A young boy accidentally writes his Christmas letter to Satan. Unfortunately, he gets a response.
Ezio, a food court chef, and Detective Milk, a mall detective, are unlikely heroes, and even more unlikely friends. After being approached by the boy's mother, they realize the only way to get him back is to go to Hell. Along the way, they'll meet a demon delivering a cake for Satan's birthday, a being made of water, and a hunter that can control memories. It's a buddy comedy through the depths of hell to get a boy home by Christmas Eve.
This was a decent read. I lost my kindle after starting it so I had to wait to finish it. It’s quirky, fun and fast-paced. There are some editing issues that made me have to stop and reread or consider the context, and there were some missed punctuations - mostly quotation marks during conversations in a few areas - that made me have to read back over the area to piece it together. All in all, I enjoyed the read and will read more from this author. I would recommend the investment in a good proof reader and editor.
So, I've read this book three times. I love it that much. I prefer escaping reality when I read and AM Hounchell provides the ability to do just that. Milk is a favorite character and I love the concept of this book. Mr. Hounchell writes in a way that is easy to digest and moves the story along beautifully. I highly recommend this book.
Amusing story with really fun wordplay. It felt a little like Mister Toads' Wild Ride for grownups. I went into this expecting, well, not much, and got a lot more than that out of the bargain. Good work!
This is a bizarre story, almost dreamlike, as two men go to hell in order to save Christmas for one family. Humorous and imaginative, it’s a wild ride.
