I must say that the women in this series are tremendous role models. They were independent, strong, and respectful toward their families. Each worked together with their husbands as a team.
The men are hard working, loving, and handsome! Who wouldn't want to spend time with them?
The proofreader must have dozed through their responsibilities to this series, since there were multiple grammar errors.
In this tale, Sage Archer (the last single sister) finds love after watching all her sisters marry and they face their individual struggles on the road to marital bliss.
This was a sweet and clean romance that brought marriage to the longtime cook and extended Archer family member. It is able to stand on its own, but is much more enjoyable read in succession with the rest of the series.
The Archer family has become near and dear to my heart from the Wild West Frontier Bride Series. They have strong family ties, but they also care deeply about others. It is their upbringing by their late mother and their father, Beau Archer. Sage inherited the love of plants and making healing tonics from her late mother, taking care of her herb garden and her journals.
Sage will work with the local doctor, Dr. Folsom, who she idolizes and even shares with him some of her tonics that her mother taught her to make, and how they healed. But what happens when two of his patients who were both nearly healed take a drastic turn for the worse? When Mr. Jackson’s health declines to the point that it looks like death is imminent, his housekeeper sends a message to Clint Jackson, studying to be a doctor in New York, that he needs to come quickly.
The story will have Sage dealing with the doctor, his less than professional attitude towards his patients, and how she must try to smooth things over. It will also have Clint and Sage developing a friendship. Sage is consistently defending Dr. Folsom who in turn belittles her and her tonics. It will take several wise people to help Sage see beyond the rose-colored glasses she wears concerning the doctor and his degree.
“I didn’t realize until recently that honor and respect were to be earned, not given.” –Sage
“It wasn’t until I met you that I learned the difference between a person who was supposed to be good and kind and someone who truly was good and kind.” –Clint
“I don’t think I truly believed in myself until you did—and then I came to believe you were right.
Thank you for believing in me when I didn’t—couldn’t” –Sage The story is a clean historical western romance that takes place in Tombstone, Arizona. While the story is part of a series, it will also read well as a stand-alone. It has a cast of interesting characters, just enough mystery and angst, and a sweet romance to keep the pages turning.
I truly enjoyed reading this refreshing & sweet romance. It is a great start to the new series, Bride of Archer Ranch. Sage, worked for the town Doctor. She had also been taught by her Mother, about making tonics with herbs. Tombstone, is a rapidly growing town, & they all looked out for each other. With the help of Sage's tonic, people were getting better. Then, they had taken a turn for the worst. It didn't make sense to Sage. Clint, lives in New York, studing to be a Doctor. His father, Mr. Jackson, is not doing well. The housekeeper sent for Clint. When he arrived, he was shocked to see how sick his father was. Sage & Clint, joined together to figure out the mystey of why the patients were doing well, then not. Along the way, something changed between, Sage & Clint. He believed in her, when she didn't believe in herself. I loved everything about the story!!!
I chose 5 stars because I have read all the other books in this series and each one is as good if not better than the last. I'm now moving on to the next book in the series tarragon..... can't wait to get started on that!
I have loved all of the series of these books but this is my favorite so far. There is a bit of magic between Sage and Clint right from the start that just grows and melts you with Clint's faith in her. You can barely put it down.
This is a good story. There were a few issues with the story, in that, there were parts where the story changed from one chapter to the other making it hard to follow. The overall storyline is great. The characters were also great.
I love this series and this book was wonderful. Cindy does a great job of keeping up the anticipation and making the story fresh! Definitely a must read book.
Clint- medical student from NY came to see why his dad was so ill. Sage- used her mother remedies to help people I enjoyed reading this captivating story that is well written and has loveable characters. Although I personally thought the story was drawn out a bit it was still enjoyable. Their story has a sweet HEA.
I can’t describe how great it was to be back in Tombstone and the Archer Ranch! This author has imagination, wit and romantic ideas which always leads to a good read. A family whose Mother passed some time ago, left a legacy of healing and caring. One of the daughters, Sage, is what we would call today, an herbalist and healer. This is her story! She works for a doctor who does not respect her knowledge, yet it is the medical doctor that nearly costs lives in this story-line. I must confess that the letter to Sage left by her Mother was profound and yet so endearing, it brought me to tears. Maybe it is a Mother’s heart but the meaningful words will remain in my mind for a long time. Thanks for this excellent story. (Also, thanks for remembering Carol). I can see where this book could lead to a series of its own as life on the ranch has branched out into new territory.
Sage is happy to be the assistant of the doctor in Tombstone and is helping the residents with her tonics. When Clint’s father becomes fatally ill he comes to visit and meets Sage. When Sage looses her confidence Clint stands beside her. Can they solve the mystery? This is such a fun story , you gonna love this characters.
