I enjoyed reading this book, even though he was all over the place with it. It spans 50 years and 16 cats- but not in order. There are chapters on different aspects of the cat’s lives- I would have preferred a linear story of his life with his cats. Also, I happen to disagree with his firmly held belief that cats are only happy when they are allowed to roam outside.

I am very happy to have the copy that I have; I started reading it at a cafe we visit. I asked if it were for sale and was told no, but on another visit found a price had been written inside, so I bought it. It is inscribed- it was a Christmas present from Connie to Marlene in 1979. I love inscribed used books.
