

This book was action packed and full of angst. There are sweet and funny parts, but for the most part, people are dropping like flies. I LOVE that we get to be with the original crew, while being on this journeyed Bettina and Jackson. I need for them to resolve the Jackson Bettina thing or at least get them on the right path. Lots of action left and of course another cliffhanger, but the entire series us out. Multi POV and must be read in order. You don't have to have read Regan and Tennessee story, but everything will make so much more sense. It's a fantastic series and worth the read. I'd really like something positive to start happening for the group.

So good

I am enjoying this series. Loved the first, and still love the coven. And for sure if Tennegan is there, I’m in. Fun getting to know these characters. Glad I waited for this part of the series to be about complete. Couldn’t have handled the wait. There are a few glaring errors, which is the only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. Good job.

Oh My Goddess

Without giving away any spoilers... this is just amazing!!! The Fallen Witch starts off right where the other one left off and the action just never stops. We get to see the gang from the Coven and the kids from Eden interact with each other. And Teagan and Bettina together is amazing. This book will have you on the edge of your seat from page 1 until the very end and have you wondering what happened and wondering what you will do with yourself until you can read the next one.

A Great Read

Loved it!

What's not to love, Bettina is accused of killing Timothy, the coven leader (you really need to read book one). The Coven have been called to decide her fate (yay Tegan and the crew are coming)
🤩).

We visit the Old Lands and Crone Island in this story and there are so many twists and turns I think I have whiplash 😲. The story flows brilliantly and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Brilliantly written, excellent characters and awesome scene building going on here. We even get a Kracken!

A must read. Can't wait for The Wild Witch, book 3.

Beautifully written and devoured every page
What a book!! The story has expanded in epic ways and I can't wait to see where chandelle leads us. The talent you have chandelle should be bottled! This saga is growing so much more exciting and loveable than I could ever image. The characters explode off the page and the plot is flowing beautifully. This is a must read series that will make your imagination fly into unknown magical places. Bring on the next book which will be devoured like I devoured the fallen witch! Love love love. Well done 😊

This is another winner. I just love this author. She has some imagination. Her characters are wonderful and great storylines in every book. I am so glad the characters in the first series merged with this series. Can't wait for the next book in July. I highly recommend all her books to everyone who loves witches. Diana Romano

Roller coaster of emotions and adventure

The Fallen Witch is book two in Chandelle LaVaun’s The Coven: Practical Magic series. This continues on right where The Hidden Witch ended with Bettina being escorted by the Knights to jail after being accused of killing Timothy, the male leader of the Coven and the Judgement Card. Book one must be read before reading this one.

Bettina is waiting in the dungeon until the Coven comes to determine her fate. She is distraught, devastated, heart broken, grieving and feeling guilty, no one will let you speak and tell her side of what happened, her friends won’t look at her and she is at a lost. Jackson is in just as much of a bad way, he can’t believe that Bettina would kill Timothy, but what he saw says otherwise. He has lost his father figure and he in shock and disbelief that girl that has captured his heart could have made him a fool.

When the Coven shows up to make the decision to what Bettina’s fate will be, no one expected to have best friends reuniting. In a spectacular scene Tina and Tegan come face to face and emotions run high, Tegan goes on the defence along with several of the other Coven Members to defend the innocence of Tina. When Tina reveals what had happened to Tim she is proven innocent but many other questions and dangers arise when the name Joseph has made appearance with the Ouija board and the final words from Tim. The Coven member as well as the Swords that went to the Old World will need to work together and follow the clues being left behind. Tina must go to the Croons to unlock her powers, they need to go and rescue Warner from the Old World and defeat Joseph.

This book had me going through a wide range of emotions, it was a roller coaster the heartache, lust, jealous, grief. My heart aches for Bettina and Jackson, they have to me soul mates, seriously fate can’t be that nasty to these two. I’m just hoping that cause Tina’s magic hasn’t completely been released that is what is messing with the bond. (Please, please let it be this and that there isn’t some else for Jackson.)

Pain. Pain of loss. Pain of heartache. Pain of failure. Pain of not being believed & losing peoples trust. I absolutely love this series. “The Coven Elemental series” was heart stopping fantastic, Now Chandelle LaVaun has continued her uniqueness with the “Coven Academy Magic series’ it was great seeing the previous characters from the coven who I thought their involvement had finished. Seeing them Interact with the characters in this series was such a brilliant idea. This series has its own storylines but is definitely enhanced by the Coven joining Bettina’s journey. The Fallen Witch seamlessly follows from the cliffhanger ending left at the end of book.1. “The Hidden Witch” with everyone’s reaction to what happened to Timothy, and how Bettina was treated. At one point I had to put the book down because I was that overwhelmed with emotions I literally couldn’t read anymore. Disappointment exploded inside me as I knew how much Bettina & Jackson’s characters would be devastated. Realising how much more pain that would follow was heartbreaking..But I had to stop the tears and suck it up to continue. I knew the raw emotions that was to come would be difficult to experience. What a credit to Chandelle LaVaun, to make someone’s emotions feel so real is such an ability & talent that it is off the charts. I can loose myself for hours within this authors books as she completely takes over my every thought, and blocks out the world beyond. I can’t give you any hints or spoilers about this book, because you need to read and feel it to make your own decisions. What I can say is that I find these characters so well developed, trusting and exciting. Then adding into the mix plots so believable and imaginative makes this one of my favourite fantasy / supernatural / magical series out there. It is totally absorbing and deserves every accolade it receives. Now I will be waiting with anticipation for the next book in the series.

This book was so good! It was definitely a little better than the first book in some ways. I loved that Teagan finally got to see her best friend. They had so many close encounters in the first, it was almost frusterating. I just wanted them to see each other again. And Teagan is a total badass and so are all the female characters! I really love the girl power theme that is happening in this series. Bettina is also pretty badass and I think there is some hidden power that she has and now that it's unblocked it will be interesting to see that come out more. I thought it was so cool when she made her own spell to draw energy from the moon and when she could do the telekinesis thing like Teagan. I can't wait to see what else she can do when the next book comes out and discover exactly how powerful she really is.

However, one thing I really HATED was the romance. Jackson is so hot and cold with Bettina it's annoying. They clearly have a spark but he won't explore it because she is a "distraction" . But guess what dude she is still a distraction when you aren't together because you cannot stop thinking about her. Just be with her! And then at the end of the book when he got the soulmate glyph, it just broke my heart. I really think Bettina is his soulmate. I hope that they are actually soulmates but whatever Bettinas origins are, is preventing her from getting the mark and delaying his. Like maybe she is part Angel and now that her magic is coming out he got the mark but she still hasn't gotten hers. But that's probably just wishful thinking. I just hope they get a happy ending. I refuse to believe they aren't soulmates.

Fantastic. Could not put it down.
Timothy, the Coven leader and Jackson's mentor, is dead and it appears that Bettina is the one who did the deed.

The funeral for Timothy is held and immediately after Evaline May, The World, came into the circle that had been formed and asked if Bettina had murdered or had any part in Timothy's death. The answer was no. Evaline said it was both good and bad news that Bettina was telling the truth. She was acquitted of having commited thr crime.

The Coven's healers are trying to save Kenneth who has Witch's Shock. The infirmary cannot do what he needs. He has to go to the Crones and cannot portal. When he is stronger he will go to the Crones. A turn for the worse sends Kenneth and the others via plane and boat to Crone Island.

Trouble keeps raising it's ugly head and the group goes to the Ancient Lands where some amazing and strange things happen.

The next book can't come soon enough.

It's not fair.

Okay, so having a BFF who is the Aether Witch is about the best thing that can happen to a girl. Even before Bettina is brought in front of Evangaline for judgement, Tegan proclaims her innocence, and Tenn threatens bodliy harm to anyone who doesn't Evangaline's findings. The two besties are overjoyed to be reunited and sharing in a world they've always loved. Now if only they could get Bettina's magic unlocked. Several Coven members who were sent back to Salem's past, head to Witch Island with Bettina, and Jackson. Together, Myrtle and Tegan unlock Bettina's magic which is unlike any the Crones have seen before. But before she can enjoy her new magic, reality comes crashing back in. Firstly, Eden comes under attack from the same foe that attempted to frame Bettina for the murder of a Coven member, and secondly, Jackson receives his soul mate glyph, but who receives the matching one?

Cliffhanger!

I love Chandelle LaVaughn's Coven books, and this one does not disappoint. Though you could start here without being too lost, I recommend starting with her first series. You'll want to go back and read it anyway. The series is full of action and romance.

This book introduces Bettina to the Coven. Her relationship with Jackson gets complicated. There was a twist I didn't see coming. I can't wait for the next book! I hope Michael finally shows up.

The only drawback is that Jackson's British accent doesn't work for me. Someone who's been in the US since age 5 probably wouldn't have one, and Jackson's doesn't seem natural to me--from watching too much British TV and Youtubers.

So freaking giid!!!!

This is the second book in Bettinas story and is just as good as the first. After what happened in the end of the first one she now awaits for The Coven to show up to find out her fate. Her nor Tegan (her best friend) realize that the ither is a witch. When Tegan learns that shes the one on trial she she immediately knows theres more to it and than shes innocent. I adored how Tegan and her family have Bettinas back. Now she, Jackson and friends all have to go on a quest to find out about her powers and to find their friend. I truly could not put down and couldnt get enough of them. So excited to learn what becomes of them all in the next book and how they manage and learn more about her powers!!

A few surprise twists

There are a few twists I did not see coming relating to Jackson in particular but it kept me guessing. I may not not have agreed with all of the authors choices and it will be interesting to see how the story plays out. Having not read The Coven series I did miss a few references to the other books and the characters background but I still enjoyed reading these books. To be honest The Coven series did not grab my attention the way this one did but I jay read it at a later date. I love the friendship between Tegan and Bettina, a true best friendship with all the perks of having someone know and accept you, that is priceless. Bettina needs that validation in her life right now as the try to unravel the secrets.

WOW!!! I was pulled in from the beginning! Fabulous paranormal/fantasy world, I absolutely love this series of books, the action starts slowly and builds, The characters are well defined early on and blossom throughout the series, you can feel the tension building between the main characters early in the series which develop wonderfully as each book progresses. Very well written storey. There are no cliff hangers as such but each book always leaves you wanting more so be warned though once you start reading this series you won’t be able to put the books down so be prepared for some binge reading.

Extraordinary supernatural urban fantasy series

An extraordinary urban fantasy series. Kind of a cross between the mortal instruments Harry Potter and a couple others. There is a school of magic or we just learn to use their magic. Depending on when your magic appears is when you go to the school. In the human world they are unaware of witches and magic etc. But in the world of witches witches are ruled by the coven. The most powerful witches are the leaders of the coven. Witches were put on earth to fight evil and protect humanity follow our group of characters as they constantly strive to save the world and protect humanity

It went YES and then Oh No My Heart

3.5! The beginning was satisfactory and so much more. It never really sat well with me that Bettina had been left out of Tegan's life so I'm glad they're together again. B needs love and I love that she's getting it.

It's quest time again and I love seeing The Coven, but right now there's this weird thing where it's THEM and then Bettina. Almost like she has to learn to be okay being less than supernatural among the supernatural. Which she totally is, but still. She sees the gap.

It's interesting to see the way things are going. I can't wait for the next book.

Wow!!

By far one of my favorite authors, and yes, she's done it again. This book picks up exactly were we last left off. Without giving any spoilers, this book is so intense. Bettina, is fighting to prove she is innocent after the death of Tim. Though some are convinced of her innocence she'll need to prove it to the coven. So glad they are back in this book. Now she has to figure out how to unlock her powers, get over Jackson and save Eden. Not to bad for book 2. Grab it, read it you will love this as much as you did the coven.
