Enid Mary Blyton (1897–1968) was an English author of children's books.

Born in South London, Blyton was the eldest of three children, and showed an early interest in music and reading. She was educated at St. Christopher's School, Beckenham, and - having decided not to pursue her music - at Ipswich High School, where she trained as a kindergarten teacher. She taught for five years before her 1924 marriage to editor Hugh Pollock, with whom she had two daughters. This marriage ended in divorce, and Blyton remarried in 1943, to surgeon Kenneth Fraser Darrell Waters. She died in 1968, one year after her second husband.

Blyton was a prolific author of children's books, who penned an estimated 800 books over about 40 years. Her stories were often either children's adventure and mystery stories, or fantasies involving magic. Notable series include: The Famous Five, The Secret Seven, The Five Find-Outers, Noddy, The Wishing Chair, Mallory Towers, and St. Clare's.

According to the Index Translationum, Blyton was the fifth most popular author in the world in 2007, coming after Lenin but ahead of Shakespeare.

Animal Stories by Enid Blyton is a collection of 30 stories related to animal.
The books genre is Children's-Fiction
Each story seems very fascinating by it's title.
My favourite story among 30 stories was The Noah's Ark Lion because it conveys the message ' Not To Be Overconfident'.
I loved this book because the book contains hilarious parts and as well as bravery parts and there are some words which kids don't know the meaning of to enhance vocabulary.
Kids between the age group 6-11 will really love this book .

It’s a great book with a combination of hilariousness, morals, fiction and suspense. I loved this book because it has animal’s stories and I love animals. A very good treat to those who love to read about animals.

Before bed story time with the kids. A collection of short stories loosely themed around animals and generally digestible in 5-10min blocks although some longer stories read over a couple of nights.

Generally the stories are creative, varied and mildly interesting. However often very predictable where I can usually guess how the story is going to play out after the opening paragraph (okay, I get it - it’s a kids book but why can’t the grown up enjoy the stories as well).

But I don’t think it’s aged well with more than a few stories involving themes of borderline animal abuse, and yeah they are just stories but in most instances add nothing to the story itself apart from making it appear dated and making me second guess if it’s appropriate to be sharing with the kids.

Enid blyton creates magic yet again with Animal stories. This books has many stories and you get a different lesson from each. I loved reading Spiny’s good turn . My most favourite part of this story was that even though Jeny knew that the hedgehog could hurt her , she still took the hedgehog carefully to her mother and let him stay in her garden. He repaid the favour by not letting anybody spoil Jenny’s garden. The cow that lost her moo is also a must read . I think it is a wonderful book filled with magical, funny and interesting stories. I highly recommend this book to all Enid blyton fans as it’s another of her masterpieces.

My wife bought this book for my daughter as she reminisced reading Enid Blyton books in her youth. I despise how most stories contain the word “stupid”. I felt it quite inappropriate for a children’s book. My daughter enjoyed it and giggled though.

Honestly, I just wanted to get done with this book. Many stories did not have morals. Some where legendary. A mixed bag in terms of consistency.

I look forward to reading her other books.
