Bran is filled with hate and anger over the deaths of his parents and willingly accepts a mission to avenge them. The mission is simple: 1. Go undercover as a rogue shifter looking for work 2. Infiltrate Collier Pack knowing their close ties to Westin Pack 3. When the opportunity arises…Kill Kelsey Westin His mission is sealed by a blood oath forged by a powerful witch. He’s prepared for every possible scenario—except her.
Ruby has watched as one by one her sisters find their true mates. They’ve fought the calling and she’s seen first-hand what an unresolved bond does to a person. Vowing never to do that to herself, when she stumbles across a handsome stranger squatting on Collier land, she knows he’s her one true mate. And she wastes no time sealing their bond forever.
Now Bran is bound to Ruby, and her position gives him quick access to his target in unexpected ways. Killing Kelsey now comes with a steep price of losing Ruby forever. But the pain of the blood oath will kill him if he doesn’t act.
Time is running out. Kelsey or Bran must die to break the oath and true love cannot fix Bran’s dilemma…or can it?
Julie Trettel is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal Romance. She comes from a long line of story tellers. Writing has always been a stress reliever and escape for her to manage the crazy demands of juggling time and schedules between work and an active family of six. In her “free time,” she enjoys traveling, reading, outdoor activities, and spending time with family and friends.
Ruby has watched all her siblings resist bonding with their true mates. She's learned that all the nonsense could have been avoided if they'd just bonded and not fought so hard to resist the mating. So what does she do when she meets a complete stranger and recognizes him as her mate? She immediately bonds with him...no questions asked!
I love a marriage before love trope and this was the perfect storm because not only was Bran a stranger. He was an assassin sent to end a very precious life!
I absolutely loved the sleeper agent / spy aspect of this story!! It gave me so much anxiety, but it was worth it in the end.
I enjoyed this book. I loved how Ruby didn’t hold back or fight the bond with Bran even though she only got his name before sealing the bond. She didn’t see any reason to fight it after seeing what an unresolved true mate bond looks like. I loved the connection between Ruby and Bran. I loved that he taught both Ruby and Peyton to protect themselves if needed. Man, you can feel Bran’s emotions throughout this book especially when he knows he’s going to hurt his mate when he completes the blood oath of vengeance for his parents being k*lled set by his Alpha to k*ll the witch Elena aka Kelsey Westin. The excruciating pain of not fulfilling the blood oath gets way worse when Kyle and Kelsey arrive in Collier, Bran sabotages the saddle on Kelsey’s horse and she falls off and breaks her leg and because his first attempt didn’t work he decides to put poison in the cake batter that Peyton is making for Kelsey to get rid of the pain he’s in and then he gets told by Austin and Wyatt that Ruby and the girls are all extremely sick but Ruby is the worst as the others shifted whereas Ruby couldn’t because she’s pregnant. Not only is he filled with so much guilt for having to constantly lie to Ruby and also having to hurt anyone but it’s way worse when it’s his mate and unborn child are sick because of something he’s done, you can feel his anguish/pain. I’m glad Bran found a safe and loving place with Ruby, their unborn child and all the friends and the rest of the Collier family he’d made when coming to Collier to do his Alpha’s bidding as after everything he’s been through he deserves it. I wonder what Bran will end up doing in regards to the blood oath and k*lling Kelsey. I’m looking forward to reading Peyton’s story next. I’d recommend this book, series, Westin World Universe and author to everyone.
OMG! Ms. Trettel totally raised the bar on herself even, with this amazing new 6 star must read, IMHO! :D I was totally blown away with this fan-freaking-tastic PNR romantic suspense novel that grabbed me from the start & held on tight so that I read it in record time! "In Plain Sight" is the 3rd stand-alone phenomenal story in the Collier Pack world of shifters! I don't know how she comes up with each brand new & different story, relatable characters and fantastic descriptions with some surprise twists & turns, but I know that readers will be just as engaged, glued to their seats and turning pages fast like I did! :D I never write spoilers or recap blurbs, but even tho I always volunteer to read this author's amazing works, it is without any outside influences, and these are my honest feelings! Also, I usually buy most of her books whenever I can, so I can honestly recommend this to all adult 18+ fans of fiction & especially those who love fantasy, PNR and/or shifters! Now I can't wait for more, but of course I will!
Tomboy Ruby Collier was contentedly happy as a cowgirl and resigned that she may never find her own true mate after seeing resistance to and rejection of the mating bond when she runs across Bulgarian shifter, Bran who’s on a mission. They are both shocked and immediately seal their bond.
Bran’s life is bound to killing Elena/Kelsey, Westin’s Pack Mother, a pack ally and in-law to two of Ruby’s siblings. As his pack attacked Elena, Bran’s parents were killed trying to force her to return to them, her birth pack. And Bran’s mission is to avenge their deaths. But Bran’s plans didn’t include finding his true mate or that she’d be a Collier!
Invested in his new relationships, genuine friends and affection, growing affection and camaraderie for his mate’s family, packmates and allies throws Bran in turmoil as the pressure of his oath nips at all his new bonds, Bran’s torn and makes token efforts to fulfill his vow as guilt of betraying everyone, including his mate, eats him alive Rating: 4.5stars
Another captivating listen within this series. This one is Ruby Colliers story and wow its an insta love romance. Because as soon as Ruby meets Bran in the woods they devour eachother because they know they are true mates...So they seal the deal there and then no questions asked. Bran is a complete stranger so for Ruby to do this is kind of a shock to her family and pretty wild..But Ruby should have been more cautious with Bran....because Bran has a huge secret he is not who he says he is. He is under cover for his Pack he wants revenge for the death of his parents,so he is has to kill Kelsey. Kelsey is a wolf shifter witch hybrid. But Bran never expected to find his true mate with Ruby who has a connection with Kelsey so his mission goes in a disasterous way, Ruby is kind of bold and when she sees this drifter in the woods and her wolf calls to his wolf she just wants to claim him straight away..Why fight it like her sisters did wih their mates and cause heartache.? So she doesn't hesitate and they claim eachother there in the woods. But Ruby didn't expect all the ups and downs and annoying habits when living with someone, she is used to being alone and doing her own thing.Ruby doesn't suspect Brans ulterior motives instead she falls in love with him more and more eachday. This is a real rollercoaster of a book and I was instantly curious how this book would play out and how could they posssibly be together when Bran is the enemy...there are a few surprises too. Narrated once more by Carly Robins and Joe Hempel who are just Superb. A really enjoyable audiobook. I LOved It. 5 Stars.
Leave it to strong family ties and friendships to open a man's eyes.
Nicolai's brother Bran of the Bulgarian Pack was hell bent on seeking revenge for the death of his father since Nicolai refused to go through with it, but not only his true mate Ruby, but the realization that these packs were true to their family and friends had him rethinking his previous thoughts. He hadn't counted on finding his true mate during his mission to kill the person responsible for his father's death, but he had and what man would not kill to protect his mate? This opened his eyes to the truth of why his father was killed. But will the blood oath performed on him be his demise since there is no way to get out of it?
Ruby Collier, Cowgirl extraordinaire goes looking for a lost horse and is struck with the realization that her one true mate is sitting in the field right in front of her.....She is not going to suffer what her sister did, or her brother, so she decides to jump on the horse and make it official and he is not complaining either. The fastest bonding in the West, 10 minutes into first sight!
This story is very intriguing and suspenseful, keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end. You really won't know what's going to happen till the end.
OMG this book had me squirming in my seat! It was an insane ride knowing that Bran was caught between his true mate and a blood oath that he was unable to break. I couldn't imagine how he was going to make it through this without losing his mind, his true love and his life. This book is probably the one out of all the books in the 2 series that I've read so far that caused me the most anxiety. It had me freaking out pacing the living room with my ear buds in. (I listened to the audio version, which I highly recommend) The way Bran hid his intentions and the suspense of what he would do next made this book amazing and unforgettable. I loved every stressful second of it!
I decided to buy this book in paperback instead of reading it on my phone or tablet. While I was reading it, I got really into it and almost reached the end. It was really good! I read it one day because I wanted to find out why he wanted to kill Kelsey, but he didn’t. However, I’m a bit worried because I read another book from the Western Pack series, and there was a character named Oscar who was 18 years old. The last book I read, the Collins series, had Oscar as a child, but in this book, Oscar should’ve been 18 by now. If anyone has any information about this, please let me know. I’m a bit confused and would really appreciate it.
I really liked the suspense in this book, but I was severely disappointed when the big secret came out and there was absolutely no conflict. Nobody cared! I thought that was weird and it spoiled the ending for me a whole lot. What was all that build-up for if you're not going to do anything with it? I mean, the characters in her books are always a bit too forgiving (which hasn't really bothered me so far), but when you write a book about betrayal and then nobody is upset about it, that's counterproductive. Other than that I liked the book.
The book is pretty good but it’s also kinda frustrating.
So finally we had a book where one of the characters doesn’t run from the mate bond they literally just met and bonded within minutes!
But he was hiding a dark secret, after mating and falling in love I found it so frustrating that after months he didn’t try to tell her or her brother the Alpha about blood oath he made especially after he nearly killed his mate & baby. He should of fought then but nope he just kept going on like normal 🤦♀️
The end was fine kinda anticlimactic but good enough
This is book three and I am reading this series out of order because some of the linked Collier books popped up first. Ruby is the youngest daughter to the previous Collier Alpha. She has always wanted to be a cow girl and take care of the animals. Ruby is good at it and happy with her life. One day out on the range looking for a missing horse Ruby stumbles upon her one true mate Branimir aka Bran. The sparks fly. There is a secret malicious plot in place and Bran is part of it. Read On!
A great addition to this series. Ruby never expected to find him, her one true mate, in the fields of Collier land. The connection was immediate. Bran knew his plan. He was set and expected to do what needed to be done but then he met her. Love grows quickly but he is blood bound on an oath to follow through with killing his target. So many conflicts and there seems to be no way out. A great and crazy book!
Why did I wait so long to find this series. Adding to my list of favorites: Westin Pack Series and Wolves of Collier Series; Phoenix Pack (S. Wright), Mercury Pack (S. Wright), Pack of Love and Hate Series( Olivia Wildenstein), the Pride Series (Laurenston), Honey Badger Chronicles. If you are looking for a pack of wolves/ or shifters to lose yourself I highly suggest reading any of the above books. If anyone knows of any other Shifter series that are just as awesome please let me know.
I enjoyed this book a lot and can see me reading this again. I like how we got to see Ruby & Bran’s relationship grow. I tend to not like secret identity as is agonize over it too much. But the author did a good job of developing their relationship w/o the angst. Bran is such a good guy and I like how much he cared for Ruby right from the start. It was also good to have the characters from previous books appear.
Another great 👍🏻 book 📖 in this series ...😊 The Collier Pack are so tightly bonded as a family and show so much love 💕 it’s really nice to read 😊 Omg 😮 love sassy 💁♀️Ruby red and her love for animals 🐄🐑🐂🐏🐖🐓🐴 and Bran even thou he is a Bulgarian wolf 🐺 doesn’t mean he is a bad egg 🥚 and he sounds just yummy 😋 to me 😊 overall loved 🥰 this book 📖 can not wait for book 📖 4 woop 🙌🏻 woop 🙌🏻
I liked their story and how the most part it was resistance free to their bond. But (HUGE SPOILER ALERT!) I can't believe Kyle would just forgive Bran for trying to kill his mate so easily, i mean I can't even forgive my siblings for eating my chips without some sort of retaliation! Overall a good book.
A book I couldn't put down as the intriguing storylines began. The story has a lot of love, secrets, and mystic about it.
I would definitely recommend this Author's writings and website's. The writing is unique in that all the Westin and Collier packs intertwined with one another.
True mates Secrets Our fmc is quick to forgive I’m not sure I agree with this outcome but each to their own. Hea Wraps up really easily with a bow. I’ll carry on with this series but this one was a little so/so for me. I do love hearing still about western force and how they are doing whilst still meeting new shifters in this new collier pack.
It's always so wonderful to read one of these books it is full of love and joy with twist and turns and I find myself looking forward to reading the next book, I absolutely love the stories.
Ruby and Bran are wonderful. Such a complex relationship and plot that kept me on my toes. Ruby is such a spunky red-head while Bran learns to balance her just right. Much more action in this book but also brought a tear or two out. Loved it!!!
But only four stars because there were so many sex scenes and that is the first time I've seen that from this auithor! Still a good story and still a great addition to the series. And very exciting right up to the end! But just a bit disappointed. Still a good read!
Julie Trettel delivers another imaginative story in this series. Once again, new players in the cast of characters bring excitement and new twists to the Collier and Weston packs. Don't miss this one!
Not sure why, but this was my least favourite of the whole series - Love the whole series, would recommend reading Westin Pack first before Collier Pack, ARC Shifters and Westin Force, as it makes the characters fall into place and make sense with no spoilers
I enjoyed this story very much. I really ended up liking Bran. Ruby deserved a good guy. I can't believe she's a mom! Who knew she could stop working long enough to become one! I liked how it ended because I was so sad thinking about how it would all turn out.
The love story of Bran and Ruby. A blood oath to kill Kelsey. Now Bran is traveling to the Collier Park Territory to for fail the oath then he meets his true mate, Ruby. Will this change everything? Great story.
I absolutely love this series. If you love to read a story that has all the characters in every book and you can't out it down these are for you. Alpha other are strong but true mates are stronger
Secrets, revenge and poisonings.. Oh my! In Plain Sight is a suspenseful, intriguing and interesting romance. Bran and Ruby are cute together but can the secrets Bran has come between them? I enjoyed every single moment of this story.
Finally a bond completed right away! Love the plot from the very first book coming back into play, love the allegiance change, I do think this book works with the timeline being prolonged but I was just reading faster waiting for all the drama to surface and it did not disappoint.
