Hardly a "Post Apocalyptic Thriller." Hardly a "thriller" at all really. This book was kind of hard to categorize. While on a cruise, a stargazing couple witnesses an odd explosion. All power goes out... YES!!! ANOTHER EMP STORY, because there aren't enough of those in the genre. The cruise ship is operating on auxiliary power, so a few passengers and crew do what is completely normal...try to flee the safety of a big cruise ship and escape on a lifeboat. Oddly, the Captain of the ship doesn't say shit...ever... about what is going on. So away the escapees go, and of course, on the life boat there doesn't seem to be a compass (WTF???) so they navigate by the stars. Then a PIRATE ship comes and the fearless castaways destroy the ship WITH A FLARE GUN!!! What the hell? They also run into a sail boat and they are like "it's all good bro, we sail ...no need for fuel." They get to land and no one is there. I might just have to go for book 2.... there are undoubtably bands of raging cannibals.

Mutiny. Lee West

Passengers on a cruise ship and the unthinkable happens. Power is lost. No communication. Their unable to enter their destination port. A panic sets in among the passengers and crew. Ship security is now armed. food is being rationed. Many of the passengers are being moved to different quarters. Three of the crew members and four passengers steal a lifeboat and barely escape. One of the crewmembers dies in the escape. An EMP has possibly struck. Their nightmare is slowly becoming a reality.

I think I am just getting tired of these post apocalyptic books. I have read too many. This is a good book but not one i would ask others to read. Maybe because it is "old" to me. I compare almost every book in the post apocalyptic field to "One Second After" -my first book on this subject. read it 3 times. So far, nothing has come close. But at least this took place on a cruise ship so it was worth reading to get a perspective of how it could go if an EMP were to hit. So read it and enjoy!!!!!

This was a pretty good book and very promising start to a new series. I like the characters and the fact that this starts on a cruise ship, presenting quite a challenge to surviving an EMP. There is also some mystery and a whiff that the government might have had some involvement in the EMP. The editing was good as well. I look forward to the next book.

The book leaves you with a lot of unsolved mysteries, including the central theme of the book which is the apocalyptic event.

The book is self-described as a post-apocalyptic thriller, but I didn't think there was much in the way of thrilling action. The plot was well thought out, I just didn't think much was going on in this first book. Don't know if I'll continue the series

Good

A little difference from other pot apocalyptic novels as it begins aboard a cruise ship. During their last night of the voyage an high altitude explosion emits an EMP killing all electronic devices. With limited food and fuel they are unable to dock at home port. what the heck do they do now?

What a great book!

I can't wait for the next book in the series, the first one was so good! I highly recommend this series as well as the Blue Lives series which was also phenomenal!

Kept my attention

Out of so many versions of this future world, I found mutiny’s story interesting with good character development. Not just a shoot’em up, but an honest portrayal of ordinary people faced with unordinary circumstances.

Solid story.

Good character development, likable people, believable story line. As with all the recent serialized books, it has lots of loose ends hopefully addressed in future books.

The book was simple & straight forward. The character development could have been much more. Some things happened too quick. (The call to steal a lifeboat, the security crew shooting, & the 1st ship they meet is a pirate ship.) But I’m curious enough to look at book #2.

Trip

It seems like forever to try to leave the ship. I would have enjoyed knowing what happened on the ship after our group left.

There was nothing I liked about this book except for the character Frank.
I was hoping the other characters would drown.
Way too many loose ends at the end of the book.
Done with this series.

Good Story

And it brings a brand new style of writing as well. The author will learn soon and the next in the series should be worth watching out for.
